提摩太前書 4

謹防偽君子
4 聖靈明確地說，日後必有人離棄真道，去追隨那些迷惑人的邪靈和鬼魔的學說。 2 這些學說是出自假冒偽善的騙子，他們良心喪盡，麻木不仁[a]， 3 禁止人結婚和吃某些食物。其實那些食物是上帝創造的，為了讓相信並且明白真理的人存感恩的心領受。 4 上帝所造的一切都是美好的，若以感恩的心去領受，就無需任何禁忌， 5 因為上帝的道和人的禱告可以使食物聖潔。
6 你要提醒弟兄姊妹這些事，這樣你就是基督耶穌的好僕人，會不斷地從你所信的真道和所遵行的美好教導上得到造就。
做信徒的榜樣
7 但你要棄絕世俗、荒誕的傳說，要訓練自己做個敬虔的人。 8 鍛煉體魄益處還少，敬虔生活受益無窮，擁有今生和永世的應許。 9 這話真實可信，值得完全接受。 10 我們努力奮鬥正是為了這個目的，因為我們的盼望在於永活的上帝。祂是全人類的救主，更是信徒的救主。 11 你要吩咐和教導這些事。
12 不要因為年輕而叫人小看你，總要在言語、行為、愛心、信心和純潔各方面做信徒的榜樣。 13 在我來之前，你要專心宣讀聖經，勉勵會眾，教導真理。 14 不要忽略你的恩賜，那是藉著預言在眾長老把手按在你身上時賜給你的。 15 你要全心全意地做這些事，讓大家都看到你的長進。 16 你要注意自己的言行和教導，要持之以恆。這樣，你不但能救自己，也能救那些聽你教導的人。

Abandonment of Faith
4 But (A)the Spirit explicitly says that (B)in later times some will [a]fall away from the faith, paying attention to (C)deceitful spirits and (D)teachings of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars (E)seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3 who (F)forbid marriage and advocate (G)abstaining from foods which (H)God has created to be (I)gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For (J)everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is (K)received with gratitude; 5 for it is sanctified by means of (L)the word of God and prayer.
A Good Minister’s Discipline
6 In pointing out these things to (M)the brothers and sisters, you will be a good (N)servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the (O)good doctrine which you (P)have been following. 7 But [b]stay away from (Q)worthless (R)stories that are typical of old women. Rather, [c]discipline yourself for the purpose of (S)godliness; 8 for (T)bodily training is just slightly beneficial, but (U)godliness is beneficial for all things, since it (V)holds promise for the (W)present life and also for the life to come. 9 (X)It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. 10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set (Y)our hope on (Z)the living God, who is (AA)the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers.
11 [d](AB)Prescribe and teach these things. 12 (AC)Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, (AD)love, faith, and purity, show yourself (AE)an example [e]of those who believe. 13 (AF)Until I come, give your attention to the public [f](AG)reading, to exhortation, and teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through words of (AH)prophecy with (AI)the laying on of hands by the [g](AJ)council of elders. 15 Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all. 16 (AK)Pay close attention to yourself and to the teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will (AL)save both yourself and those who hear you.
