139 主よ。あなたは私の心の奥底まで探り、
どんなささいなことも見のがされません。
2 私の立つのも座るのも、すべてご存じです。
遠くからでも、私の心をすべて読み取られます。
3 あなたは、私の進む道もご存じで、
どこで休息をとるべきかも教えてくださいます。
どんなときも、私の居場所もご存じです。
4 そして、口を開く前から、
私が何を言いたいかも見抜いておられます。
5 あなたは私の前を行き、後ろからも来られます。
あなたは私に、祝福の御手を置いてくださいます。
6 このようなことはあまりにも栄光にあふれ、
すばらしい話なので、
ほんとうだとは信じがたいほどです。
7 あなたの視界から逃れることは決してできません。
身を隠すことも不可能です。
8 天まで昇ろうと、あなたはそこにおられ、
死者の世界まで降りて行っても、
あなたはそこで待っておられるのです。
9 朝風に乗って、地の果てまで飛んで行っても、
10 あなたの力強い腕は、私を導き、支えてくださいます。
11 私が暗闇にまぎれ込もうとしても、
夜は私を照らし出す光となるのです。
12 暗闇も、神から隠れることはできません。
神から見れば、暗闇も光も同じようなものなのです。
13 神は、精巧に私の体のすべての器官を造り、
母の胎内で組み立ててくださいました。
14 こんなにも複雑かつ緻密に
仕上げてくださったことを感謝します。
想像することもできないくらい、すばらしいことです。
あなたのわざは驚くべきもので、
私にはとうてい、理解することはできません。
15 だれも立ち入ることのできない場所で
私が組み立てられた時、あなたはそこにおられました。
16 生まれる前から、まだ呼吸を始める前から、
あなたの目は私に注がれ、
私の生涯にわたるご計画も、
練り上げられていたのです。
17-18 主よ。
あなたが私をかた時も忘れずにいてくださることは、
ほんとうにたいせつな事実です。
あなたは一日に、数えきれないほど何度も、
私のことを思い起こしてくださいます。
眠っているときも、朝までずっと、
私のことを考えていてくださるのです。
19 悪者どもは必ず、主の御手にかかって滅びます。
血に飢えた者どもよ、すみやかに消え失せるがよい。
20 彼らはあなたの御名を汚し、横柄な態度をとっています。
なんと愚かなことでしょう。
21 主よ。あなたを憎む者どもを、
この私が憎まずにいられましょうか。
心を痛めずにいられましょうか。
22 私は彼らを憎みます。
あなたの敵は私の敵だからです。
23 ああ神よ。
私の心を探り、内面を調べ上げてください。
24 あなたを悲しませるようなものがあるなら、
教えてください。
私が永遠のいのちへの道からそれないように
お導きください。

139 O Lord, (A)You have searched me and known me.
2 (B)You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You (C)understand my thought afar off.
3 (D)You [a]comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, (E)You know it altogether.
5 You have [b]hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 (F)Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
7 (G)Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 (H)If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
(I)If I make my bed in [c]hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall [d]fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, (J)the darkness [e]shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You [f]covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for [g]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 (K)My [h]frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 (L)How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
19 Oh, that You would (M)slay the wicked, O God!
(N)Depart from me, therefore, you [i]bloodthirsty men.
20 For they (O)speak against You wickedly;
[j]Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 (P)Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with [k]perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
23 (Q)Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And (R)lead me in the way everlasting.
