劝门徒远避淫行
4 弟兄们，我还有话说，我们靠着主耶稣求你们劝你们：你们既然受了我们的教训，知道该怎样行可以讨神的喜悦，就要照你们现在所行的更加勉励。 2 你们原晓得我们凭主耶稣传给你们什么命令。 3 神的旨意就是要你们成为圣洁，远避淫行， 4 要你们各人晓得怎样用圣洁、尊贵守着自己的身体， 5 不放纵私欲的邪情，像那不认识神的外邦人。 6 不要一个人在这事上越分，欺负他的弟兄，因为这一类的事主必报应，正如我预先对你们说过，又切切嘱咐你们的。 7 神召我们本不是要我们沾染污秽，乃是要我们成为圣洁。 8 所以，那弃绝的不是弃绝人，乃是弃绝那赐圣灵给你们的神。
蒙神教训彼此相爱
9 论到弟兄们相爱，不用人写信给你们，因为你们自己蒙了神的教训，叫你们彼此相爱。 10 你们向马其顿全地的众弟兄固然是这样行，但我劝弟兄们要更加勉励。 11 又要立志做安静人，办自己的事，亲手做工，正如我们从前所吩咐你们的， 12 叫你们可以向外人行事端正，自己也就没有什么缺乏了。
为信徒死了的安慰话
13 论到睡了的人，我们不愿意弟兄们不知道，恐怕你们忧伤，像那些没有指望的人一样。 14 我们若信耶稣死而复活了，那已经在耶稣里睡了的人，神也必将他们与耶稣一同带来。 15 我们现在照主的话告诉你们一件事：我们这活着还存留到主降临的人，断不能在那已经睡了的人之先。 16 因为主必亲自从天降临，有呼叫的声音和天使长的声音，又有神的号吹响，那在基督里死了的人必先复活， 17 以后我们这活着还存留的人必和他们一同被提到云里，在空中与主相遇；这样，我们就要和主永远同在。 18 所以，你们当用这些话彼此劝慰。

La vida que agrada a Dios
4 Ahora, hermanos, les rogamos y encargamos esto en el nombre del Señor Jesús: que sigan ustedes progresando cada día más en la manera de comportarse que aprendieron de nosotros para agradar a Dios, como ya lo están haciendo.
2 Ustedes conocen las instrucciones que les dimos por la autoridad del Señor Jesús. 3 Lo que Dios quiere es que ustedes lleven una vida santa, que nadie cometa inmoralidades sexuales 4 y que cada uno sepa dominar su propio cuerpo en forma santa y respetuosa, 5 no con pasión y malos deseos como las gentes que no conocen a Dios. 6 Que nadie abuse ni engañe en este asunto a su prójimo, porque el Señor castiga duramente todo esto, como ya les hemos advertido. 7 Pues Dios no nos ha llamado a vivir en impureza, sino en santidad. 8 Así pues, el que desprecia estas enseñanzas no desprecia a ningún hombre, sino a Dios, que les ha dado a ustedes su Espíritu Santo.
9 En cuanto al amor entre hermanos, no tienen necesidad de que les escribamos, porque Dios mismo les ha enseñado a amarse unos a otros. 10 Pues así hacen ustedes con todos los hermanos que viven en toda Macedonia. Pero les rogamos, hermanos, que su amor aumente todavía más. 11 Procuren vivir tranquilos y ocupados en sus propios asuntos, trabajando con sus manos como les hemos encargado, 12 para que los respeten los de fuera y ustedes no tengan que depender de nadie.
El regreso del Señor
13 Hermanos, no queremos que se queden sin saber lo que pasa con los muertos, para que ustedes no se entristezcan como los otros, los que no tienen esperanza. 14 Así como creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también creemos que Dios va a resucitar con Jesús a los que murieron creyendo en él.
15 Por esto les decimos a ustedes, como enseñanza del Señor, que nosotros, los que quedemos vivos hasta la venida del Señor, no nos adelantaremos a los que murieron. 16 Porque se oirá una voz de mando, la voz de un arcángel y el sonido de la trompeta de Dios, y el Señor mismo bajará del cielo. Y los que murieron creyendo en Cristo, resucitarán primero; 17 después, los que hayamos quedado vivos seremos llevados, juntamente con ellos, en las nubes, para encontrarnos con el Señor en el aire; y así estaremos con el Señor para siempre. 18 Anímense, pues, unos a otros con estas palabras.

4 Por lo demás, hermanos, os rogamos y exhortamos en el Señor Jesús, que de la manera que aprendisteis de nosotros cómo os conviene conduciros y agradar a Dios, así abundéis más y más. 2 Porque ya sabéis qué instrucciones os dimos por el Señor Jesús; 3 pues la voluntad de Dios es vuestra santificación; que os apartéis de fornicación; 4 que cada uno de vosotros sepa tener su propia esposa en santidad y honor; 5 no en pasión de concupiscencia, como los gentiles que no conocen a Dios; 6 que ninguno agravie ni engañe en nada a su hermano; porque el Señor es vengador de todo esto, como ya os hemos dicho y testificado. 7 Pues no nos ha llamado Dios a inmundicia, sino a santificación. 8 Así que, el que desecha esto, no desecha a hombre, sino a Dios, que también nos dio su Espíritu Santo.
9 Pero acerca del amor fraternal no tenéis necesidad de que os escriba, porque vosotros mismos habéis aprendido de Dios que os améis unos a otros; 10 y también lo hacéis así con todos los hermanos que están por toda Macedonia. Pero os rogamos, hermanos, que abundéis en ello más y más; 11 y que procuréis tener tranquilidad, y ocuparos en vuestros negocios, y trabajar con vuestras manos de la manera que os hemos mandado, 12 a fin de que os conduzcáis honradamente para con los de afuera, y no tengáis necesidad de nada.
La venida del Señor
13 Tampoco queremos, hermanos, que ignoréis acerca de los que duermen, para que no os entristezcáis como los otros que no tienen esperanza. 14 Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también traerá Dios con Jesús a los que durmieron en él. 15 Por lo cual os decimos esto en palabra del Señor: que nosotros que vivimos, que habremos quedado hasta la venida del Señor, no precederemos a los que durmieron. 16 Porque el Señor mismo con voz de mando, con voz de arcángel, y con trompeta de Dios, descenderá del cielo; y los muertos en Cristo resucitarán primero. 17 Luego nosotros los que vivimos, los que hayamos quedado, seremos arrebatados juntamente con ellos en las nubes para recibir al Señor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Señor.(A) 18 Por tanto, alentaos los unos a los otros con estas palabras.

Living to Please God
4 As for other matters, brothers and sisters,(A) we instructed you how to live(B) in order to please God,(C) as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3 It is God’s will(D) that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;(E) 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body[a](F) in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust(G) like the pagans,(H) who do not know God;(I) 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.[b](J) The Lord will punish(K) all those who commit such sins,(L) as we told you and warned you before. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.(M) 8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.(N)
9 Now about your love for one another(O) we do not need to write to you,(P) for you yourselves have been taught by God(Q) to love each other.(R) 10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia.(S) Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,(T) 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands,(U) just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders(V) and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Believers Who Have Died
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed(W) about those who sleep in death,(X) so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.(Y) 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again,(Z) and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.(AA) 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord,(AB) will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.(AC) 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,(AD) with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel(AE) and with the trumpet call of God,(AF) and the dead in Christ will rise first.(AG) 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left(AH) will be caught up together with them in the clouds(AI) to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord(AJ) forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another(AK) with these words.
