22 (A)David habló las palabras de este cántico(B) al Señor el día que el Señor lo libró de la mano[a] de todos sus enemigos y de la mano[b] de Saúl. 2 Y dijo:
«El Señor es mi roca[c], mi baluarte y mi libertador(C);
3 Mi Dios, mi roca en quien me refugio(D);
Mi escudo(E) y el poder de mi salvación(F), mi altura inexpugnable y mi refugio(G);
Salvador mío, Tú me salvas de la violencia.
4 -»Invoco al Señor, que es digno de ser alabado(H),
Y soy salvo de mis enemigos.
5 -»Las ondas de la muerte me cercaron(I),
Los torrentes de iniquidad[d] me atemorizaron(J),
6 Los lazos del Seol[e] me rodearon(K),
Las redes de la muerte surgieron ante mí.
7 -»En mi angustia invoqué al Señor,
Sí, clamé[f] a mi Dios;
Desde Su templo oyó mi voz(L),
Y mi clamor llegó a Sus oídos.
8 -»Entonces la tierra se estremeció y tembló,
Los cimientos de los cielos temblaron
Y fueron sacudidos(M), porque Él se indignó(N).
9 -»Humo subió de Su nariz[g],
Y el fuego de Su boca consumía(O);
Carbones fueron por él encendidos(P).
10 -»Inclinó también los cielos, y descendió
Con densas tinieblas debajo de Sus pies(Q).
11 -»Cabalgó sobre un querubín(R), y voló;
Y apareció[h] sobre las alas del viento(S).
12 -»De tinieblas hizo pabellones a Su alrededor,
Abundantes aguas, densos nubarrones(T).
13 -»Del fulgor de Su presencia
Ascuas de fuego se encendieron(U).
14 -»Tronó el Señor desde los cielos,
Y el Altísimo dio Su voz(V).
15 -»Envió flechas, y los dispersó,
Relámpagos, y los confundió(W).
16 -»Entonces los abismos[i] del mar aparecieron,
Los cimientos del mundo quedaron al descubierto,
Por la reprensión del Señor,
Por el soplo del aliento(X) de Su nariz.
17 -»Extendió la mano desde lo alto y me tomó(Y);
Me sacó de las muchas aguas(Z).
18 -»Me libró de mi poderoso enemigo,
De los que me aborrecían, pues eran más fuertes que yo.
19 -»Se enfrentaron a mí el día de mi infortunio,
Pero el Señor fue mi sostén(AA).
20 -»También me sacó a un lugar espacioso(AB);
Me rescató, porque se complació en mí(AC).
21 -»El Señor me ha premiado conforme a mi justicia;
Conforme a la pureza de mis manos(AD) me ha recompensado(AE).
22 -»Porque he guardado los caminos del Señor(AF),
Y no me he apartado impíamente de mi Dios.
23 -»Pues todas Sus ordenanzas estaban delante de mí,
Y en cuanto a Sus estatutos, no me aparté de ellos(AG).
24 -»También fui íntegro[j] para con Él(AH),
Y me guardé de mi iniquidad.
25 -»Por tanto el Señor me ha recompensado conforme a mi justicia,
Conforme a mi pureza(AI) delante de Sus ojos.
26 -»Con el benigno[k] te muestras benigno[l](AJ),
Con el hombre íntegro te muestras íntegro;
27 Con el puro eres puro(AK),
Y con el perverso eres sagaz[m](AL).
28 -»Salvas al pueblo afligido(AM),
Pero Tus ojos están sobre los altivos
A quienes Tú humillas(AN).
29 -»Porque Tú eres mi lámpara, oh Señor;
El Señor alumbra mis tinieblas(AO).
30 -»Pues contigo aplastaré ejércitos(AP),
Con mi Dios escalaré murallas.
31 -»En cuanto a Dios, Su camino es perfecto(AQ);
Acrisolada es la palabra del Señor(AR);
Él es escudo a todos los que a Él se acogen(AS).
32 -»Pues ¿quién es Dios, fuera del Señor(AT)?
¿Y quién es roca(AU), sino solo nuestro Dios?
33 -»Dios es mi fortaleza poderosa(AV),
Y el que pone[n] al íntegro[o] en Su[p] camino.
34 -ȃl hace mis[q] pies como de ciervas(AW),
Y me afirma en mis alturas(AX).
35 -ȃl adiestra mis manos para la batalla(AY),
Y mis brazos para tensar el arco de bronce(AZ).
36 -»Tú me has dado también el escudo de Tu salvación(BA),
Y Tu ayuda[r] me engrandece.
37 -»Ensanchas mis pasos debajo de mí,
Y mis pies[s] no han resbalado(BB).
38 -»Perseguí a mis enemigos y los destruí,
Y no me volví hasta acabarlos(BC).
39 -»Los he consumido y los he destrozado, y no pudieron levantarse;
Cayeron debajo de mis pies(BD).
40 -»Pues Tú me has ceñido con fuerzas para la batalla;
Has subyugado[t] debajo de mí a los que contra mí se levantaron(BE).
41 -»También has hecho que mis enemigos me vuelvan las espaldas[u](BF),
Y destruí[v] a los que me odiaban.
42 -»Clamaron[w](BG), pero no hubo quién los salvara;
Aun al Señor clamaron, mas no les respondió(BH).
43 -»Entonces los pulvericé, como polvo de la tierra(BI),
Como lodo de las calles los trituré y los pisé(BJ).
44 -»Tú me has librado también de las contiendas de mi pueblo(BK);
Me has guardado para ser[x] cabeza de naciones(BL);
Pueblo que yo no conocía me sirve(BM).
45 -»Los extranjeros me fingen obediencia[y](BN),
Al oírme, me obedecen.
46 -»Los extranjeros desfallecen,
Y salen temblando[z](BO) de sus fortalezas[aa].
47 -»El Señor vive, bendita sea mi roca,
Y ensalzado sea Dios, roca[ab] de mi salvación(BP),
48 El Dios que por mí hace venganza(BQ),
Y hace caer pueblos debajo de mí(BR);
49 El que me libra[ac] de mis enemigos.
Tú me exaltas sobre los que se levantan contra mí(BS);
Me rescatas del hombre violento(BT).
50 -»Por tanto, te daré gracias, oh Señor, entre las naciones,
Y cantaré alabanzas a Tu nombre(BU).
51 -»Él es torre de salvación[ad] a Su rey(BV),
Y muestra misericordia a Su ungido(BW),
A David y a su descendencia[ae] para siempre(BX)».

22 And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;
6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
21 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
25 Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.
30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
32 For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?
33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
34 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.
39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.
40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.
43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
47 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.
49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
