上帝的儿女

3 你们看，父上帝何等爱我们，称我们为祂的儿女！我们也实在是祂的儿女，世人之所以不认识我们，是因为他们不认识父上帝。 2 亲爱的弟兄姊妹，我们现在是上帝的儿女，将来如何还未显明。但我们知道，当主显现的时候，我们必会像祂，因为我们必见到祂的本体。 3 凡心存这种盼望的人都会自洁，因为主是圣洁的。

4 犯罪的人都违背上帝的律法，违背上帝的律法就是罪。 5 你们知道，耶稣降世是为了除掉人的罪，祂自己并没有罪。 6 住在祂里面的人不会一直犯罪；一直犯罪的人既没见过祂也不认识祂。

7 孩子们，不要受人迷惑，要知道行义的才是义人，正如主是公义的。 8 一直犯罪的人是属魔鬼的，因为魔鬼从起初便犯罪，但上帝儿子的显现是为了摧毁魔鬼的工作。 9 从上帝生的人不会继续犯罪，因为他里面有上帝的生命[a]。他不能犯罪，因为他是从上帝生的。 10 这样，就可以看出谁是上帝的儿女，谁是魔鬼的儿女。凡不按公义行事、不爱弟兄姊妹的，都不是上帝的儿女。

彼此相爱

11 我们应当彼此相爱，这是你们起初听见的信息。 12 不要步该隐的后尘。他属于那恶者，杀害了自己的弟弟。他为什么要杀害自己的弟弟呢？因为他的行为邪恶，而他弟弟秉行公义。

13 弟兄姊妹，世人若恨你们，不要惊奇。 14 我们因爱弟兄姊妹，便知道自己已经出死入生了。不爱弟兄姊妹的，仍然陷在死亡中。 15 恨弟兄姊妹的就是杀人的，你们知道杀人的没有永生。 16 主耶稣为我们舍命，我们由此便知道什么是爱，我们也应当为弟兄姊妹舍命。 17 如果一个丰衣足食的人看见贫穷的弟兄姊妹，却毫无怜悯之心，怎能说他爱上帝呢？ 18 所以，孩子们啊，不要单在口头上说爱人，总要以真诚的行动表现出来。

19-20 这样，我们必知道自己属于真理，即使我们心中自责，也可以在上帝面前心安，因为上帝比我们的心大，祂知道一切。

21 亲爱的弟兄姊妹，我们若能凡事问心无愧，就可以在上帝面前坦然无惧。 22 这样，我们无论向上帝祈求什么，都必得到，因为我们遵守祂的命令，做祂喜悦的事。 23 其实上帝的命令是：我们要信祂儿子耶稣基督的名，遵照祂的命令彼此相爱。 24 遵行上帝命令的人就住在上帝里面，上帝也住在他里面。我们借着上帝赐给我们的圣灵知道：祂住在我们里面。

3 Masdan ninyo kung gaanong pagibig ang ipinagkaloob sa atin ng Ama, upang tayo'y mangatawag na mga anak ng Dios; at tayo'y gayon nga. Dahil dito'y hindi tayo nakikilala ng sanglibutan, sapagka't siya'y hindi nakilala nito.

2 Mga minamahal, ngayon ay mga anak tayo ng Dios, at hindi pa nahahayag kung magiging ano tayo. Nalalaman natin, na kung siya'y mahayag, tayo'y magiging katulad niya: sapagka't siya'y ating makikitang gaya ng kaniyang sarili.

3 At sinomang mayroon ng pagasang ito sa kaniya ay naglilinis sa kaniyang sarili, gaya naman niyang malinis.

4 Ang sinomang gumagawa ng kasalanan ay sumasalangsang din naman sa kautusan: at ang kasalanan ay ang pagsalangsang sa kautusan.

5 At nalalaman ninyo na siya'y nahayag upang magalis ng mga kasalanan; at sa kaniya'y walang kasalanan.

6 Ang sinomang nananahan sa kaniya ay hindi nagkakasala; sinomang nagkakasala ay hindi nakakita sa kaniya, ni hindi man nakakilala sa kaniya.

7 Mumunti kong mga anak, huwag kayong padaya kanino man: ang gumagawa ng katuwiran ay matuwid, gaya niya na matuwid:

8 Ang gumagawa ng kasalanan ay sa diablo; sapagka't buhat pa nang pasimula ay nagkakasala ang diablo. Sa bagay na ito'y nahayag ang Anak ng Dios, upang iwasak ang mga gawa ng diablo.

9 Ang sinomang ipinanganak ng Dios ay hindi nagkakasala, sapagka't ang kaniyang binhi ay nananahan sa kaniya: at siya'y hindi maaaring magkasala, sapagka't siya'y ipinanganak ng Dios.

10 Dito nahahayag ang mga anak ng Dios, at ang mga anak ng diablo: ang sinomang hindi gumagawa ng katuwiran ay hindi sa Dios, ni ang hindi umiibig sa kaniyang kapatid.

11 Sapagka't ito ang pasabing inyong narinig buhat ng pasimula, na mangagibigan tayo sa isa't isa:

12 Hindi gaya ni Cain na siya'y sa masama, at pinatay ang kaniyang kapatid. At bakit niya pinatay? Sapagka't ang kaniyang mga gawa ay masasama, at ang mga gawa ng kaniyang kapatid ay matuwid.

13 Huwag kayong mangagtaka, mga kapatid, kung kayo'y kinapopootan ng sanglibutan.

14 Nalalaman nating tayo'y nangalipat na sa buhay mula sa kamatayan, sapagka't tayo'y nagsisiibig sa mga kapatid. Ang hindi umiibig ay nananahan sa kamatayan.

15 Ang sinomang napopoot sa kaniyang kapatid ay mamamatay-tao: at nalalaman ninyong sinomang mamamatay-tao ay hindi pinananahanan ng buhay na walang hanggan.

16 Dito'y nakikilala natin ang pagibig, sapagka't kaniyang ibinigay ang kaniyang buhay dahil sa atin; at nararapat nating ibigay ang ating mga buhay dahil sa mga kapatid.

17 Datapuwa't ang sinomang mayroong mga pag-aari sa sanglibutang ito, at nakikita ang kaniyang kapatid na nangangailangan, at doo'y ipagkait ang kaniyang awa, paanong mananahan ang pagibig ng Dios sa kaniya?

18 Mumunti kong mga anak, huwag tayong magsiibig ng salita, ni ng dila man; kundi ng gawa at katotohanan.

19 Dito'y makikilala nating tayo'y sa katotohanan, at papapanatagin natin ang ating mga puso sa harapan niya.

20 Sapagka't kung hinahatulan tayo ng ating puso, ang Dios ay lalong dakila kay sa ating puso, at nalalaman niya ang lahat ng mga bagay.

21 Mga minamahal, kung tayo'y hindi hinahatulan ng ating puso, ay may pagkakatiwala tayo sa Dios;

22 At anomang ating hingin ay tinatanggap natin sa kaniya, sapagka't tinutupad natin ang kaniyang mga utos at ginagawa natin ang mga bagay na kalugodlugod sa kaniyang paningin.

23 At ito ang kaniyang utos, na manampalataya tayo sa pangalan ng kaniyang Anak na si Jesucristo, at tayo'y mangagibigan, ayon sa ibinigay niyang utos sa atin.

24 At ang tumutupad ng kaniyang mga utos ay mananahan sa kaniya, at siya ay sa kaniya. At dito'y nakikilala natin na siya'y nananahan sa atin, sa pamamagitan ng Espiritu na kaniyang ibinigay sa atin.

New International Version

3 See what great love(A) the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!(B) And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.(C) 2 Dear friends,(D) now we are children of God,(E) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a](F) we shall be like him,(G) for we shall see him as he is.(H) 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves,(I) just as he is pure.(J)

4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.(K) 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins.(L) And in him is no sin.(M) 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.(N) No one who continues to sin has either seen him(O) or known him.(P)

7 Dear children,(Q) do not let anyone lead you astray.(R) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.(S) 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil,(T) because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God(U) appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.(V) 9 No one who is born of God(W) will continue to sin,(X) because God’s seed(Y) remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God(Z) are and who the children of the devil(AA) are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love(AB) their brother and sister.(AC)

11 For this is the message you heard(AD) from the beginning:(AE) We should love one another.(AF) 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one(AG) and murdered his brother.(AH) And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.(AI) 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters,[b] if the world hates you.(AJ) 14 We know that we have passed from death to life,(AK) because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.(AL) 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister(AM) is a murderer,(AN) and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.(AO)

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.(AP) And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.(AQ) 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them,(AR) how can the love of God be in that person?(AS) 18 Dear children,(AT) let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.(AU)

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends,(AV) if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God(AW) 22 and receive from him anything we ask,(AX) because we keep his commands(AY) and do what pleases him.(AZ) 23 And this is his command: to believe(BA) in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,(BB) and to love one another as he commanded us.(BC) 24 The one who keeps God’s commands(BD) lives in him,(BE) and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.(BF)

De aceea nu ne cunoaşte lumea: pentru că nu L-a cunoscut nici pe El. 2 Preaiubiţilor, acum suntem copii ai lui Dumnezeu. Şi ce vom fi, n-a fost arătat încă, dar ştim că, atunci când Se va arăta El[a], vom fi asemenea Lui, pentru că-L vom vedea aşa cum este. 3 Oricine are nădejdea aceasta în El se curăţeşte, aşa cum şi El este curat.

4 Oricine comite păcatul, comite şi fărădelegea; iar păcatul este fărădelege. 5 Ştiţi că El a fost arătat ca să îndepărteze păcatele; şi în El nu este păcat. 6 Oricine rămâne în El nu păcătuieşte; oricine păcătuieşte, nu L-a văzut, nici nu L-a cunoscut. 7 Copilaşilor, nimeni să nu vă înşele! Cel ce înfăptuieşte dreptatea este drept, aşa cum El este drept. 8 Cel ce trăieşte în păcat este de la diavolul[b], pentru că diavolul păcătuieşte de la început. Tocmai pentru aceasta a fost arătat Fiul lui Dumnezeu: ca să distrugă lucrările diavolului. 9 Oricine este născut din Dumnezeu nu mai trăieşte în păcat, pentru că sămânţa lui Dumnezeu rămâne în el; şi el nu poate continua să păcătuiască, fiindcă a fost născut din Dumnezeu. 10 Prin aceasta sunt scoşi la iveală copiii lui Dumnezeu şi copiii diavolului: oricine nu înfăptuieşte dreptatea nu este de la Dumnezeu, şi nici cel ce nu-l iubeşte pe fratele său.

11 Acesta este mesajul pe care l-aţi auzit de la început: să ne iubim unii pe alţii, 12 nu ca şi Cain, care era de la cel rău şi care l-a ucis pe fratele lui. Şi de ce l-a omorât? Pentru că faptele lui erau rele, iar ale fratelui său erau drepte. 13 Nu vă miraţi, fraţilor, dacă lumea vă urăşte. 14 Noi ştim că am trecut de la moarte la viaţă pentru că îi iubim pe fraţi; cine nu iubeşte rămâne în moarte. 15 Oricine îşi urăşte fratele este un ucigaş; şi ştiţi că nici un ucigaş nu are viaţa veşnică rămânând[c] în el. 16 Prin aceasta am cunoscut dragostea: că El Şi-a dat viaţa pentru noi. Şi noi deci suntem datori să ne dăm viaţa pentru fraţi. 17 Dacă însă cineva are bunurile acestei lumi şi-l vede pe fratele său în nevoi, dar îşi închide inima faţă de el, atunci cum rămâne în el dragostea lui Dumnezeu?! 18 Copilaşilor, să nu iubim cu vorba, nici cu limba, ci prin faptă şi adevăr!

19 Prin aceasta vom cunoaşte că suntem din adevăr şi ne vom încredinţa inimile în prezenţa Lui, 20 oricând ne-ar condamna inimile noastre. Căci Dumnezeu este mai mare decât inimile noastre şi cunoaşte totul. 21 Preaiubiţilor, dacă nu ne condamnă inimile noastre, avem îndrăzneală înaintea lui Dumnezeu, 22 iar dacă cerem ceva, primim de la El, pentru că păzim poruncile Lui şi facem ce este plăcut înaintea Lui. 23 Iar porunca Lui este aceasta: să credem în Numele Fiului Său, Isus Cristos, şi să ne iubim unii pe alţii aşa cum ne-a poruncit. 24 Cel ce păzeşte poruncile Lui rămâne în El, iar El în acesta. Prin aceasta cunoaştem că El rămâne în noi: prin Duhul pe Care ni L-a dat.
