3 1 The genealogy of David, and his posterity unto the sons of Josiah.
1 These also were the sons of [a]David, which were born unto him in Hebron: the eldest Amnon of Ahinoam, the Jezreelitess: the second [b]Daniel of Abigail the Carmelitess:
2 The third Absalom the son of Maacah daughter of Talmai King of Geshur: the fourth Adonijah the son of Haggith:
3 The fifth Shephatiah of Abital, the sixth Ithream by Eglah his wife.
4 These six were born unto him in Hebron: and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned three and thirty years.
5 And these four were born unto him in Jerusalem, Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon of [c]Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel:
6 Ibhar also, and [d]Elishama, and Eliphelet,
7 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
8 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine in number.
9 These are all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.
10 ¶ And Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, whose son was Abijah, and Asa his son, and Jehoshaphat his son,
11 And Joram his son, and Ahaziah his son, and Joash his son,
12 And Amaziah his son, and Azariah his son, and Jotham his son,
13 And Ahaz his son, and Hezekiah his son, and Manasseh his son,
14 And Amon his son, and Josiah his son.
15 ¶ And of the sons of Josiah, the [e]eldest was [f]Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, and the fourth Shallum.
16 And the sons of Jehoiakim were Jeconiah his son, and Zedekiah his son.
17 And the sons of Jeconiah, Assir and Shealtiel his son:
18 Malchiram also and Pedaiah, and Shenazzar, Jecamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19 And the sons of Pedaiah were [g]Zerubbabel, and Shimei: and the sons of Zerubbabel were Meshullam, and Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister,
20 And Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed, five in number.
21 And the sons of Hananiah were Pelatiah, and Jeshaiah, the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, the sons of Shechaniah.
22 And the son of Shechaniah was Shemaiah: and the sons of Shemaiah were Hattush and Igal, and Bariah, and Neariah, and Shaphat, [h]six.
23 And the sons of Neariah were Elioenai, and Hezekiah, and Azrikam, three.
24 And the sons of Elioenai were Hodaviah, and Eliashib, and Pelaiah, and Akkub, and Johanan, and Delaiah, and Anani, seven.

3 Dit waren de zonen van David die in Hebron werden geboren:
De oudste zoon was Amnon. Zijn moeder was Ahinoam uit Jizreël.
De tweede zoon was Daniël. Zijn moeder was Abigaïl uit Karmel.
2 De derde zoon was Absalom. Zijn moeder was Maächa, een dochter van koning Talmai van Gesur.
De vierde zoon was Adonia. Zijn moeder was Haggit.
3 De vijfde zoon was Sefatja. Zijn moeder was Abital.
De zesde zoon was Jitream. Zijn moeder was Egla, een andere vrouw van David.
4 David regeerde zeven jaar en zes maanden in Hebron. In die tijd kreeg hij zes zonen. Daarna regeerde hij 33 jaar in Jeruzalem. 5 In Jeruzalem kreeg hij vier zonen: Simea, Sobab, Natan en Salomo. De moeder van deze vier zonen was Batseba, de dochter van Ammiël.
6 Verder kreeg hij nog negen zonen: Jibhar, Elisama, Elifelet, 7 Noga, Nefeg, Jafia, 8 Elisama, Eljada, Elifelet. 9 In deze lijst zijn de zonen van zijn bijvrouwen[a] niet opgenoemd. Hij kreeg ook een dochter: Tamar.
10 De zoon van Salomo was Rehabeam. Zijn zoon was Abiam. Zijn zoon was Asa. Zijn zoon was Josafat. 11 Zijn zoon was Joram. Zijn zoon was Ahazia. Zijn zoon was Joas. 12 Zijn zoon was Amazia. Zijn zoon was Azarja (= Uzzia). Zijn zoon was Jotam. 13 Zijn zoon was Achaz. Zijn zoon was Hizkia. Zijn zoon was Manasse. 14 Zijn zoon was Amon. Zijn zoon was Josia. 15 De zonen van Josia waren: de oudste zoon Johanan, de tweede zoon Jojakim, de derde zoon Zedekia, de vierde zoon Sallum. 16 De zonen van Jojakim waren: Jojachin (= Jechonja) en Zedekia.
17 De zoon van Jojachin was Assir. Assirs zonen waren: Sealtiël, 18 Malkiram, Pedaja, Sennazar, Jekamja, Hosama en Nedabja. 19 De zonen van Pedaja waren: Zerubbabel[b] en Simeï. De zonen van Zerubbabel waren: Mesullam en Hananja. Zijn dochter was Selomit. 20 Zerubbabel had nog vijf zonen: Hasuba, Ohel, Berechja, Hasadja, Jusab-Hesed. 21 De zonen van Hananja waren: Pelatja en Jesaja. Zijn zoon was Refaja. Zijn zoon was Arnan. Zijn zoon was Obadja. Zijn zoon was Sechanja. 22 Sechanja kreeg een zoon: Semaja. Semaja kreeg zes zonen: Hattus, Jigeal, Baria, Nearja, Safat en nog een zoon. 23 Nearja kreeg drie zonen: Eljoënai, Hizkia en Azrikam. 24 Eljoënai kreeg zeven zonen: Hodajeva, Eljasib, Pelaja, Akkub, Johanan, Delaja en Anani.
