4 你们做主人的，要公正、公平地对待奴仆，因为你们知道，你们也有一位主人在天上。
信末的教导
2 你们要恒切祷告，祷告中要保持警醒，怀着感谢的心。 3 同时也要为我们祷告：愿神给我们开福音[a]的门，使我们能传讲基督的奥秘——我也是为此被捆锁的， 4 愿我能照着所当说的，把这奥秘显明出来。 5 你们要把握机会[b]，对外面的人靠智慧行事。 6 你们的话语总要带着恩惠，像用盐调和过的，好使你们知道该怎样回答每一个人。
最后的问安
7 有关我的一切事，特其库斯会让你们明白。他是蒙爱的弟兄、忠心的仆人[c]，是在主里同做奴仆[d]的。 8 我正是为此派他到你们那里去，好让你们知道有关我们的事[e]，并且让他安慰你们的心。 9 与他一起去的奥尼斯莫，是一位忠心、蒙爱的弟兄，是你们那里的人。他们会把这里的一切情况都让你们明白。

2 Devote yourselves to prayer,(B) being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door(C) for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery(D) of Christ, for which I am in chains.(E) 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise(F) in the way you act toward outsiders;(G) make the most of every opportunity.(H) 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace,(I) seasoned with salt,(J) so that you may know how to answer everyone.(K)
Final Greetings
7 Tychicus(L) will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant[a](M) in the Lord. 8 I am sending him to you for the express purpose that you may know about our[b] circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts.(N) 9 He is coming with Onesimus,(O) our faithful and dear brother, who is one of you.(P) They will tell you everything that is happening here.
10 My fellow prisoner Aristarchus(Q) sends you his greetings, as does Mark,(R) the cousin of Barnabas.(S) (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him.) 11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews[c] among my co-workers(T) for the kingdom of God, and they have proved a comfort to me. 12 Epaphras,(U) who is one of you(V) and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you,(W) that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature(X) and fully assured. 13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea(Y) and Hierapolis. 14 Our dear friend Luke,(Z) the doctor, and Demas(AA) send greetings. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea,(AB) and to Nympha and the church in her house.(AC)
16 After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read(AD) in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.
17 Tell Archippus:(AE) “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”(AF)
18 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.(AG) Remember(AH) my chains.(AI) Grace be with you.(AJ)

4 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
7 All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:
8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
9 With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here.
10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
11 And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.
15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

2 Verið staðfastir í bæninni. Vakið og biðjið með þakkargjörð.
3 Biðjið jafnframt fyrir oss, að Guð opni oss dyr fyrir orðið og vér getum boðað leyndardóm Krists. Hans vegna er ég nú bundinn.
4 Biðjið, að ég megi birta hann eins og mér ber að tala.
5 Umgangist viturlega þá, sem fyrir utan eru, og notið hverja stundina.
6 Mál yðar sé ætíð ljúflegt, en salti kryddað, til þess að þér vitið, hvernig þér eigið að svara hverjum manni.
7 Týkíkus, minn elskaði bróðir og trúi aðstoðarmaður og samverkamaður í þjónustu Drottins, mun láta yður vita allt um mína hagi.

11 Ennfremur biður Jesús, að viðurnefni Jústus, að heilsa yður. Þeir eru nú sem stendur einu umskornu samverkamenn mínir fyrir Guðs ríki, og hafa þeir verið mér til huggunar.
12 Einnig biður Epafras að heilsa yður, sem er einn úr yðar hópi. Hann er þjónn Krists Jesú og berst jafnan fyrir yður í bænum sínum, til þess að þér megið standa stöðugir, fullkomnir og fullvissir í öllu því, sem er vilji Guðs.
13 Þann vitnisburð gef ég honum, að hann leggur mikið á sig fyrir yður og þá sem eru í Laódíkeu og í Híerapólis.
14 Þá biður hann Lúkas að heilsa yður, læknirinn elskaði, og Demas.
15 Berið kveðju bræðrunum í Laódíkeu. Einnig Nýmfu og söfnuðinum sem kemur saman í húsi hennar.
16 Og þegar búið er að lesa þetta bréf upp hjá yður, þá látið líka lesa það í söfnuði Laódíkeumanna. Lesið þér og bréfið frá Laódíkeu.
17 Segið Arkippusi: "Gættu embættisins, sem þú hefur tekið að þér í Drottni, og ræktu það vel."
