9 大卫说：“扫罗家还有剩下的人没有？我要因约拿单的缘故向他施恩。” 2 扫罗家有一个仆人名叫洗巴，有人叫他来到大卫那里。王对他说：“你是洗巴吗？”他说：“仆人是。” 3 王说：“扫罗家还有没有剩下的人？我要照 神的慈爱恩待他。”洗巴对王说：“还有约拿单的一个儿子，双腿是瘸的。” 4 王对他说：“他在哪里？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他在罗‧底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里。” 5 于是大卫王派人去，从罗‧底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里召了他来。 6 扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设来到大卫那里，脸伏于地叩拜。大卫说：“米非波设！”米非波设说：“看哪，仆人在此。” 7 大卫对他说：“你不要惧怕，我必因你父亲约拿单的缘故向你施恩，把你祖父扫罗的一切田地都归还你，你也可以常与我同席吃饭。” 8 米非波设叩拜，说：“你的仆人算什么，不过如死狗一般，竟蒙你这样眷顾！”
9 王召了扫罗的仆人洗巴来，对他说：“我已把属扫罗和他的一切家产都赐给你主人的儿子了。 10 你、你的众子和仆人要为你主人的儿子耕种田地，把所收获的拿来供他食用；你主人的儿子米非波设却要常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子和二十个仆人。 11 洗巴对王说：“凡我主我王吩咐仆人的，仆人都必遵行。”于是米非波设与王[a]同席吃饭，如王的儿子一样。 12 米非波设有一个小儿子，名叫米迦。凡住在洗巴家里的人都作了米非波设的仆人。 13 米非波设住在耶路撒冷，常与王同席吃饭。他两腿都是瘸的。

9 大卫问：“扫罗一家还有什么人吗？我要因为和约拿单的情义而恩待他。” 2 有人就去叫扫罗家一个名叫洗巴的仆人来见大卫，王问他：“你就是洗巴吗？”他说：“仆人正是洗巴。” 3 王说：“扫罗家中还有什么人？我要以上帝的慈爱来待他。”洗巴答道：“约拿单还有一个儿子，是双脚残废的。” 4 王说：“他在哪里？”洗巴答道：“他住在罗·底巴，在亚米利的儿子玛吉家里。” 5 于是，大卫王派人去罗·底巴把他从亚米利的儿子玛吉家里接来。 6 扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设来到大卫面前，向他俯伏叩拜。大卫说：“米非波设！”米非波设答道：“仆人在这里。” 7 大卫说：“你不用害怕，我要因为和你父亲约拿单的情义而恩待你。我要把你祖父扫罗所有的田地归还给你，你要常与我同席吃饭。” 8 米非波设再次叩拜，说：“仆人算什么？不过像一条死狗罢了，你竟这样眷顾我！”
9 王又把扫罗的仆人洗巴召来，对他说：“我已把扫罗全家的产业都赐给了你主人的孙子米非波设。 10 你和你的儿子及仆人要为米非波设种田，把出产拿来供养他。他还要常常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子，二十个仆人。 11 洗巴对王说：“仆人必遵行我主我王的一切吩咐。”于是，米非波设像王子一样常与大卫同席吃饭。 12 米非波设有一个小儿子名叫米迦。洗巴家中的人都做了米非波设的仆人。 13 从此，双脚残废的米非波设就住在耶路撒冷，常常与王同席吃饭。

David and Mephibosheth
9 David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”(A)
2 Now there was a servant of Saul’s household named Ziba.(B) They summoned him to appear before David, and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?”
“At your service,” he replied.
3 The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?”
Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan;(C) he is lame(D) in both feet.”
4 “Where is he?” the king asked.
Ziba answered, “He is at the house of Makir(E) son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.”
5 So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.
6 When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor.(F)
David said, “Mephibosheth!”
“At your service,” he replied.
7 “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan.(G) I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.(H)”
8 Mephibosheth(I) bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog(J) like me?”
9 Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. 10 You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson(K) may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.” (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)
11 Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s[a] table like one of the king’s sons.(L)
12 Mephibosheth had a young son named Mika, and all the members of Ziba’s household were servants of Mephibosheth.(M) 13 And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.

3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7 And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
10 Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
