²⁷『請允許我們從貴國經過，我們只走大路，不會偏離。 ²⁸我們吃的喝的，都會按價向你買，只求讓我們借道經過， ²⁹就像西珥的以東人和亞珥的摩押人那樣對待我們。我們只想過約旦河，去我們的上帝耶和華所賜之地。』

New International Version

²⁷“Let us pass through your country. We will stay on the main road; we will not turn aside to the right or to the left.^(A) ²⁸Sell us food to eat^(B) and water to drink for their price in silver. Only let us pass through on foot^(C)— ²⁹as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us—until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

²⁷^(A)‘Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the road, and I will turn neither to the right nor to the left. ²⁸You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat, and give me water for money, that I may drink; ^(B)only let me pass through on foot, ²⁹^(C)just as the descendants of Esau who dwell in Seir and the Moabites who dwell in Ar did for me, until I cross the Jordan to the land which the Lord our God is giving us.’
