10 以色列家啊，要听耶和华对你们所说的话！ 2 耶和华如此说：“你们不要效法列国的行为，也不要为天象惊惶，因列国为此事惊惶。 3 众民的风俗是虚空的，他们在树林中用斧子砍伐一棵树，匠人用手工造成偶像。 4 他们用金银装饰它，用钉子和锤子钉稳，使它不动摇。 5 它好像棕树，是旋成的，不能说话不能行走，必须有人抬着。你们不要怕它，它不能降祸，也无力降福。”
6 耶和华啊，没有能比你的。你本为大，有大能大力的名。 7 万国的王啊，谁不敬畏你？敬畏你本是合宜的，因为在列国的智慧人中，虽有政权的尊荣，也不能比你。 8 他们尽都是畜类，是愚昧的。偶像的训诲算什么呢？偶像不过是木头！ 9 有银子打成片，是从他施带来的，并有从乌法来的金子，都是匠人和银匠的手工；又有蓝色紫色料的衣服，都是巧匠的工作。 10 唯耶和华是真神，是活神，是永远的王。他一发怒，大地震动；他一恼恨，列国都担当不起。
11 你们要对他们如此说：“不是那创造天地的神，必从地上从天下被除灭。”
12 耶和华用能力创造大地，用智慧建立世界，用聪明铺张穹苍。 13 他一发声，空中便有多水激动，他使云雾从地极上腾。他造电随雨而闪，从他府库中带出风来。 14 各人都成了畜类，毫无知识，各银匠都因他雕刻的偶像羞愧。他所铸的偶像本是虚假的，其中并无气息， 15 都是虚无的，是迷惑人的工作，到追讨的时候必被除灭。 16 雅各的份不像这些，因他是造做万有的主，以色列也是他产业的支派，万军之耶和华是他的名。
劝以避将至之灾
17 受围困的人哪，当收拾你的财物，从国中带出去。 18 因为耶和华如此说：“这时候，我必将此地的居民好像用机弦甩出去，又必加害在他们身上，使他们觉悟。”
哀叹牧者愚昧帐篷倾毁
19 民说：“祸哉！我受损伤，我的伤痕极其重大。”我却说：“这真是我的痛苦，必须忍受。” 20 我的帐篷毁坏，我的绳索折断。我的儿女离我出去，没有了，无人再支搭我的帐篷，挂起我的幔子。 21 因为牧人都成为畜类，没有求问耶和华，所以不得顺利，他们的羊群也都分散。 22 有风声，看哪，敌人来了！有大扰乱从北方出来，要使犹大城邑变为荒凉，成为野狗的住处。

23 耶和华啊，我晓得人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的脚步。 24 耶和华啊，求你从宽惩治我，不要在你的怒中惩治我，恐怕使我归于无有。 25 愿你将愤怒倾在不认识你的列国中，和不求告你名的各族上。因为他们吞了雅各，不但吞了，而且灭绝，把他的住处变为荒场。

10 以色列家啊！你们要听耶和华对你们所说的话。
2 耶和华这样说：
“你们不要学习列国的行径，
列国因天象惊惶，
你们却不要因这些惊惶。
3 因为万民所信奉的都是虚空，
只是从林中砍下的树木，
是匠人用凿刀制成的产品。
4 他们用金银把它修饰，
用钉子和锤子把它钉牢，
使它不动摇。
5 它们像瓜田里的稻草人，
不能说话；
它们必须要人抬着走，
因为它们不能走路。
你们不要害怕它们，
因它们不能降祸，
也不能降福。”
6 耶和华啊！没有可以跟你相比的；
你是伟大的，你的名大有能力。
7 万国的王啊！谁敢不敬畏你呢？
这是你应得的。
因为在列国所有的智慧人中，
以及在他们的全国里，
没有可以跟你相比的。
8 他们全是顽梗愚昧，
他们所领受的教导是来自那些虚无、
木做的偶像。
9 那些偶像镶有经过锤炼的银片，
银子是从他施运来的，
也有从乌法运来的金子，
都是匠人和金匠手作的产品。
它们穿著蓝色和紫色的衣服，
全都是巧匠的作品。

12 耶和华用自己的能力创造了大地，
用自己的智慧坚立了世界，
又用自己的聪明展开了诸天。
13 他一发声，空中众水就澎湃；
他使云雾从地极上腾；
他造了闪电和雷雨，
又使风从他的仓库里吹出来。
14 人人都是顽梗无知；
所有的金匠都因偶像羞愧，
因为他们铸造的像都是虚假、没有气息的。
15 偶像都是虚无的，是荒谬可笑的作品；
到了讨罪的时候，它们必被除灭。
16 那作雅各产业的并不像这些偶像，
因为他是万物的创造者；
以色列是属他的民族，
万军之耶和华是他的名。
不能逃避的灾祸
17 住在被围困的城中的人哪！
你们从地上拾起自己的行囊。
18 因为耶和华这样说：
“看哪！在这时候，
我要把这地的居民投掷出去；
又使他们受困苦，
以致他们被压倒。”
19 因我的损伤，我有祸了！
我的创伤不能医治；
但我说：“这是我的痛苦，
我必须忍受。”
20 我的帐棚毁坏，
我的绳索都折断了；
我的儿女都离我而去，不在这里了；
再没有人支搭我的帐棚，
挂起我的幔子。
21 牧人都是顽梗的，
他们不求问耶和华；
因此，他们不得亨通，
他们所有的羊群都四散。
22 听哪！有风声传来，
有大骚动从北方之地而来，
要使犹大的城市荒凉，
成为野狗的巢穴。
23 耶和华啊！我知道
人的道路是不由自己的；
人行走时，也不能确定自己的脚步。
24 耶和华啊！求你只按着公正惩治我，
不要按着你的忿怒施行惩治，免得你使我衰微。

10 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
9 Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
10 But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15 They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The Lord of hosts is his name.
17 Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
18 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
