以利戶向約伯與三友發怒
32 因為約伯自以為義，於是這三個人就不再回答他。 2 那時，布西人蘭族巴拉迦的兒子以利戶發怒了；他向約伯發怒，因為他在 神面前自以為義。 3 他又向約伯的三個朋友發怒，因為他們雖然仍以約伯為有罪，卻找不到回答的話來。 4 以利戶等待著要向約伯說話，因為他們的年紀都比以利戶大。 5 以利戶一見這三個人的口裡無話回答，他就發怒了。
以利戶發言陳述己見
6 布西人巴拉迦的兒子以利戶回答說：
“我年紀輕，你們年紀大，
因此我拘束畏懼，不敢向你們表達我的意見。
7 我心裡想：‘年長的當先說話，
壽高的當以智慧教訓人。’
8 但是在人心裡面有靈，
全能者的氣息使人有聰明。
9 年紀大的不都有智慧，
年老的不都能明白是非，
10 因此我說：‘你們要聽我說話，
我也要說出我的意見。’
11 你們砌詞說話的時候，
我等待著你們的話，
留心聽你們的理論。
12 我留意聽你們，
不料，你們中間沒有人能駁倒約伯，
駁回他所說的話。
13 你們不要說：‘我們尋得了智慧；
能勝過他的，是 神，不是人。’
14 約伯沒有用他的話攻擊我，
我也不用你們的話回答他。
15 他們驚惶失措，不再回應，
他們沒有甚麼可說的話了。
16 因為他們不說話，因為他們站著不再回應，
我就等待嗎？
17 我也要回答我的一份話，
我也要表達我的意見，
18 因為我充滿了要說的話，
我裡面的靈催逼我說出來。
19 我裡面如盛酒的囊，沒有出氣的地方，
又如新酒袋，快要破裂。
20 我要說話，使我可以舒暢，
我要開口回答。
21 我必不徇人的情面，
也不奉承人，
22 因為我不曉得怎樣奉承。
不然，我的創造主很快就把我除去。”

Eliú justifica su derecho de contestar a Job
32 Cesaron estos tres varones de responder a Job, por cuanto él era justo a sus propios ojos. 2 Entonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel buzita, de la familia de Ram, se encendió en ira contra Job; se encendió en ira, por cuanto se justificaba a sí mismo más que a Dios. 3 Asimismo se encendió en ira contra sus tres amigos, porque no hallaban qué responder, aunque habían condenado a Job. 4 Y Eliú había esperado a Job en la disputa, porque los otros eran más viejos que él. 5 Pero viendo Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de aquellos tres varones, se encendió en ira. 6 Y respondió Eliú hijo de Baraquel buzita, y dijo:
Yo soy joven, y vosotros ancianos;
Por tanto, he tenido miedo, y he temido declararos mi opinión.
7 Yo decía: Los días hablarán,
Y la muchedumbre de años declarará sabiduría.
8 Ciertamente espíritu hay en el hombre,
Y el soplo del Omnipotente le hace que entienda.
9 No son los sabios los de mucha edad,
Ni los ancianos entienden el derecho.
10 Por tanto, yo dije: Escuchadme;
Declararé yo también mi sabiduría.
11 He aquí yo he esperado a vuestras razones,
He escuchado vuestros argumentos,
En tanto que buscabais palabras.
12 Os he prestado atención,
Y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya a Job,
Y responda a sus razones.
13 Para que no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría;
Lo vence Dios, no el hombre.
14 Ahora bien, Job no dirigió contra mí sus palabras,
Ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.
15 Se espantaron, no respondieron más;
Se les fueron los razonamientos.
16 Yo, pues, he esperado, pero no hablaban;
Más bien callaron y no respondieron más.
17 Por eso yo también responderé mi parte;
También yo declararé mi juicio.
18 Porque lleno estoy de palabras,
Y me apremia el espíritu dentro de mí.
19 De cierto mi corazón está como el vino que no tiene respiradero,
Y se rompe como odres nuevos.
20 Hablaré, pues, y respiraré;
Abriré mis labios, y responderé.
21 No haré ahora acepción de personas,
Ni usaré con nadie de títulos lisonjeros.
22 Porque no sé hablar lisonjas;
De otra manera, en breve mi Hacedor me consumiría.

32 So these three men stopped answering Job,(A) because he was righteous in his own eyes.(B) 2 But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite,(C) of the family of Ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself(D) rather than God.(E) 3 He was also angry with the three friends,(F) because they had found no way to refute Job,(G) and yet had condemned him.[a](H) 4 Now Elihu had waited before speaking to Job because they were older than he.(I) 5 But when he saw that the three men had nothing more to say, his anger was aroused.
6 So Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite said:
“I am young in years,
and you are old;(J)
that is why I was fearful,
not daring to tell you what I know.
7 I thought, ‘Age should speak;
advanced years should teach wisdom.’(K)
8 But it is the spirit[b](L) in a person,
the breath of the Almighty,(M) that gives them understanding.(N)
9 It is not only the old[c] who are wise,(O)
not only the aged(P) who understand what is right.(Q)
10 “Therefore I say: Listen to me;(R)
I too will tell you what I know.(S)
11 I waited while you spoke,
I listened to your reasoning;
while you were searching for words,
12 I gave you my full attention.
But not one of you has proved Job wrong;
none of you has answered his arguments.(T)
13 Do not say, ‘We have found wisdom;(U)
let God, not a man, refute(V) him.’
14 But Job has not marshaled his words against me,(W)
and I will not answer him with your arguments.
15 “They are dismayed and have no more to say;
words have failed them.(X)
16 Must I wait, now that they are silent,
now that they stand there with no reply?
17 I too will have my say;
I too will tell what I know.(Y)
18 For I am full of words,
and the spirit(Z) within me compels me;(AA)
19 inside I am like bottled-up wine,
like new wineskins ready to burst.(AB)
20 I must speak and find relief;
I must open my lips and reply.(AC)
21 I will show no partiality,(AD)
nor will I flatter anyone;(AE)
22 for if I were skilled in flattery,
my Maker(AF) would soon take me away.(AG)
