18 書亞人比勒達回答說：
2 「你要狡辯到何時呢？
你先想清楚，然後我們再談。
3 為何你把我們當作牲畜，
把我們視為蠢貨？
4 你這氣得要撕碎自己的人，
大地會因你而荒涼嗎？
磐石會因你而挪移嗎？
5 「惡人的光必熄滅。
他的火焰不再閃耀。
6 他帳篷中一片黑暗，
他上面的燈光熄滅。
7 惡人強勁的步伐變得蹣跚，
他必被自己的陰謀所害。
8 他自陷網羅，
步入圈套。
9 套索纏住他的腳跟，
網羅緊緊地罩住他。
10 土裡埋著絆他的繩索，
路上有陷阱等待著他。
11 恐懼四面籠罩著他，
步步緊追著他。
12 他餓得氣力衰竭，
災禍隨時臨到他。
13 疾病侵蝕他的皮肉，
死亡吞噬他的肢體。
14 他被拖出安穩的帳篷，
被押到冥王[a]那裡。
15 他的帳篷燃燒著烈焰，
他的居所撒滿了硫磺。
16 他下面的根莖枯乾，
上面的枝子枯萎。
17 他從世上銷聲匿跡，
無人記得他的名字。
18 他從光明中被趕入黑暗，

他所居之地無人生還。
20 他的下場令西方的人震驚，
令東方的人戰慄。
21 這就是不義之人的結局，

Bildad Speaks: God Punishes the Wicked
18 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered:
2 “How long will you hunt for words?
Consider, and then we shall speak.
3 Why are we counted as cattle?
Why are we stupid in your sight?
4 You who tear yourself in your anger—
shall the earth be forsaken because of you,
or the rock be removed out of its place?
5 “Surely the light of the wicked is put out,
and the flame of their fire does not shine.
6 The light is dark in their tent,
and the lamp above them is put out.
7 Their strong steps are shortened,
and their own schemes throw them down.
8 For they are thrust into a net by their own feet,
and they walk into a pitfall.
9 A trap seizes them by the heel;
a snare lays hold of them.
10 A rope is hid for them in the ground,
a trap for them in the path.
11 Terrors frighten them on every side,
and chase them at their heels.
12 Their strength is consumed by hunger,[a]
and calamity is ready for their stumbling.
13 By disease their skin is consumed,[b]
the firstborn of Death consumes their limbs.
14 They are torn from the tent in which they trusted,
and are brought to the king of terrors.
15 In their tents nothing remains;
sulfur is scattered upon their habitations.
16 Their roots dry up beneath,
and their branches wither above.
17 Their memory perishes from the earth,
and they have no name in the street.
18 They are thrust from light into darkness,
and driven out of the world.
19 They have no offspring or descendant among their people,
and no survivor where they used to live.
20 They of the west are appalled at their fate,
and horror seizes those of the east.
21 Surely such are the dwellings of the ungodly,
such is the place of those who do not know God.”

18 Mas assim respondeu Bildade, da região de Suá:
2 “Até quando vai continuar falando dessa maneira?
Pense primeiro e depois poderemos falar.
3 Por que nos considera como animais?
Julga que não temos juízo?
4 A sua ira só faz mal a você mesmo.
Por sua causa, deve a terra ser abandonada?
Devem as rochas mudar de lugar?
5 “A realidade é esta: a luz dos maus se apagará,
a sua chama deixará de brilhar.
6 A luz da tenda onde ele habita escurecerá
e a lâmpada da sua vida se apagará.
7 Os seus passos deixarão de ser fortes e rápidos,
ele é derrubado pelos seus próprios planos.
8 Porque os seus pés ficarão presos numa armadilha,
cairá nela e ficará preso.
9 A armadilha prenderá o pé dele,
e o manterá preso.
10 A armadilha que o prende está escondida no chão,
esperando por ele no caminho.
11 Terrores de todos os lados o deixam com medo,
espreitam-no a cada passo.
12 Ele passará fome
e a desgraça está pronta para fazê-lo tropeçar.
13 Doenças comerão a pele dele,
e o primeiro filho da morte[a] devorará os seus membros.
14 Ele será arrancado da segurança da tenda onde vive
e levado à força ao rei dos terrores[b].
15 Viverá na sua tenda como um estranho,
enxofre ardente será espalhado sobre a sua habitação.
16 As suas raízes secarão,
e morrerão os seus galhos.
17 Ninguém se lembrará dele na terra,
ninguém falará dele nas ruas onde viveu.
18 Ele será lançado da luz para a escuridão,
e expulso para fora deste mundo.
19 Não deixará filho nem descendente entre o seu povo,
não haverá nenhum sobrevivente dele no lugar onde viveu.
20 As pessoas do oeste terão medo ao ver o que aconteceu com ele,
e as pessoas do leste terão pavor.
