13 智慧子听父亲的教训,亵慢人不听责备。 人因口所结的果子必享美福,奸诈人必遭强暴。 谨守口的得保生命,大张嘴的必致败亡。 懒惰人羡慕却无所得,殷勤人必得丰裕。 义人恨恶谎言,恶人有臭名,且致惭愧。 行为正直的有公义保守,犯罪的被邪恶倾覆。 假作富足的,却一无所有;装作穷乏的,却广有财物。 人的资财是他生命的赎价,穷乏人却听不见威吓的话。 义人的光明亮[a],恶人的灯要熄灭。 10 骄傲只启争竞,听劝言的却有智慧。 11 不劳而得之财必然消耗,勤劳积蓄的必见加增。 12 所盼望的迟延未得,令人心忧;所愿意的临到,却是生命树。 13 藐视训言的自取灭亡,敬畏诫命的必得善报。 14 智慧人的法则[b]是生命的泉源,可以使人离开死亡的网罗。 15 美好的聪明使人蒙恩,奸诈人的道路崎岖难行。 16 凡通达人都凭知识行事,愚昧人张扬自己的愚昧。 17 奸恶的使者必陷在祸患里,忠信的使臣乃医人的良药。 18 弃绝管教的必致贫受辱,领受责备的必得尊荣。 19 所欲的成就,心觉甘甜;远离恶事,为愚昧人所憎恶。 20 与智慧人同行的必得智慧,和愚昧人做伴的必受亏损。 21 祸患追赶罪人,义人必得善报。 22 善人给子孙遗留产业,罪人为义人积存资财。 23 穷人耕种多得粮食,但因不义有消灭的。 24 不忍用杖打儿子的,是恨恶他;疼爱儿子的,随时管教。 25 义人吃得饱足,恶人肚腹缺粮。

14 智慧妇人建立家室,愚妄妇人亲手拆毁。 行动正直的敬畏耶和华,行事乖僻的却藐视他。 愚妄人口中骄傲,如杖责打己身,智慧人的嘴必保守自己。 家里无牛,槽头干净;土产加多,乃凭牛力。 诚实见证人不说谎话,假见证人吐出谎言。 亵慢人寻智慧却寻不着,聪明人易得知识。 到愚昧人面前,不见他嘴中有知识。 通达人的智慧在乎明白己道,愚昧人的愚妄乃是诡诈[c] 愚妄人犯罪以为戏耍[d],正直人互相喜悦。 10 心中的苦楚自己知道,心里的喜乐外人无干。 11 奸恶人的房屋必倾倒,正直人的帐篷必兴盛。 12 有一条路人以为正,至终成为死亡之路。 13 人在喜笑中心也忧愁,快乐至极就生愁苦。 14 心中背道的必满得自己的结果,善人必从自己的行为得以知足。 15 愚蒙人是话都信,通达人步步谨慎。 16 智慧人惧怕,就远离恶事,愚妄人却狂傲自恃。 17 轻易发怒的行事愚妄,设立诡计的被人恨恶。 18 愚蒙人得愚昧为产业,通达人得知识为冠冕。 19 坏人俯伏在善人面前,恶人俯伏在义人门口。 20 贫穷人连邻舍也恨他,富足人朋友最多。 21 藐视邻舍的,这人有罪;怜悯贫穷的,这人有福。 22 谋恶的,岂非走入迷途吗?谋善的,必得慈爱和诚实。 23 诸般勤劳都有益处,嘴上多言乃致穷乏。 24 智慧人的财为自己的冠冕,愚妄人的愚昧终是愚昧。 25 作真见证的救人性命,吐出谎言的施行诡诈。 26 敬畏耶和华的大有倚靠,他的儿女也有避难所。 27 敬畏耶和华就是生命的泉源,可以使人离开死亡的网罗。 28 帝王荣耀在乎民多,君王衰败在乎民少。 29 不轻易发怒的大有聪明,性情暴躁的大显愚妄。 30 心中安静是肉体的生命,嫉妒是骨中的朽烂。 31 欺压贫寒的是辱没造他的主,怜悯穷乏的乃是尊敬主。 32 恶人在所行的恶上必被推倒,义人临死有所投靠。 33 智慧存在聪明人心中,愚昧人心里所存的显而易见。 34 公义使邦国高举,罪恶是人民的羞辱。 35 智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠,贻羞的仆人遭其震怒。

15 回答柔和使怒消退,言语暴戾触动怒气。 智慧人的舌善发知识,愚昧人的口吐出愚昧。 耶和华的眼目无处不在,恶人善人他都鉴察。 温良的舌是生命树,乖谬的嘴使人心碎。 愚妄人藐视父亲的管教,领受责备的得着见识。 义人家中多有财宝,恶人得利反受扰害。 智慧人的嘴播扬知识,愚昧人的心并不如此。 恶人献祭为耶和华所憎恶,正直人祈祷为他所喜悦。 恶人的道路为耶和华所憎恶,追求公义的为他所喜爱。 10 舍弃正路的必受严刑,恨恶责备的必致死亡。 11 阴间和灭亡尚在耶和华眼前,何况世人的心呢? 12 亵慢人不爱受责备,他也不就近智慧人。 13 心中喜乐,面带笑容;心里忧愁,灵被损伤。 14 聪明人心求知识,愚昧人口吃愚昧。 15 困苦人的日子都是愁苦,心中欢畅的常享丰筵。 16 少有财宝敬畏耶和华,强如多有财宝烦乱不安。 17 吃素菜彼此相爱,强如吃肥牛彼此相恨。 18 暴怒的人挑起争端,忍怒的人止息纷争。 19 懒惰人的道像荆棘的篱笆,正直人的路是平坦的大道。 20 智慧子使父亲喜乐,愚昧人藐视母亲。 21 无知的人以愚妄为乐,聪明的人按正直而行。 22 不先商议,所谋无效;谋士众多,所谋乃成。 23 口善应对,自觉喜乐;话合其时,何等美好。 24 智慧人从生命的道上升,使他远离在下的阴间。 25 耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家,却要立定寡妇的地界。 26 恶谋为耶和华所憎恶,良言乃为纯净。 27 贪恋财利的扰害己家,恨恶贿赂的必得存活。 28 义人的心思量如何回答,恶人的口吐出恶言。 29 耶和华远离恶人,却听义人的祷告。 30 眼有光使心喜乐,好信息使骨滋润。 31 听从生命责备的,必常在智慧人中。 32 弃绝管教的,轻看自己的生命;听从责备的,却得智慧。 33 敬畏耶和华是智慧的训诲,尊荣以前必有谦卑。

11 不义之财必耗尽,

12 盼望无期,使人忧伤;

    敬畏诫命,必得赏赐。

22 善人为子孙留下产业,
    罪人给义人积聚财富。
23 穷人的田地出产丰富,
    因不公而被抢掠一空。
24 不用杖管教儿女是憎恶他们,

25 义人丰衣足食,
    恶人食不果腹。

14 智慧的女子建立家园,
    愚昧的女子亲手拆毁。
行为正直的人敬畏耶和华,
    行事邪僻的人轻视耶和华。
愚人的狂言招来鞭打,
    智者的唇舌保护自己。
没有耕牛槽头净,
    五谷丰登需壮牛。
忠实的证人不会撒谎,
    虚假的证人谎话连篇。
嘲讽者徒然寻智慧,
    明哲人轻易得知识。
你要远离愚昧人,
    他口中毫无知识。
明哲凭智慧辨道,
    愚人被愚昧欺骗。
愚妄人戏看罪恶,
    正直人彼此恩待。
10 心头的愁苦,唯有自己明白;
    心中的喜乐,外人无法分享。
11 恶人的房屋必遭毁灭,
    正直人的帐篷必兴盛。
12 有的路看似正确,
    最终却通向死亡。
13 欢笑难消内心的痛苦,
    欢乐过后,悲伤犹在。
14 背弃正道,自食恶果;
    善人行善,必得善报。
15 愚昧人什么都信,
    明哲人步步谨慎。
16 智者小心谨慎,远离恶事;
    愚人骄傲自负,行事鲁莽。
17 急躁易怒的人做事愚昧,
    阴险奸诈之人遭人痛恨。
18 愚昧人得愚昧作产业,
    明哲人得知识为冠冕。
19 坏人俯伏在善人面前,
    恶人俯伏在义人门口。
20 穷人遭邻舍厌,
    富人朋友众多。

22 图谋恶事的步入歧途,
    行善的受爱戴和拥护。

    没有臣民,君主必然败亡。
29 不轻易发怒者深明事理,
    鲁莽急躁的人显出愚昧。
30 心平气和,滋润生命;
    妒火中烧,啃蚀骨头。
31 欺压穷人等于侮辱造物主,
    怜悯贫弱就是尊敬造物主。
32 恶人因恶行而灭亡,
    义人到死仍有倚靠。
33 智慧存在哲士心里,
    愚人心中充满无知。
34 公义能叫邦国兴盛,
    罪恶是人民的耻辱。
35 明智的臣子蒙王喜悦,
    可耻的仆人惹王发怒。

    胜过美酒佳肴却互相憎恨。
18 脾气暴躁,惹起争端;
    忍耐克制,平息纠纷。
19 懒惰人的路布满荆棘,
    正直人的道平坦宽阔。
20 智慧之子使父亲欢喜,
    愚昧的人却藐视母亲。
21 无知者以愚昧为乐,
    明哲人遵循正道。
22 独断专行,计划失败;
    集思广益,事无不成。
23 应对得体,心中愉快;
    言语合宜,何等美好!
24 智者循生命之路上升,
    以免坠入阴间。
25 耶和华拆毁傲慢人的房屋,
    祂使寡妇的地界完整无损。
26 耶和华憎恨恶人的意念,
    喜爱纯洁的言语。
27 贪爱财富,自害己家;
    厌恶贿赂,安然存活。
28 义人三思而后答,
    恶人张口吐恶言。
29 耶和华远离恶人,
    却听义人的祷告。
30 笑颜令人心喜,
    喜讯滋润骨头。
31 倾听生命的训诫,
    使人与智者同列。
32 不受管教就是轻看自己,
    听从责备才能得到智慧。
33 敬畏耶和华使人得智慧,

A person’s riches may ransom their life,
    but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.(K)

The light of the righteous shines brightly,

    but wisdom is found in those who take advice.(M)

An honest witness does not deceive,

The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none,

Stay away from a fool,
    for you will not find knowledge on their lips.

    but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.(CK)

A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
    but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.(CL)

The house of the righteous contains great treasure,(CM)
    but the income of the wicked brings ruin.(CN)

The lips of the wise spread knowledge,(CO)
    but the hearts of fools are not upright.

The Lord detests the sacrifice(CP) of the wicked,(CQ)
    but the prayer of the upright pleases him.(CR)

The Lord detests the way of the wicked,(CS)
    but he loves those who pursue righteousness.(CT)

10 Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
    the one who hates correction will die.(CU)

    how much more do human hearts!(CW)

12 Mockers resent correction,(CX)
    so they avoid the wise.

13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful,(CY)
    but heartache crushes the spirit.(CZ)

14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge,(DA)
    but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
    but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.(DB)

16 Better a little with the fear of the Lord

17 Better a small serving of vegetables with love
    than a fattened calf with hatred.(DD)

18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict,(DE)

20 A wise son brings joy to his father,(DH)

27 The greedy bring ruin to their households,

29 The Lord is far from the wicked,
    but he hears the prayer of the righteous.(DW)

30 Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
    and good news gives health to the bones.(DX)

31 Whoever heeds life-giving correction
    will be at home among the wise.(DY)

32 Those who disregard discipline despise themselves,(DZ)
    but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.(EA)

33 Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,(EB)

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

16 Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.

17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

21 Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

14 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

15 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
