Jeremiah 31:3-9
New King James Version
3 The Lord has appeared [a]of old to me, saying:
“Yes, (A)I have loved you with (B)an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have (C)drawn you.
4 Again (D)I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel!
You shall again be adorned with your (E)tambourines,
And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.
5 (F)You shall yet plant vines on the mountains of Samaria;
The planters shall plant and [b]eat them as ordinary food.
6 For there shall be a day
When the watchmen will cry on Mount Ephraim,
(G)‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
To the Lord our God.’ ”
7 For thus says the Lord:
(H)“Sing with gladness for Jacob,
And shout among the chief of the nations;
Proclaim, give praise, and say,
‘O Lord, save Your people,
The remnant of Israel!’
8 Behold, I will bring them (I)from the north country,
And (J)gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among them the blind and the lame,
The woman with child
And the one who labors with child, together;
A great throng shall return there.
9 (K)They shall come with weeping,
And with supplications I will lead them.
I will cause them to walk (L)by the rivers of waters,
In a straight way in which they shall not stumble;
For I am a Father to Israel,
And Ephraim is My (M)firstborn.

(A)I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore (B)I have continued (C)my faithfulness to you.
4 (D)Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
O virgin Israel!
(E)Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines
and shall go forth in (F)the dance of the merrymakers.
5 (G)Again you shall plant vineyards
on the mountains of Samaria;
the planters shall plant
and shall enjoy the fruit.
6 For there shall be a day when watchmen will call
in (H)the hill country of Ephraim:
(I)‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
to the Lord our God.’”
7 For thus says the Lord:
(J)“Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob,
and raise shouts for (K)the chief of the nations;
proclaim, give praise, and say,
(L)‘O Lord, save your people,
the remnant of Israel.’
8 Behold, I will bring them (M)from the north country
and (N)gather them from (O)the farthest parts of the earth,
among them (P)the blind and the lame,
the pregnant woman and she who is in labor, together;
a great company, they shall return here.
9 (Q)With weeping they shall come,
(R)and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back,
I will make them (S)walk by brooks of water,
(T)in a straight path in which they shall not stumble,
for (U)I am a father to Israel,
and Ephraim is (V)my firstborn.
