2 我愿意你们晓得，我为你们和老底嘉人，并一切没有与我亲自见面的人，是何等地尽心竭力， 2 要叫他们的心得安慰，因爱心互相联络，以致丰丰足足在悟性中有充足的信心，使他们真知神的奥秘，就是基督， 3 所积蓄的一切智慧知识都在他里面藏着。 4 我说这话，免得有人用花言巧语迷惑你们。 5 我身子虽与你们相离，心却与你们同在，见你们循规蹈矩，信基督的心也坚固，我就欢喜了。
6 你们既然接受了主基督耶稣，就当遵他而行， 7 在他里面生根建造，信心坚固，正如你们所领的教训，感谢的心也更增长了。
防避不合真理的学问
8 你们要谨慎，恐怕有人用他的理学和虚空的妄言，不照着基督，乃照人间的遗传和世上的小学，就把你们掳去。 9 因为神本性一切的丰盛，都有形有体地居住在基督里面； 10 你们在他里面也得了丰盛。他是各样执政掌权者的元首。 11 你们在他里面也受了不是人手所行的割礼，乃是基督使你们脱去肉体情欲的割礼。 12 你们既受洗与他一同埋葬，也就在此与他一同复活，都因信那叫他从死里复活神的功用。
在罪中死蒙恩得活
13 你们从前在过犯和未受割礼的肉体中死了，神赦免了你们[a]一切过犯，便叫你们与基督一同活过来， 14 又涂抹了在律例上所写攻击我们、有碍于我们的字据，把它撤去，钉在十字架上。 15 既将一切执政的、掌权的掳来，明显给众人看，就仗着十字架夸胜。
16 所以，不拘在饮食上或节期、月朔、安息日，都不可让人论断你们。 17 这些原是后事的影儿，那形体却是基督。 18 不可让人因着故意谦虚和敬拜天使，就夺去你们的奖赏。这等人拘泥在所见过的[b]，随着自己的欲心，无故地自高自大， 19 不持定元首。全身既然靠着他，筋节得以相助联络，就因神大得长进。
不要在世俗中活着
20 你们若是与基督同死，脱离了世上的小学，为什么仍像在世俗中活着，服从那“不可拿、不可尝、不可摸”等类的规条呢？ 22 这都是照人所吩咐所教导的。说到这一切，正用的时候就都败坏了。 23 这些规条使人徒有智慧之名，用私意崇拜，自表谦卑，苦待己身，其实在克制肉体的情欲上是毫无功效。

在基督里得丰盛
6 你们怎样接受了基督耶稣为主，就当照样在他里面行事为人， 7 按着你们所领受的教导，在他里面扎根、建造，信心坚定，满有感谢的心。 8 你们要谨慎，免得有人不照着基督，而照着人的传统，和世俗的言论，借着哲学和骗人的空谈，把你们掳去。 9 因为 神本性的一切丰盛，都有形有体地住在基督里面， 10 你们也是在他里面得了丰盛。他是一切执政掌权者的元首。 11 你们也在他里面受了不是由人手所行的割礼，而是受了基督的割礼，就是除掉你们的罪身。 12 你们在洗礼中已经与他一同埋葬，也在洗礼中，因信那使基督从死人中复活的 神所运行的动力，与他一同复活了。 13 你们因着过犯和肉体未受割礼，原是死的，然而 神赦免了我们的一切过犯，使你们与基督一同活过来， 14 涂抹了那写在规条上反对我们、与我们为敌的字句，并且把这字句从我们中间拿去，钉在十字架上。 15 他既然靠着十字架胜过了一切执政掌权的，废除了他们的权势，就在凯旋的行列中，把他们公开示众。
16 所以不要让人因着饮食、节期、月朔、安息日批评你们， 17 这些不过是将来的事的影子，那真体却是属于基督的。 18 不要让人夺去你们的奖赏，他们以故意谦卑，敬拜天使为乐；迷于自己所见过的；凭着肉体的意念，无故地自高自大； 19 不与头紧密相连。其实全身都是借着关节和筋络从头得着供应和联系，就照着 神所要求的，生长起来。
在基督里作新人
20-21 你们若与基督一同死了，脱离了世俗的言论，为甚么仍然好象活在世俗中一样，拘守那“不可摸、不可尝、不可触”的规条呢？ 22 （这一切东西，一经使用，就都朽坏了。）这些规条是照着人的命令和教训而定的， 23 在随着己意敬拜，故作谦卑，和苦待己身等事上，似乎是智慧之言，其实只能叫人放纵肉体，再没有任何价值。

2 我希望你们知道，为了你们和老底嘉人，以及许多从未和我见过面的人，我是怎样努力奋斗的， 2 为要使你们众人心受鼓励，联结在爱里，有丰富笃定的真知灼见，可以认识上帝的奥秘。这奥秘就是基督， 3 一切智慧和知识都蕴藏在祂里面。 4 我讲这番话是为了防止有人用花言巧语迷惑你们。 5 现在，我人虽不在你们那里，心却和你们在一起，看到你们生活井然有序，对基督坚信不移，我很喜乐。
生活以基督为中心
6 你们既然接受了基督耶稣为主，就当继续遵从祂， 7 按照你们所受的教导在祂里面扎根成长，信心坚固，满怀感恩。
8 你们要谨慎，免得有人用空洞虚假的哲学把你们掳去。这些哲学不是出于基督，而是出于人的传统和世俗的玄学。 9 因为上帝完全的神性有形有体地蕴藏在基督里， 10 你们在基督里得到了丰盛的生命。祂是一切执政者和掌权者的元首。
11 你们也在基督里受了非人手所行的割礼，是基督为除掉你们的罪恶本性而行的割礼。 12 你们接受洗礼时已经与基督一同埋葬了，并借着相信上帝使基督从死里复活的大能，与基督一同复活了。 13 你们从前死在过犯和未被割除的罪恶本性中，但现在上帝却使你们与基督一同活了过来。上帝赦免了我们一切的过犯， 14 撤销了指控我们违背律法的罪状，将它和基督一同钉在了十字架上， 15 打败了一切在灵界执政、掌权的邪恶势力，用基督在十字架上的胜利公开羞辱它们。

2 For I would have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the [a]full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, [b]even Christ, 3 in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden. 4 This I say, that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and builded up in him, and established [c]in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding [d]in thanksgiving.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day: 17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s. 18 Let no man rob you of your prize [i]by a voluntary humility and [j]worshipping of the angels, [k]dwelling in the things which he hath [l]seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and bands, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 If ye died with Christ from the [m]rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances, 21 Handle not, nor taste, nor touch 22 (all which things are to perish with the using), after the precepts and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but are not of any [n]value against the indulgence of the flesh.
