3 有 話 說 ： 人 若 休 妻 ， 妻 離 他 而 去 ， 作 了 別 人 的 妻 ， 前 夫 豈 能 再 收 回 他 來 ？ 若 收 回 他 來 ， 那 地 豈 不 是 大 大 玷 污 了 麼 ？ 但 你 和 許 多 親 愛 的 行 邪 淫 ， 還 可 以 歸 向 我 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。
2 你 向 淨 光 的 高 處 舉 目 觀 看 ， 你 在 何 處 沒 有 淫 行 呢 ？ 你 坐 在 道 旁 等 候 ， 好 像 亞 拉 伯 人 在 曠 野 埋 伏 一 樣 ， 並 且 你 的 淫 行 邪 惡 玷 污 了 全 地 。
3 因 此 甘 霖 停 止 ， 春 （ 原 文 是 晚 ） 雨 不 降 。 你 還 是 有 娼 妓 之 臉 ， 不 顧 羞 恥 。
4 從 今 以 後 ， 你 豈 不 向 我 呼 叫 說 ： 我 父 啊 ， 你 是 我 幼 年 的 恩 主 。
5 耶 和 華 豈 永 遠 懷 怒 ， 存 留 到 底 嗎 ？ 看 哪 ， 你 又 發 惡 言 又 行 壞 事 ， 隨 自 己 的 私 意 而 行 （ 或 譯 ： 你 雖 這 樣 說 ， 還 是 行 惡 放 縱 慾 心 ） 。
6 約 西 亞 王 在 位 的 時 候 ， 耶 和 華 又 對 我 說 ： 「 背 道 的 以 色 列 所 行 的 ， 你 看 見 沒 有 ？ 他 上 各 高 山 ， 在 各 青 翠 樹 下 行 淫 。
7 他 行 這 些 事 以 後 ， 我 說 他 必 歸 向 我 ， 他 卻 不 歸 向 我 。 他 奸 詐 的 妹 妹 猶 大 也 看 見 了 。
8 背 道 的 以 色 列 行 淫 ， 我 為 這 緣 故 給 他 休 書 休 他 ； 我 看 見 他 奸 詐 的 妹 妹 猶 大 ， 還 不 懼 怕 ， 也 去 行 淫 。
9 因 以 色 列 輕 忽 了 他 的 淫 亂 ， 和 石 頭 木 頭 行 淫 ， 地 就 被 玷 污 了 。
10 雖 有 這 一 切 的 事 ， 他 奸 詐 的 妹 妹 猶 大 還 不 一 心 歸 向 我 ， 不 過 是 假 意 歸 我 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。 」
11 耶 和 華 對 我 說 ： 「 背 道 的 以 色 列 比 奸 詐 的 猶 大 還 顯 為 義 。
12 你 去 向 北 方 宣 告 說 ： 耶 和 華 說 ： 背 道 的 以 色 列 啊 ， 回 來 吧 ！ 我 必 不 怒 目 看 你 們 ； 因 為 我 是 慈 愛 的 ， 我 必 不 永 遠 存 怒 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。
13 只 要 承 認 你 的 罪 孽 ， 就 是 你 違 背 耶 和 華 ─ 你 的 神 ， 在 各 青 翠 樹 下 向 別 神 東 奔 西 跑 ， 沒 有 聽 從 我 的 話 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。
14 耶 和 華 說 ： 背 道 的 兒 女 啊 ， 回 來 吧 ！ 因 為 我 作 你 們 的 丈 夫 ， 並 且 我 必 將 你 們 從 一 城 取 一 人 ， 從 一 族 取 兩 人 ， 帶 到 錫 安 。
15 我 也 必 將 合 我 心 的 牧 者 賜 給 你 們 。 他 們 必 以 知 識 和 智 慧 牧 養 你 們 。 」
16 耶 和 華 說 ： 「 你 們 在 國 中 生 養 眾 多 ； 當 那 些 日 子 ， 人 必 不 再 提 說 耶 和 華 的 約 櫃 ， 不 追 想 ， 不 記 念 ， 不 覺 缺 少 ， 也 不 再 製 造 。
17 那 時 ， 人 必 稱 耶 路 撒 冷 為 耶 和 華 的 寶 座 ； 萬 國 必 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 在 耶 和 華 立 名 的 地 方 聚 集 。 他 們 必 不 再 隨 從 自 己 頑 梗 的 惡 心 行 事 。
18 當 那 些 日 子 ， 猶 大 家 要 和 以 色 列 家 同 行 ， 從 北 方 之 地 一 同 來 到 我 賜 給 你 們 列 祖 為 業 之 地 。 」
19 我 說 ： 我 怎 樣 將 你 安 置 在 兒 女 之 中 ， 賜 給 你 美 地 ， 就 是 萬 國 中 肥 美 的 產 業 。 我 又 說 ： 你 們 必 稱 我 為 父 ， 也 不 再 轉 去 不 跟 從 我 。
20 以 色 列 家 ， 你 們 向 我 行 詭 詐 ， 真 像 妻 子 行 詭 詐 離 開 他 丈 夫 一 樣 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。
21 在 淨 光 的 高 處 聽 見 人 聲 ， 就 是 以 色 列 人 哭 泣 懇 求 之 聲 ， 乃 因 他 們 走 彎 曲 之 道 ， 忘 記 耶 和 華 ─ 他 們 的 神 。
22 你 們 這 背 道 的 兒 女 啊 ， 回 來 吧 ！ 我 要 醫 治 你 們 背 道 的 病 。 看 哪 ， 我 們 來 到 你 這 裡 ， 因 你 是 耶 和 華 ─ 我 們 的 神 。
23 仰 望 從 小 山 或 從 大 山 的 喧 嚷 中 得 幫 助 ， 真 是 枉 然 的 。 以 色 列 得 救 ， 誠 然 在 乎 耶 和 華 ─ 我 們 的 神 。
24 從 我 們 幼 年 以 來 ， 那 可 恥 的 偶 像 將 我 們 列 祖 所 勞 碌 得 來 的 羊 群 、 牛 群 ， 和 他 們 的 兒 女 都 吞 吃 了 。
25 我 們 在 羞 恥 中 躺 臥 罷 ！ 願 慚 愧 將 我 們 遮 蓋 ； 因 為 從 立 國 （ 原 文 是 幼 年 ） 以 來 ， 我 們 和 我 們 的 列 祖 常 常 得 罪 耶 和 華 ─ 我 們 的 神 ， 沒 有 聽 從 耶 和 華 ─ 我 們 神 的 話 。

3 耶和華說：「如果丈夫休掉妻子，
妻子離去另嫁別人，
前夫怎會再娶她呢？
那樣做豈不完全玷污了土地嗎？
你曾與許多情人苟合，
現在要歸向我嗎？
2 「你舉目看看那些光禿的高山，
哪裡沒有被你玷污過呢？
你坐在路旁等候情郎，
就像曠野的遊牧者，
你的淫亂惡行玷污了土地。
3 因此，秋雨不降，
春雨不來。
你卻仍然不知羞恥，
一副娼妓的嘴臉。
4 你不是剛對我說，
『我父啊！你從我年幼時就做我的朋友。
5 難道你會永遠發怒、
懷恨到底嗎？』
你雖然這樣說，
卻仍大肆作惡。」
呼籲不忠的以色列悔改
6 在約西亞王執政期間，耶和華對我說：「你看見以色列的不忠不貞了嗎？她在高山上、在綠蔭下放縱情慾。 7 我以為她放縱之後會回到我身邊，她卻執迷不悟。她不忠的妹妹猶大也看見了這事。 8 因為以色列不忠貞，我給她休書，把她休掉。她不忠的妹妹猶大卻不害怕，竟也去淫亂。 9 以色列肆意淫亂，拜石頭木頭，玷污了土地。 10 儘管如此，她不忠的妹妹猶大只是假裝歸向我，並不誠心。這是耶和華說的。」
11 耶和華對我說：「不忠貞的以色列比奸詐的猶大罪過還輕。 12 你去向北方宣告，
『耶和華說，
不忠貞的以色列啊，回轉吧！
我必不向你們發怒，
因為我充滿慈愛，
不會永遠懷怒。』
這是耶和華說的。
13 『你必須要承認自己的罪，
承認背叛了你的上帝耶和華，
在綠蔭樹下祭拜各種外邦的神明，
不聽從我的話。』
這是耶和華說的。
14 『不忠貞的子民啊，回轉吧！
因為我是你們的主人[a]。
我要從你們中間選些人帶回錫安，
每座城邑或每個宗族選一兩個人。』
這是耶和華說的。
15 「我要賜給你們合我心意的牧人，讓他們用知識與智慧牧養你們。 16 你們在地上繁衍昌盛的時候，人們不會再提及耶和華的約櫃，不會再把它放在心上，不會再感到需要它，也不會再造一個。這是耶和華說的。 17 那時，耶路撒冷會被稱為『耶和華的寶座』，萬國都要聚集在耶路撒冷敬拜耶和華，不再執迷不悟地作惡。 18 那時，猶大人必與以色列人一同從北方來到我賜給你們祖先作基業的地方。
19 「我曾想，我多麼願意把你們當成我的兒女，
賜給你們萬國中最肥美的土地。
我原以為你們會叫我『父親』，
再不離棄我。
20 然而，以色列人啊！
你們竟對我不忠，
就像妻子不忠於丈夫。
這是耶和華說的。」
21 從光禿的山頭傳來聲音，
是以色列子民哭泣呼求的聲音，
因為他們走入歧途，
忘掉了他們的上帝耶和華。
22 耶和華說：「不忠貞的子民啊，
歸來吧！
我要醫治你們不忠貞的病。」
他們說：「是的，我們要到你面前，
因為你是我們的上帝耶和華。
23 在高山丘陵上狂歡、
拜偶像真是枉然，
唯有我們的上帝耶和華才能拯救以色列。
24 「從我們年幼時，那些可恥的神像就吞噬了我們祖先辛苦得來的牛羊和兒女。 25 我們躺在自己的羞恥中，讓我們的恥辱遮蓋我們吧！因為我們和我們的祖先都得罪了我們的上帝耶和華，我們自幼至今一直沒有順服我們的上帝耶和華。」

3 “If a man divorces(A) his wife
and she leaves him and marries another man,
should he return to her again?
Would not the land be completely defiled?(B)
But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers(C)—
would you now return to me?”(D)
declares the Lord.
2 “Look up to the barren heights(E) and see.
Is there any place where you have not been ravished?
By the roadside(F) you sat waiting for lovers,
sat like a nomad in the desert.
You have defiled the land(G)
with your prostitution(H) and wickedness.
3 Therefore the showers have been withheld,(I)
and no spring rains(J) have fallen.
Yet you have the brazen(K) look of a prostitute;
you refuse to blush with shame.(L)
4 Have you not just called to me:
‘My Father,(M) my friend from my youth,(N)
5 will you always be angry?(O)
Will your wrath continue forever?’
This is how you talk,
but you do all the evil you can.”
Unfaithful Israel
6 During the reign of King Josiah,(P) the Lord said to me, “Have you seen what faithless(Q) Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree(R) and has committed adultery(S) there. 7 I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me but she did not, and her unfaithful sister(T) Judah saw it.(U) 8 I gave faithless Israel(V) her certificate of divorce(W) and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear;(X) she also went out and committed adultery. 9 Because Israel’s immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land(Y) and committed adultery(Z) with stone(AA) and wood.(AB) 10 In spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return(AC) to me with all her heart, but only in pretense,(AD)” declares the Lord.(AE)
11 The Lord said to me, “Faithless Israel is more righteous(AF) than unfaithful(AG) Judah.(AH) 12 Go, proclaim this message toward the north:(AI)
“‘Return,(AJ) faithless(AK) Israel,’ declares the Lord,
‘I will frown on you no longer,
for I am faithful,’(AL) declares the Lord,
‘I will not be angry(AM) forever.
13 Only acknowledge(AN) your guilt—
you have rebelled against the Lord your God,
you have scattered your favors to foreign gods(AO)
under every spreading tree,(AP)
and have not obeyed(AQ) me,’”
declares the Lord.
14 “Return,(AR) faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband.(AS) I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. 15 Then I will give you shepherds(AT) after my own heart,(AU) who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. 16 In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the Lord, “people will no longer say, ‘The ark(AV) of the covenant of the Lord.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered;(AW) it will not be missed, nor will another one be made. 17 At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne(AX) of the Lord, and all nations(AY) will gather in Jerusalem to honor(AZ) the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.(BA) 18 In those days the people of Judah will join the people of Israel,(BB) and together(BC) they will come from a northern(BD) land to the land(BE) I gave your ancestors as an inheritance.
19 “I myself said,
“‘How gladly would I treat you like my children
and give you a pleasant land,(BF)
the most beautiful inheritance(BG) of any nation.’
I thought you would call me ‘Father’(BH)
and not turn away from following me.
20 But like a woman unfaithful to her husband,
so you, Israel, have been unfaithful(BI) to me,”
declares the Lord.
21 A cry is heard on the barren heights,(BJ)
the weeping(BK) and pleading of the people of Israel,
because they have perverted their ways
and have forgotten(BL) the Lord their God.
“Yes, we will come to you,
for you are the Lord our God.
23 Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills(BP)
and mountains is a deception;
surely in the Lord our God
is the salvation(BQ) of Israel.
24 From our youth shameful(BR) gods have consumed
the fruits of our ancestors’ labor—
their flocks and herds,
their sons and daughters.
25 Let us lie down in our shame,(BS)
and let our disgrace cover us.
We have sinned(BT) against the Lord our God,
both we and our ancestors;(BU)
from our youth(BV) till this day
we have not obeyed(BW) the Lord our God.”
