31 耶稣对信仰了他的犹太人说∶“你们如果遵守我的教导，就真正是我的门徒了。 32 你们会认识真理，而真理将使你们获得自由。”
33 他们说∶“我们是亚伯拉罕的子孙，从未做过任何人的奴隶，你怎么说∶‘你们将获得自由’呢？’”
34 耶稣回答他们说∶“我实话告诉你们，凡是继续犯罪的人，都是罪恶的奴隶， 35 奴隶不会和家人呆在一起，但是儿子却永远属于这个家庭。 36 所以，如果人子让你们获得自由，你们才会真正自由。我知道你们是亚伯拉罕的后代， 37 但是，你们却企图杀害我，因为你们不接受我的教导。 38 我所说的都是我从父那里看见的，你们所做的是你们从自己的父亲那里所听到的。”

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
