27 不要為明日自誇，因為一日要生何事，你尚且不能知道。 2 要別人誇獎你，不可用口自誇；等外人稱讚你，不可用嘴自稱。 3 石頭重，沙土沉，愚妄人的惱怒比這兩樣更重。 4 憤怒為殘忍，怒氣為狂瀾，唯有嫉妒，誰能敵得住呢？ 5 當面的責備，強如背地的愛情。 6 朋友加的傷痕出於忠誠，仇敵連連親嘴卻是多餘。 7 人吃飽了，厭惡蜂房的蜜；人飢餓了，一切苦物都覺甘甜。 8 人離本處漂流，好像雀鳥離窩遊飛。 9 膏油與香料使人心喜悅，朋友誠實的勸教也是如此甘美。 10 你的朋友和父親的朋友，你都不可離棄。你遭難的日子，不要上弟兄的家去，相近的鄰舍強如遠方的弟兄。 11 我兒，你要做智慧人，好叫我的心歡喜，使我可以回答那譏誚我的人。 12 通達人見禍藏躲，愚蒙人前往受害。 13 誰為生人作保，就拿誰的衣服；誰為外女作保，誰就承當。 14 清晨起來大聲給朋友祝福的，就算是咒詛他。 15 大雨之日連連滴漏和爭吵的婦人一樣， 16 想攔阻她的便是攔阻風，也是右手抓油。 17 鐵磨鐵，磨出刃來，朋友相感[a]也是如此。 18 看守無花果樹的必吃樹上的果子，敬奉主人的必得尊榮。 19 水中照臉，彼此相符；人與人，心也相對。 20 陰間和滅亡永不滿足，人的眼目也是如此。 21 鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金，人的稱讚也試煉人。 22 你雖用杵將愚妄人與打碎的麥子一同搗在臼中，他的愚妄還是離不了他。
23 你要詳細知道你羊群的景況，留心料理你的牛群。 24 因為資財不能永有，冠冕豈能存到萬代。 25 乾草割去，嫩草發現，山上的菜蔬也被收斂。 26 羊羔之毛是為你做衣服，山羊是為做田地的價值， 27 並有母山羊奶夠你吃，也夠你的家眷吃，且夠養你的婢女。

27 不要为明天夸口，
因为你不知明天会怎样。
2 让别人夸奖你，不要开口自夸；
让外人称赞你，不要自吹自擂。
3 石头沉，沙土重，
不如愚人惹的麻烦重。
4 暴怒固然残酷，
愤恨好比狂澜，
然而嫉妒更是无人能敌。
5 开诚布公的责备胜过隐藏的爱。
6 朋友加的创伤出自真诚，
仇敌连连亲吻却是多余。
7 饱足的人连蜂蜜也嫌弃，
饥饿的人吃苦食也甘甜。
8 离乡背井的人就像离巢的飞鸟。
9 膏油和香料使人畅快，
朋友的劝诫更加甘甜。
10 不可抛弃你的朋友和父亲的至交。
患难时别投靠兄弟，
近邻胜过远亲。
11 孩子啊，你要做智者，
使我的心喜乐，
我好回答讥笑我的人。
12 明哲人遇祸躲避，
愚昧人前去受害。

20 阴间和死亡填不满，
人的眼目永不满足。
21 鼎炼银，炉炼金，
赞美也考验人。
22 就算把愚人放在臼里与麦子一起捣碎，

27 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
26 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
27 And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
