¹³ And David became famous^(F) after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites^[b] in the Valley of Salt.^(G)

¹⁴ He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites^(H) became subject to David.^(I) The Lord gave David victory^(J) wherever he went.^(K)
