20 在 那 裡 恰 巧 有 一 個 匪 徒 ， 名 叫 示 巴 ， 是 便 雅 憫 人 比 基 利 的 兒 子 。 他 吹 角 ， 說 ： 我 們 與 大 衛 無 分 ， 與 耶 西 的 兒 子 無 涉 。 以 色 列 人 哪 ， 你 們 各 回 各 家 去 罷 ！
2 於 是 以 色 列 人 都 離 開 大 衛 ， 跟 隨 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 。 但 猶 大 人 從 約 但 河 直 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 都 緊 緊 跟 隨 他 們 的 王 。
3 大 衛 王 來 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 進 了 宮 殿 ， 就 把 從 前 留 下 看 守 宮 殿 的 十 個 妃 嬪 禁 閉 在 冷 宮 ， 養 活 他 們 ， 不 與 他 們 親 近 。 他 們 如 同 寡 婦 被 禁 ， 直 到 死 的 日 子 。
4 王 對 亞 瑪 撒 說 ： 你 要 在 三 日 之 內 將 猶 大 人 招 聚 了 來 ， 你 也 回 到 這 裡 來 。
5 亞 瑪 撒 就 去 招 聚 猶 大 人 ， 卻 耽 延 過 了 王 所 限 的 日 期 。

7 約 押 的 人 和 基 利 提 人 、 比 利 提 人 ， 並 所 有 的 勇 士 ， 都 跟 著 亞 比 篩 ， 從 耶 路 撒 冷 出 去 追 趕 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 。

9 約 押 左 手 拾 起 刀 來 ， 對 亞 瑪 撒 說 ： 我 兄 弟 ， 你 好 啊 ！ 就 用 右 手 抓 住 亞 瑪 撒 的 鬍 子 ， 要 與 他 親 嘴 。
10 亞 瑪 撒 沒 有 防 備 約 押 手 裡 所 拿 的 刀 ； 約 押 用 刀 刺 入 他 的 肚 腹 ， 他 的 腸 子 流 在 地 上 ， 沒 有 再 刺 他 ， 就 死 了 。 約 押 和 他 兄 弟 亞 比 篩 往 前 追 趕 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 。
11 有 約 押 的 一 個 少 年 人 站 在 亞 瑪 撒 屍 身 旁 邊 ， 對 眾 人 說 ： 誰 喜 悅 約 押 ， 誰 歸 順 大 衛 ， 就 當 跟 隨 約 押 去 。
12 亞 瑪 撒 在 道 路 上 滾 在 自 己 的 血 裡 。 那 人 見 眾 民 經 過 都 站 住 ， 就 把 亞 瑪 撒 的 屍 身 從 路 上 挪 到 田 間 ， 用 衣 服 遮 蓋 。
13 屍 身 從 路 上 挪 移 之 後 ， 眾 民 就 都 跟 隨 約 押 去 追 趕 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 。
14 他 走 遍 以 色 列 各 支 派 ， 直 到 伯 瑪 迦 的 亞 比 拉 ， 並 比 利 人 的 全 地 ； 那 些 地 方 的 人 也 都 聚 集 跟 隨 他 。
15 約 押 和 跟 隨 的 人 到 了 伯 瑪 迦 的 亞 比 拉 ， 圍 困 示 巴 ， 就 對 著 城 築 壘 ； 跟 隨 約 押 的 眾 民 用 錘 撞 城 ， 要 使 城 塌 陷 。
16 有 一 個 聰 明 婦 人 從 城 上 呼 叫 說 ： 聽 啊 ， 聽 啊 ， 請 約 押 近 前 來 ， 我 好 與 他 說 話 。
17 約 押 就 近 前 來 ， 婦 人 問 他 說 ： 你 是 約 押 不 是 ？ 他 說 ： 我 是 。 婦 人 說 ： 求 你 聽 婢 女 的 話 。 約 押 說 ： 我 聽 。
18 婦 人 說 ： 古 時 有 話 說 ， 當 先 在 亞 比 拉 求 問 ， 然 後 事 就 定 妥 。
19 我 們 這 城 的 人 在 以 色 列 人 中 是 和 平 、 忠 厚 的 。 你 為 何 要 毀 壞 以 色 列 中 的 大 城 ， 吞 滅 耶 和 華 的 產 業 呢 ？
20 約 押 回 答 說 ： 我 決 不 吞 滅 毀 壞 ，
21 乃 因 以 法 蓮 山 地 的 一 個 人 ─ 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 ─ 舉 手 攻 擊 大 衛 王 ， 你 們 若 將 他 一 人 交 出 來 ， 我 便 離 城 而 去 。 婦 人 對 約 押 說 ： 那 人 的 首 級 必 從 城 牆 上 丟 給 你 。
22 婦 人 就 憑 他 的 智 慧 去 勸 眾 人 。 他 們 便 割 下 比 基 利 的 兒 子 示 巴 的 首 級 ， 丟 給 約 押 。 約 押 吹 角 ， 眾 人 就 離 城 而 散 ， 各 歸 各 家 去 了 。 約 押 回 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 到 王 那 裡 。

20 有一个无赖名叫示巴，是便雅悯人比基利的儿子，当时刚好在吉甲。他吹响号角，大喊：“我们与大卫毫无关系，耶西儿子的产业没有我们的份。以色列人啊，各自回家去吧！” 2 于是，以色列人都离开了大卫，跟随了比基利的儿子示巴。但犹大人仍然紧紧跟随他们的王，从约旦河一直来到耶路撒冷。 3 大卫回到耶路撒冷的宫里，把从前留下来看守王宫的十个妃嫔关进冷宫，供养她们，却不再和她们同房。她们像寡妇一样在软禁中度过余生。
4 王对亚玛撒说：“你要在三天内招聚犹大人，跟他们一起来见我。” 5 亚玛撒就去招聚犹大人，但他超过了王所定的期限。 6 大卫对亚比筛说：“现在比基利的儿子示巴对我们带来的危害恐怕比押沙龙还要大。你带领我的部下去捉拿他，免得他占据了坚固的城池，得以逃脱。”
7 于是，约押的部下和基利提人、比利提人以及所有的勇士都跟随亚比筛离开耶路撒冷，去追赶比基利的儿子示巴。 8 他们来到基遍的巨石旁，见亚玛撒迎面而来。约押当时身穿战袍，腰间佩刀，他迎上去的时候，刀从鞘中滑落出来。 9 约押对亚玛撒说：“兄弟，你好吗？”他用右手抓住亚玛撒的胡子，亲吻他。 10 亚玛撒毫无防备，被约押一刀刺入肚子，肚破肠流而死。然后，约押和他兄弟亚比筛继续追赶比基利的儿子示巴。
11 约押的一个部下站在亚玛撒的尸体旁边说：“拥护约押和大卫的人来跟随约押吧！” 12 亚玛撒的尸体倒在路中间的血泊中。那人见众人驻足围观，便把尸体从路上拖到田里，扔了一件衣服盖上。 13 尸体搬走以后，大家都跟随约押去追比基利的儿子示巴。
14 示巴走遍以色列各支派，一直到伯·玛迦的亚比拉城。他的本族比利人都聚集起来跟随他。 15 约押率大军来到伯·玛迦，把示巴围困在亚比拉城内，他们修筑攻城的高台，撞击城墙。 16 有一个聪明的妇人从城上喊：“请听我说！请听我说！请约押到这边来，我有话要对他说。” 17 约押就走上前去，那妇人问道：“你是约押吗？”约押答道：“我就是。”妇人说：“请听婢女说几句。”约押说：“你说吧！” 18 妇人说：“古时候人们常说，‘有事到亚比拉去请教，问题都会解决。’ 19 我们这座城的人在以色列素来热爱和平、忠心耿耿，你却要毁灭这座大城。你为什么要吞掉耶和华的产业？” 20 约押答道：“我根本不想吞掉或毁灭这城。 21 以法莲山区比基利的儿子示巴背叛大卫王，你们只要把他交出来，我就撤退。”那妇人说：“我们一定把他的首级从城上抛下来给你。” 22 妇人把自己的良策告诉众人，他们便把比基利的儿子示巴的头割下来，抛给约押。约押就吹响号角令军队各自回家，自己回耶路撒冷见王。

Sheba Rebels Against David
20 Now a troublemaker named Sheba son of Bikri, a Benjamite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and shouted,
2 So all the men of Israel deserted David to follow Sheba son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed by their king all the way from the Jordan to Jerusalem.
3 When David returned to his palace in Jerusalem, he took the ten concubines(D) he had left to take care of the palace and put them in a house under guard. He provided for them but had no sexual relations with them. They were kept in confinement till the day of their death, living as widows.
4 Then the king said to Amasa,(E) “Summon the men of Judah to come to me within three days, and be here yourself.” 5 But when Amasa went to summon Judah, he took longer than the time the king had set for him.
6 David said to Abishai,(F) “Now Sheba son of Bikri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your master’s men and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and escape from us.”[a] 7 So Joab’s men and the Kerethites(G) and Pelethites and all the mighty warriors went out under the command of Abishai. They marched out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba son of Bikri.
8 While they were at the great rock in Gibeon,(H) Amasa came to meet them. Joab(I) was wearing his military tunic, and strapped over it at his waist was a belt with a dagger in its sheath. As he stepped forward, it dropped out of its sheath.
9 Joab said to Amasa, “How are you, my brother?” Then Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him. 10 Amasa was not on his guard against the dagger(J) in Joab’s(K) hand, and Joab plunged it into his belly, and his intestines spilled out on the ground. Without being stabbed again, Amasa died. Then Joab and his brother Abishai pursued Sheba son of Bikri.
11 One of Joab’s men stood beside Amasa and said, “Whoever favors Joab, and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab!” 12 Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the middle of the road, and the man saw that all the troops came to a halt(L) there. When he realized that everyone who came up to Amasa stopped, he dragged him from the road into a field and threw a garment over him. 13 After Amasa had been removed from the road, everyone went on with Joab to pursue Sheba son of Bikri.
14 Sheba passed through all the tribes of Israel to Abel Beth Maakah and through the entire region of the Bikrites,[b](M) who gathered together and followed him. 15 All the troops with Joab came and besieged Sheba in Abel Beth Maakah.(N) They built a siege ramp(O) up to the city, and it stood against the outer fortifications. While they were battering the wall to bring it down, 16 a wise woman(P) called from the city, “Listen! Listen! Tell Joab to come here so I can speak to him.” 17 He went toward her, and she asked, “Are you Joab?”
“I am,” he answered.
She said, “Listen to what your servant has to say.”
“I’m listening,” he said.
18 She continued, “Long ago they used to say, ‘Get your answer at Abel,’ and that settled it. 19 We are the peaceful(Q) and faithful in Israel. You are trying to destroy a city that is a mother in Israel. Why do you want to swallow up the Lord’s inheritance?”(R)
20 “Far be it from me!” Joab replied, “Far be it from me to swallow up or destroy! 21 That is not the case. A man named Sheba son of Bikri, from the hill country of Ephraim, has lifted up his hand against the king, against David. Hand over this one man, and I’ll withdraw from the city.”
The woman said to Joab, “His head(S) will be thrown to you from the wall.”
22 Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice,(T) and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bikri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem.

23 Joab(U) was over Israel’s entire army; Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites; 24 Adoniram[c](V) was in charge of forced labor; Jehoshaphat(W) son of Ahilud was recorder; 25 Sheva was secretary; Zadok(X) and Abiathar were priests; 26 and Ira the Jairite[d] was David’s priest.

20 ¶ Y acaeció estar allí un varón de Belial que se llamaba Seba, hijo de Bicri, varón de Jemini, el cual tocó el shofar diciendo: No tenemos nosotros parte en David, ni heredad en el hijo de Jessé. Israel, ¡cada uno a sus estancias!
2 Así se fueron de en pos de David todos los varones de Israel, y seguían a Seba hijo de Bicri; mas los que eran de Judá fueron adheridos a su rey, desde el Jordán hasta Jerusalén.
3 Y luego que llegó David a su casa en Jerusalén, tomó el rey las diez mujeres concubinas que había dejado para guardar la casa, y las puso en una casa bajo guardia, y les dio de comer; pero nunca más se llegó a ellas, sino que quedaron encerradas hasta que murieron en viudez de por vida.
4 ¶ Y el rey dijo a Amasa: Júntame los varones de Judá para el tercer día, y hállate tú aquí presente.
5 Fue, pues, Amasa a juntar a Judá; pero se detuvo más del tiempo que le había sido señalado.
6 Y dijo David a Abisai: Seba hijo de Bicri nos hará ahora más mal que Absalón; toma pues tú los esclavos de tu señor, y ve tras él, no sea que halle las ciudades fortificadas, y se nos vaya de delante.
7 Entonces salieron en pos de él los hombres de Joab, y los cereteos y peleteos, y todos los hombres valientes salieron de Jerusalén para ir tras Seba hijo de Bicri.
8 Y estando ellos junto a la grande peña que está en Gabaón, les salió Amasa al encuentro. Y Joab estaba ceñido sobre su ropa que tenía puesto, sobre la cual tenía ceñido una espada pegado a sus lomos en su vaina, el cual salió y se le cayó.
9 Y Joab dijo a Amasa: ¿Tienes paz, hermano mío? Y tomó Joab con la diestra la barba de Amasa, para besarlo.
10 Y Amasa no se cuidó de la espada que Joab tenía en la mano; y él le hirió con la espada en la quinta costilla, y derramó sus entrañas por tierra, y cayó muerto sin darle segundo golpe. Después Joab y su hermano Abisai persiguieron a Seba hijo de Bicri.
11 Y uno de los criados de Joab se paró junto a él, diciendo: Cualquiera que amare a Joab y a David vaya en pos de Joab.
12 Y Amasa se había revolcado en su sangre en medio del camino; y viendo aquel hombre que todo el pueblo se detenía, apartó a Amasa del camino al campo, y echó sobre él una vestidura, porque veía que todos los que venían se paraban junto a él.

16 Entonces una mujer sabia dio voces en la ciudad, diciendo: Oíd, oíd; os ruego que digáis a Joab se acerque hasta acá, para que yo hable con él.
17 Y cuando él se acercó a ella, dijo la mujer: ¿Eres tú Joab? Y él respondió: Yo soy. Y ella le dijo: Oye las palabras de tu esclava. Y él respondió: Oigo.
18 Entonces volvió ella a hablar, diciendo: Antiguamente solían hablar, diciendo: Quien preguntare, pregunte en Abel; y así concluían.
19 Yo soy de las pacíficas y fieles de Israel; y tú procuras destruir una ciudad que es madre de Israel; ¿por qué destruyes la heredad del SEÑOR?
20 Y Joab respondió, diciendo: Nunca tal, nunca tal me acontezca, que yo destruya ni deshaga.
21 La cosa no es así; mas un hombre del monte de Efraín, que se llama Seba hijo de Bicri, ha levantado su mano contra el rey David; entregad a ese solamente, y me iré de la ciudad. Y la mujer dijo a Joab: He aquí su cabeza te será echada desde el muro.
22 La mujer fue luego a todo el pueblo con su sabiduría; y ellos cortaron la cabeza a Seba hijo de Bicri, y la echaron a Joab. Y él tocó el shofar, y se esparcieron todos de la ciudad, cada uno a su estancia. Y Joab volvió al rey a Jerusalén.
23 ¶ Así quedó Joab sobre todo el ejército de Israel; y Benaía hijo de Joiada sobre los cereteos y peleteos;
24 y Adoram sobre los tributos; y Josafat hijo de Ahilud, el escritor de las crónicas;
25 y Seba, el escriba; y Sadoc y Abiatar, los sacerdotes;
26 e Ira, el jaireo, fue sacerdote de David.
