29 这是耶和华在摩押地吩咐摩西与以色列人立约的话,是在他和他们于何烈山所立的约之外。
2 摩西召了以色列众人来,对他们说:“耶和华在埃及地,在你们眼前向法老和他众臣仆,并他全地所行的一切事,你们都看见了, 3 就是你亲眼看见的大试验和神迹并那些大奇事。 4 但耶和华到今日没有使你们心能明白,眼能看见,耳能听见。 5 我领你们在旷野四十年,你们身上的衣服并没有穿破,脚上的鞋也没有穿坏。 6 你们没有吃饼,也没有喝清酒浓酒,这要使你们知道,耶和华是你们的神。 7 你们来到这地方,希实本王西宏、巴珊王噩都出来与我们交战,我们就击杀了他们, 8 取了他们的地给鲁本支派、迦得支派和玛拿西半支派为业。 9 所以你们要谨守遵行这约的话,好叫你们在一切所行的事上亨通。
11 “今日你们的首领、族长[a]、长老、官长,以色列的男丁,你们的妻子、儿女和营中寄居的,以及为你们劈柴挑水的人,都站在耶和华你们的神面前, 12 为要你顺从耶和华你神今日与你所立的约、向你所起的誓。 13 这样,他要照他向你所应许的话,又向你列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所起的誓,今日立你做他的子民,他做你的神。
14 “我不但与你们立这约,起这誓, 15 凡与我们一同站在耶和华我们神面前的,并今日不在我们这里的人,我也与他们立这约,起这誓。 16 (我们曾住过埃及地,也从列国经过,这是你们知道的。 17 你们也看见他们中间可憎之物,并他们木、石、金、银的偶像。) 18 唯恐你们中间,或男或女,或族长或支派长,今日心里偏离耶和华我们的神,去侍奉那些国的神。又怕你们中间有恶根生出苦菜和茵陈来, 19 听见这咒诅的话,心里仍是自夸说:‘我虽然行事心里顽梗,连累众人,却还是平安。’ 20 耶和华必不饶恕他,耶和华的怒气与愤恨要向他发作,如烟冒出,将这书上所写的一切咒诅都加在他身上。耶和华又要从天下涂抹他的名, 21 也必照着写在律法书上、约中的一切咒诅将他从以色列众支派中分别出来,使他受祸。
22 “你们的后代,就是以后兴起来的子孙,和远方来的外人,看见这地的灾殃并耶和华所降于这地的疾病, 23 又看见遍地有硫磺,有盐卤,有火迹,没有耕种,没有出产,连草都不生长,好像耶和华在愤怒中所倾覆的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁一样, 24 所看见的人,连万国人,都必问说:‘耶和华为何向此地这样行呢?这样大发烈怒是什么意思呢?’ 25 人必回答说:‘是因这地的人离弃了耶和华他们列祖的神领他们出埃及地的时候与他们所立的约, 26 去侍奉敬拜素不认识的别神,是耶和华所未曾给他们安排的。 27 所以耶和华的怒气向这地发作,将这书上所写的一切咒诅都降在这地上。 28 耶和华在怒气、愤怒、大恼恨中将他们从本地拔出来,扔在别的地上,像今日一样。’ 29 隐秘的事是属耶和华我们神的,唯有明显的事是永远属我们和我们子孙的,好叫我们遵行这律法上的一切话。

2 摩西召來所有以色列人,對他們說:「你們曾親眼見過耶和華在埃及怎樣對付法老及其臣僕和國民, 3 怎樣降下巨大的災難,行偉大的神蹟奇事。 4 但耶和華至今還沒有賜給你們能明白的心、能看見的眼、能聽清的耳。 5 四十年來,我領你們走過曠野,你們身上的衣服沒有穿破,腳上的鞋子沒有穿壞; 6 你們沒有吃餅,也沒有喝淡酒和烈酒。這是為了讓你們知道耶和華是你們的上帝。 7 我們來到這裡的時候,希實本王西宏和巴珊王噩都來攻擊我們,我們擊敗了他們, 8 並將佔領的土地分給呂便支派、迦得支派和瑪拿西半個支派作產業。 9 所以,你們要謹遵這約上的話,以便你們可以凡事順利。

Renewal of the Covenant
29 [a]These are the terms of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in Moab,(A) in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Horeb.(B)
2 Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them:
Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land.(C) 3 With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those signs and great wonders.(D) 4 But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.(E) 5 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led(F) you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.(G) 6 You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink.(H) I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”(I)
7 When you reached this place, Sihon(J) king of Heshbon(K) and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them.(L) 8 We took their land and gave it as an inheritance(M) to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.(N)
9 Carefully follow(O) the terms of this covenant,(P) so that you may prosper in everything you do.(Q) 10 All of you are standing today in the presence of the Lord your God—your leaders and chief men, your elders and officials, and all the other men of Israel, 11 together with your children and your wives, and the foreigners living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water.(R) 12 You are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the Lord your God, a covenant the Lord is making with you this day and sealing with an oath, 13 to confirm you this day as his people,(S) that he may be your God(T) as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 14 I am making this covenant,(U) with its oath, not only with you 15 who are standing here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God but also with those who are not here today.(V)
16 You yourselves know how we lived in Egypt and how we passed through the countries on the way here. 17 You saw among them their detestable images and idols of wood and stone, of silver and gold.(W) 18 Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns(X) away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.(Y)
19 When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing(Z) on themselves, thinking, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,”(AA) they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry. 20 The Lord will never be willing to forgive(AB) them; his wrath and zeal(AC) will burn(AD) against them. All the curses written in this book will fall on them, and the Lord will blot(AE) out their names from under heaven. 21 The Lord will single them out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster,(AF) according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.(AG)
22 Your children who follow you in later generations and foreigners who come from distant lands will see the calamities that have fallen on the land and the diseases with which the Lord has afflicted it.(AH) 23 The whole land will be a burning waste(AI) of salt(AJ) and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah,(AK) Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.(AL) 24 All the nations will ask: “Why has the Lord done this to this land?(AM) Why this fierce, burning anger?”
25 And the answer will be: “It is because this people abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the covenant he made with them when he brought them out of Egypt.(AN) 26 They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them. 27 Therefore the Lord’s anger burned against this land, so that he brought on it all the curses written in this book.(AO) 28 In furious anger and in great wrath(AP) the Lord uprooted(AQ) them from their land and thrust them into another land, as it is now.”
29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God,(AR) but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.(AS)
