耶稣被捕
18 耶稣祷告完毕，就带着门徒渡过汲沦溪，进了那里的一个园子。 2 因为耶稣时常带着门徒到那里聚会，所以出卖耶稣的犹大也知道那地方。 3 这时，犹大带着一队士兵以及祭司长和法利赛人的差役，拿着灯笼、火把和兵器来了。 4 耶稣早就知道将要发生在自己身上的一切事，于是出来问他们：“你们找谁？”
5 他们回答说：“拿撒勒人耶稣！”
耶稣说：“我就是。”那时出卖耶稣的犹大也站在他们当中。
6 他们听到耶稣说“我就是”，便后退跌倒在地上。
7 耶稣又问：“你们找谁？”
他们说：“拿撒勒人耶稣。”

彼得不认主

17 看门的女仆问彼得：“你不也是这个人的门徒吗？”
他说：“我不是。”
18 天气很冷，奴仆和差役生了一堆火，站着烤火取暖，彼得也跟他们站在一起烤火取暖。 19 此时，大祭司正在盘问耶稣有关祂的门徒和祂的教导之事。
20 耶稣说：“我是公开对世人讲的，我常在犹太人聚集的会堂和圣殿教导人，没有在背地里讲过什么。 21 你何必问我呢？问那些听过我讲的人吧，他们知道我讲过什么。”
22 耶稣话才说完，站在旁边的差役就打了祂一耳光，说：“你敢这样回答大祭司！”
23 耶稣说：“如果我说错了，你可以指出我错在哪里。如果我说的对，你为什么打我呢？”
24 亚那把被捆绑起来的耶稣押到大祭司该亚法那里。
25 那时西门·彼得仍然站着烤火，有人问他：“你不也是那人的门徒吗？”
彼得否认说：“我不是！”
26 一个大祭司的奴仆，就是被彼得削掉耳朵的那个人的亲戚说：“我不是看见你和祂一起在园子里吗？” 27 彼得再次否认。就在那时，鸡叫了。
彼拉多审问耶稣
28 黎明的时候，众人从该亚法那里把耶稣押往总督府，他们自己却没有进去，因为怕沾染污秽，不能吃逾越节的晚餐。 29 彼拉多出来问他们：“你们控告这个人什么罪？”
30 他们回答说：“如果祂没有为非作歹，我们也不会把祂送到你这里来。”
31 彼拉多说：“你们把祂带走，按照你们的律法去审理吧。”
犹太人说：“可是我们无权把人处死。” 32 这是要应验耶稣预言自己会怎样死的话。
33 彼拉多回到总督府提审耶稣，问道：“你是犹太人的王吗？”
34 耶稣回答说：“你这样问是你自己的意思还是听别人说的？”
35 彼拉多说：“难道我是犹太人吗？是你们犹太人和祭司长把你送来的。你到底犯了什么罪？”
36 耶稣答道：“我的国不属于这个世界，如果我的国属于这个世界，我的臣仆早就起来争战了，我也不会被交在犹太人的手里。但我的国不属于这个世界。”
37 于是彼拉多对祂说：“那么，你是王吗？”
耶稣说：“你说我是王，我正是为此而生，也为此来到世上为真理做见证，属于真理的人都听从我的话。”
38 彼拉多说：“真理是什么？”说完了，又到外面对犹太人说：“我查不出祂有什么罪。 39 不过按照惯例，在逾越节的时候，我要给你们释放一个人。现在，你们要我释放这个犹太人的王吗？”
40 众人又高喊：“不要这个人！我们要巴拉巴！”巴拉巴是个强盗。

Arresto de Jesús (Mt 26,47-56; Mc 14,43-50; Lc 22,47-53)
18 Dicho esto, salió Jesús acompañado de sus discípulos, pasaron al otro lado del torrente Cedrón y entraron en un huerto. 2 Este lugar era bien conocido de Judas, el traidor, ya que Jesús acudía frecuentemente a él con sus discípulos.
3 Así pues, Judas tomó consigo un destacamento de soldados y guardias puestos a su disposición por los jefes de los sacerdotes y los fariseos, y se dirigió a aquel lugar. Además de las armas, llevaban antorchas y faroles. 4 Jesús, que sabía perfectamente todo lo que iba a sucederle, salió a su encuentro y les preguntó:
— ¿A quién buscáis?
5 Ellos le contestaron:
— A Jesús de Nazaret.
Jesús les dijo:
— Yo soy.
Judas, el traidor, estaba con ellos. 6 Al decirles Jesús: “Yo soy”, se echaron atrás y cayeron en tierra. 7 Jesús les preguntó otra vez:
— ¿A quién buscáis?

— A Jesús de Nazaret.
8 Jesús les dijo:
— Ya os he dicho que soy yo. Por tanto, si me buscáis a mí, dejad que estos se vayan.
9 (Así se cumplió lo que él mismo había dicho: “No he perdido a ninguno de los que me confiaste”). 10 Entonces Simón Pedro, que tenía una espada, la desenvainó e hirió con ella a un criado del sumo sacerdote, cortándole la oreja derecha. (Este criado se llamaba Malco). 11 Pero Jesús dijo a Pedro:
— Envaina la espada. ¿Es que no he de beber esta copa de amargura que el Padre me ha destinado?
12 La tropa, con su comandante al frente, y los guardias judíos arrestaron a Jesús y lo maniataron.
Jesús llevado ante Anás
13 Llevaron primero a Jesús a casa de Anás, que era suegro de Caifás, el sumo sacerdote de aquel año. 14 (Este Caifás era el que había dado a los judíos aquel consejo: “Es conveniente que muera un solo hombre por el pueblo”).
Primera negación de Pedro (Mt 26,69-70; Mc 14,66-68; Lc 22,54b-57)
15 Simón Pedro y otro discípulo se fueron detrás de Jesús. Este discípulo, que era conocido del sumo sacerdote, entró al mismo tiempo que Jesús en la mansión del sumo sacerdote. 16 Pedro, en cambio, tuvo que quedarse afuera, a la puerta, hasta que salió el otro discípulo, el conocido del sumo sacerdote, habló con la portera y consiguió que lo dejaran entrar. 17 Pero la criada que hacía de portera se fijó en Pedro y le preguntó:
— ¿No eres tú de los discípulos de ese hombre?
Pedro contestó:
— No, no lo soy.
18 Como hacía frío, los criados y los guardias habían encendido una hoguera y estaban allí de pie, calentándose. También Pedro se quedó de pie junto a ellos, calentándose.
Anás interroga a Jesús
19 El sumo sacerdote interrogó a Jesús sobre sus discípulos y sobre su enseñanza. 20 Jesús le respondió:
— Yo he hablado siempre en público a todo el mundo. He enseñado en las sinagogas y en el Templo, donde se reúnen todos los judíos. No he enseñado nada clandestinamente. 21 ¿A qué viene este interrogatorio? Pregunta a mis oyentes; ellos te informarán sobre lo que he dicho.
22 Al oír esta respuesta, uno de los guardias que estaban junto a Jesús le dio una bofetada, al tiempo que lo increpaba:
— ¿Cómo te atreves a contestar así al sumo sacerdote?
23 Jesús le replicó:
— Si he hablado mal, demuéstrame en qué; pero si he hablado bien, ¿por qué me pegas?
Jesús llevado ante Caifás y nueva negación de Pedro (Mt 26,57.71-75; Mc 14,53.69-72; Lc 22,54a.58-62)
24 Entonces Anás envió a Jesús atado a Caifás, el sumo sacerdote, 25 mientras Simón Pedro seguía allí de pie, calentándose. Alguien le preguntó:
— ¿No eres tú también uno de los discípulos de ese hombre?
Pedro lo negó diciendo:
— No, no lo soy.
26 Pero uno de los criados del sumo sacerdote, pariente de aquel a quien Pedro cortó la oreja, le replicó:
— ¿Cómo que no? ¡Yo mismo te vi en el huerto con él!
27 Pedro volvió a negarlo. Y en aquel momento cantó un gallo.
Jesús ante Pilato (Mt 27,1-2.11-14; Mc 15,1-5; Lc 23,1-5)
28 Condujeron a Jesús de casa de Caifás al palacio del gobernador. Era muy de mañana. Los judíos no entraron en el palacio para no contraer una impureza legal que les habría impedido participar en la cena de Pascua. 29 Por eso tuvo que salir Pilato para preguntarles:
— ¿De qué acusáis a este hombre?
30 Ellos le contestaron:
— Si no fuese un criminal, no te lo habríamos entregado.
31 Pilato les dijo:
— Muy bien, lleváoslo y juzgadlo según vuestra ley.
Los judíos replicaron:
— Nosotros no tenemos autoridad para dar muerte a nadie.
32 Y es que tenía que cumplirse lo que Jesús había anunciado sobre la clase de muerte que iba a sufrir. 33 Entonces Pilato volvió a entrar en su palacio, mandó traer a Jesús y le preguntó:
— ¿Eres tú el rey de los judíos?
34 Contestó Jesús:
— ¿Me haces esa pregunta por tu cuenta o te la han sugerido otros?
35 Pilato replicó:
— ¿Acaso soy yo judío? Son los de tu propia nación y los jefes de los sacerdotes los que te han entregado a mí. ¿Qué es lo que has hecho?
36 Jesús respondió:
— Mi reino no es de este mundo. Si lo fuera, mis servidores habrían luchado para librarme de los judíos. Pero no, mi reino no es de este mundo.
37 Pilato insistió:
— Entonces, ¿eres rey?
Jesús le respondió:
— Soy rey, como tú dices. Y mi misión consiste en dar testimonio de la verdad. Precisamente para eso nací y para eso vine al mundo. Todo el que ama la verdad escucha mi voz.
38 Pilato repuso:
— ¿Y qué es la verdad?
Jesús y Barrabás (Mt 27,15-17.20-21; Mc 15,6-11; Lc 23,17-19)
Dicho esto, Pilato salió de nuevo y dijo a los judíos:
— Yo no encuentro delito alguno en este hombre. 39 Pero como tenéis la costumbre de que durante la fiesta de la Pascua os ponga en libertad a un preso, ¿queréis que deje en libertad al rey de los judíos?
40 Ellos, entonces, se pusieron de nuevo a gritar:
— ¡No, a ese no! ¡Deja en libertad a Barrabás!
(El tal Barrabás era un bandido).

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21 Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22 And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

18 Having said these things, Jesus went out with His disciples beyond (across) the winter torrent of the Kidron [in the ravine]. There was a garden there, which He and His disciples entered.
2 And Judas, who was betraying Him and delivering Him up, also knew the place, because Jesus had often retired there with His disciples.
3 So Judas, obtaining and taking charge of the band of soldiers and some guards (attendants) of the high priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Then Jesus, knowing all that was about to befall Him, went out to them and said, Whom are you seeking? [Whom do you want?]
5 They answered Him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus said to them, I am He. Judas, who was betraying Him, was also standing with them.
6 When Jesus said to them, I am He, they went backwards (drew back, lurched backward) and fell to the ground.
7 Then again He asked them, Whom are you seeking? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
8 Jesus answered, I told you that I am He. So, if you want Me [if it is only I for Whom you are looking], let these men go their way.
9 Thus what He had said was fulfilled and verified, Of those whom You have given Me, I have not lost even one.(A)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
11 Therefore, Jesus said to Peter, Put the sword [back] into the sheath! The cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?
12 So the troops and their captain and the guards (attendants) of the Jews seized Jesus and bound Him,
13 And they brought Him first to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year.
14 It was Caiaphas who had counseled the Jews that it was expedient and for their welfare that one man should die for (instead of, in behalf of) the people.(B)
15 Now Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. And that disciple was known to the high priest, and so he entered along with Jesus into the court of the palace of the high priest;
16 But Peter was standing outside at the door. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the maid who kept the door and brought Peter inside.
17 Then the maid who was in charge at the door said to Peter, You are not also one of the disciples of this [a]Man, are you? He said, I am not!
18 Now the servants and the guards (the attendants) had made a fire of coals, for it was cold, and they were standing and warming themselves. And Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.
19 Then the high priest questioned Jesus about His disciples and about His teaching.
20 Jesus answered him, I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in a synagogue and in the temple [area], where the Jews [habitually] congregate (assemble); and I have spoken nothing secretly.
21 Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard [Me] what I said to them. See! They know what I said.
22 But when He said this, one of the attendants who stood by struck Jesus, saying, Is that how [b]You answer the high priest?
23 Jesus replied, If I have said anything wrong [if I have spoken abusively, if there was evil in what I said] tell what was wrong with it. But if I spoke rightly and properly, why do you strike Me?
24 Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
25 But Simon Peter [still] was standing and was warming himself. They said to him, You are not also one of His disciples, are you? He denied it and said, I am not!
26 One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did I not see you in the garden with Him?
27 And again Peter denied it. And immediately a rooster crowed.
28 Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium (judgment hall, governor’s palace). And it was early. They themselves did not enter the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled (become ceremonially unclean), but might be fit to eat the Passover [supper].
29 So Pilate went out to them and said, What accusation do you bring against this [c]Man?
30 They retorted, If He were not an evildoer (criminal), we would not have handed Him over to you.
31 Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and judge and sentence and punish Him according to your [own] law. The Jews answered, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.
32 This was to fulfill the word which Jesus had spoken to show (indicate, predict) by what manner of death He was to die.(C)
33 So Pilate went back again into the judgment hall and called Jesus and asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus replied, Are you saying this of yourself [on your own initiative], or have others told you about Me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your [own] people and nation and their chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, My kingdom is not from here (this world); [it has no such origin or source].
37 Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice.
38 Pilate said to Him, What is Truth? On saying this he went out to the Jews again and told them, I find no fault in Him.
39 But it is your custom that I release one [prisoner] for you at the Passover. So shall I release for you the King of the Jews?
40 Then they all shouted back again, Not Him [not this Man], but Barabbas! Now Barabbas was a robber.

Jesus Arrested(A)
18 When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley.(B) On the other side there was a garden,(C) and he and his disciples went into it.(D)
2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.(E) 3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding(F) a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees.(G) They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him,(H) went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”(I)
5 “Jesus of Nazareth,”(J) they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Again he asked them, “Who is it you want?”(K)
“Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.
8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](L)

11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(M) the Father has given me?”
12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials(N) arrested Jesus. They bound him 13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas,(O) the high priest that year. 14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.(P)
Peter’s First Denial(Q)
15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest,(R) he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,(S) 16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17 “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter.
He replied, “I am not.”(T)
18 It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire(U) they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.(V)
The High Priest Questions Jesus(W)
19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
20 “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues(X) or at the temple,(Y) where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.(Z) 21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.”
22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials(AA) nearby slapped him in the face.(AB) “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” he demanded.
23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”(AC) 24 Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas(AD) the high priest.
Peter’s Second and Third Denials(AE)
25 Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself.(AF) So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?”
He denied it, saying, “I am not.”(AG)
26 One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off,(AH) challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”(AI) 27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.(AJ)
Jesus Before Pilate(AK)
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.(AL) By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace,(AM) because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.(AN) 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. 32 This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die.(AO)
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace,(AP) summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”(AQ)
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom(AR) is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders.(AS) But now my kingdom is from another place.”(AT)
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.(AU) Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”(AV)
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.(AW) 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
40 They shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.(AX)
