耶穌的弟弟也不信他

這事以後,耶穌周遊加利利,不願在猶太往來,因為猶太人想要殺他。 猶太人的住棚節快到了, 耶穌的弟弟就對他說:“你應當離開這裡上猶太去,好讓你的門徒也可以看見你所行的事; 因為沒有人想引人注目,卻在暗處行事的。你既然行這些事,就應該向世人顯明自己。” 原來連他的弟弟也不信他。 耶穌就對他們說:“我的時候還沒有到,你們的時候卻常常是方便的。 世人不能恨你們,卻憎恨我,因為我指證他們的行為是邪惡的。 你們上去過節吧!我現在不上去過這個節,因為我的時機還沒有成熟。” 他說了這些話以後,仍然住在加利利。

住棚節時在殿裡教導人

10 然而,他的弟弟上去過節以後,他也上去過節,不是公開地去,卻是暗中地去。 11 過節的時候,猶太人尋找耶穌,說:“那人在哪裡呢?” 12 群眾因他紛紛議論,有的說:“他是好人。”有的說:“不,他是欺騙眾人的。” 13 但沒有人敢公開講論他,因為怕猶太人。

14 節期當中,耶穌上聖殿去教導人。 15 猶太人就希奇,說:“這個人沒有學過,怎會通曉經書呢?” 16 耶穌說:“我的教訓不是我自己的,而是出於那差我來的。 17 人若願意遵行 神的旨意,就會知道這教訓是出於 神,還是我憑著自己的意思說的。 18 那憑著自己的意思說的,是求自己的榮譽;但那尋求差他來者的榮耀的,才是真誠的人,在他裡面沒有不義。 19 摩西不是曾經把律法傳給你們嗎?你們竟然沒有一個人遵行律法。你們為甚麼想要殺我呢?” 20 群眾回答:“你是鬼附的,誰想要殺你呢?” 21 耶穌說:“我行了一件事,你們都以為希奇。 22 摩西曾經把割禮傳給你們(其實割禮不是從摩西開始的,而是從列祖開始的),因此,你們在安息日也給人行割禮。 23 如果人在安息日行割禮,為的是要遵守摩西的律法,那麼我在安息日使一個人全身健康,你們就向我生氣嗎? 24 不要按外貌判斷人,總要公公平平地判斷人。”

他是基督嗎?

25 當時,有些耶路撒冷人說:“這不是他們想要殺的人嗎? 26 你看,他還在公開地講話,竟然沒有人對他說甚麼,難道官長們真的認為這個人就是基督嗎? 27 可是我們知道這個人是從哪裡來的,只是基督來的時候,沒有人知道他是從哪裡來的!” 28 當時耶穌在殿裡教導人,大聲說:“你們以為認識我,也知道我從哪裡來,其實我不是憑著自己的意思來的,但那差我來的是真實的,你們卻不認識他。 29 然而我認識他,因為我從他那裡來,也是他差我來的。” 30 於是他們想逮捕他,只是沒有人下手,因為他的時候還沒有到。 31 群眾中有許多人信了他。他們說:“基督來的時候,他所行的神蹟,能比這人所行的更多嗎?”

法利賽人等想逮捕耶穌

32 法利賽人聽見群眾紛紛議論這些關於耶穌的事,祭司長和法利賽人就派差役去逮捕耶穌。 33 於是耶穌說:“我跟你們在一起的時候不多了,我要回到那差我來的那裡去。 34 你們要尋找我,卻找不著;我所在的地方,你們是不能去的。” 35 猶太人彼此說:“這個人要到哪裡去,使我們找不著他呢?難道他要到散居在希臘人中的猶太人那裡,去教導希臘人嗎? 36 他說‘你們要尋找我,卻找不著;我所在的地方,你們是不能去的’這話,是甚麼意思呢?”

信的人要接受聖靈

37 節期的最後一天,就是最隆重的那一天,耶穌站著高聲說:“人若渴了,可以到我這裡來喝! 38 信我的人,就像聖經所說的,從他的腹中要湧流出活水的江河來。” 39 他這話是指著信他的人要接受聖靈說的;那時聖靈還沒有降臨,因為耶穌還沒有得著榮耀。

群眾因耶穌起了紛爭

40 群眾中有人聽了這些話,就說:“這真是‘那位先知’!” 41 另有人說:“他是基督。”還有人說:“基督是從加利利出來的嗎? 42 聖經不是說基督是大衛的後裔,是從大衛本鄉伯利恆出來的嗎?” 43 群眾因為耶穌的緣故,就起了紛爭。 44 他們中間有人想逮捕耶穌,只是沒有人下手。

官長不信耶穌

45 差役回到祭司長和法利賽人那裡。他們就問差役:“你們為甚麼沒有把他帶來?” 46 差役回答:“從來沒有人像他這樣講話的!” 47 法利賽人說:“連你們也受了欺騙嗎? 48 官長或法利賽人中間有誰是信他的呢? 49 至於這群不明白律法的人,他們是可咒詛的。” 50 他們當中有一個人,就是以前來見耶穌的尼哥德慕,對他們說: 51 “如果不先聽取他本人的口供,查明他所作的事,我們的律法怎能把他定罪呢?” 52 他們回答:“你也是從加利利出來的嗎?你去考查一下,就知道先知是不會從加利利興起的。”

53 於是各人都回家去了。(後期抄本才加上7:53~8:11)

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.

When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

43 So there was a division among the people because of him.

44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

53 And every man went unto his own house.

Jezi avèk frè li yo

Apre sa, Jezi te fè laviwonn teritwa Galile a. Li pa t vle ale nan peyi Jide, paske chèf Jwif yo t ap chache touye li. Se te moman Jwif yo te pral fete Fèt Tant yo. Se poutèt sa frè l yo te di l: “Ou ta sipoze pati ale Jide nan fèt la. Konsa, tout disip ou yo ta wè mirak ou ap fè yo. Si ou vle anpil moun konnen ou, ou pa dwe ap kache sa ou fè. Si ou kapab fè bagay ekstraòdinè sa yo, kite tout moun wè yo.” Frè Jezi yo te pale kon sa paske menm yo menm yo pa t kwè nan li.

Jezi di yo: “Mwen poko pare pou m al Jerizalèm, lè m poko rive. Men, pou nou menm, nou pa gen okenn lè espesyal, tout lè se menm pou nou. Lemonn pa kapab rayi nou. Men lemonn rayi mwen, paske m ap di moun nan lemonn zèv yo pa bon. Alò nou mèt ale. Mwen pa prale kounye a, paske tan pa m nan poko rive.” Lè Jezi fin di sa, li rete nan peyi Galile.

10 Alò frè l yo pati y al nan fèt la. Lè yo fin pati, Jezi pati tou, men l te ale an sekrè. 11 Lidè Jwif yo t ap chache li nan fèt la. Yo t ap di: “Kote nonm nan?”

12 Te gen anpil moun la. Anpil nan yo t ap pale an sekrè antre yo de Jezi. Kèk nan yo te di: “Se yon nonm de byen li ye.” Men kèk lòt t ap di: “Se pa vre, mesye ap twonpe moun yo.” 13 Men pa t gen yon moun ki te brav ase pou l ta pale de li pou tout moun tande. Yo te pè lidè Jwif yo.

Jezi ap anseye nan Jerizalèm

14 Peryòd fèt la te deja nan mwatye konsa, Jezi ale nan tanp lan epi Li te kòmanse anseye. 15 Lidè Jwif yo te sezi epi yo di: “Kòman nonm sa a fè konnen tout bagay sa yo? Li pa te janm etidye menm jan ak nou!”

16 Jezi reponn: “Sa m ap anseye pa soti nan mwen menm. Ansèyman mwen soti nan moun ki voye m nan. 17 Moun ki vle fè sa Bondye vle reyèlman, y ap kapab konnen si ansèyman sa a soti nan Bondye oubyen si li soti nan mwen menm sèlman. 18 Nenpòt moun k ap anseye pwòp panse pa l, l ap chache glwa pou pwòp tèt li. Men yon moun k ap chache glwa pou moun ki voye li, yo kapab kwè l. Yon moun ki aji kon sa p ap nan manti. 19 Moyiz te ban nou Lalwa, pa vre? Men nou pa obeyi Lalwa a. Si nou obeyi Lalwa, pou kisa n ap chache touye m?”

20 Moun yo reponn: “Yon demon fè w fou! Nou p ap eseye touye w pyès.”

21 Jezi di yo: “Mwen te fè yon mirak yon jou saba, epi nou tout te choke. 22 Nou obeyi Lalwa Moyiz te bay sou sikonsizyon an epi pafwa nou fè l nan jou repo a. (Men an reyalite se pa Moyiz ki ban nou sikonsizyon an. Li soti depi zansèt nou yo ki t ap viv anvan Moyiz.) Wi, byen souvan nou sikonsi ti bebe gason yo nan jou repo a. 23 Konsa, nou travay nan jou repo a! Nou retire yon ti moso po nan sèks yon bebe jou repo a! Nou fè sa pou n evite vyole Lalwa Moyiz la! Alò, pou kisa nou leve kont mwen poutèt mwen geri yon nonm totalman nan jou repo a? 24 Ann sispann jije sou laparans. Ann jije yon fason ki dwat.”

25 Kèk nan moun Jerizalèm yo di: “Men nonm y ap eseye wè si yo ta touye a. 26 Men l ap anseye kote tout moun kapab ni wè li ni tande li. Epi pèsonn pa eseye anpeche l fè sa. Petèt lidè yo te deside se li ki Mesi a vrèman. 27 Men, lè vrè Mesi va vini, pèsonn p ap konnen kote l soti. Nonm sa a, nou konnen moun ki kote li ye.”

28 Jezi te kontinye ap anseye kote l te ye nan tanp lan, li di byen fò: “Èske nou konnen ki moun ye ak kote mwen soti vrèman? Mwen vini isit la, men se pa ak pwòp desizyon mwen. Moun ki voye m an merite tout konfyans nou. Men nou pa konnen li. 29 Mwen konnen l paske se kote l mwen soti, epi se li menm ki voye m.”

30 Lè Jezi di sa, moun yo t ap eseye arete li. Men pa t gen yon moun ki te kapab mete men sou Li. Paske jou li pa t ko rive. 31 Men te gen anpil nan moun sa yo ki te kwè nan Jezi. Yo di: “Nonm sa a tèlman fè mirak. Lè Mesi a va vini, èske l ap ka fè plis mirak pase nonm sa a?”

Lidè Jwif yo ap chache arete Jezi

32 Farizyen yo te tande sa moun yo t ap di sou Jezi. Alò, chèf prèt yo mete ak Farizyen yo, yo voye kèk nan moun ki t ap fè polis nan tanp lan pou arete li. 33 Alò Jezi di: “Mwen avèk nou pou yon ti kras tan ankò. Epi m ap retounen jwenn moun ki te voye m nan. 34 Nou va chache m, men nou p ap jwenn mwen. Epi nou p ap kapab vini kote m prale a non plis.”

35 Jwif yo t ap di antre yo: “Ki kote pou nonm sa a ale pou nou pa jwen li? Èske se nan vil Grèk yo li pral abite, kote moun pa nou yo ye? Èske li pral anseye Grèk yo laba a?” 36 Yo t ap mande youn lòt, “Ki sa Jezi te vle di lè l di: Nou va chache m, men nou p ap jwenn mwen, epi Nou p ap kapab ale kote m prale a?”

Jezi pale osijè Sentespri a

37 Dènye jou fèt la te rive. Se jou pi ki enpòtan an. Nan Jou sa a, Jezi kanpe epi li di byen fò: “Nenpòt moun ki swaf kapab vini jwenn mwen, epi nenpòt moun ki kwè nan mwen va bwè! 38 Si yon moun kwè nan mwen, Bib la di sous dlo va koule soti nan kè li.” 39 Se te de Lespri Bondye a Jezi t ap pale. Moun ap fè diskisyon sou Jezi

40 Lè moun yo te tande sa Jezi di yo, gen nan yo ki di: “Nonm sa a se Pwofèt[a] la vre.”

41 Te gen lòt moun ki t ap di: “Se li menm ki Kris la.”

Te gen lòt ankò ki t ap di: “Kris la p ap soti nan Galile, pa vre? 42 Bib la di Kris la ap soti nan fanmi David. Epi yo di se Bètleyèm l ap soti, lavil kote David te rete a.” 43 Konsa tout moun pa te gen menm opinyon sou Jezi. 44 Kèk nan yo te vle arete Li. Men pèsonn pa t eseye fè sa.

Yon fanm yo kenbe nan adiltè
