尼希米的祷告
1 以下是哈迦利亚的儿子尼希米的记述。
波斯王亚达薛西二十年基斯流月[a]，我在书珊城里。 2 从犹大来了我的一个兄弟哈拿尼和一些人，我问他们有关从流亡之地归回的犹太余民和耶路撒冷的情况。 3 他们回答说：“那些从流亡之地归回犹大省的人深陷苦难，饱受凌辱。耶路撒冷的城墙已经倒塌，城门也被烧毁。”
4 我一听见这消息，就坐下痛哭，悲伤了好几天。我在天上的上帝面前禁食祷告，说：
5 “天上的上帝耶和华啊，你是伟大而可畏的上帝，你向爱你、守你诫命的人守约，施慈爱。 6 仆人在你面前昼夜为你的众仆人以色列民祈祷，求你睁眼察看，侧耳倾听。我承认以色列人向你所犯的罪，以及我和我的家族所犯的罪。 7 我们行事败坏，没有遵守你赐给你仆人摩西的诫命、律例和典章。 8 求你顾念你对你仆人摩西所说的话，‘如果你们不忠，我必把你们驱散到列邦中。 9 但如果你们转向我，谨遵我的诫命，即使你们流落天涯，我也必从那里把你们召集到我选为我名所在之地。’ 10 我们是你的仆人、你的子民，是你用大能大力救赎的。 11 主啊，求你侧耳听你仆人的祷告，垂听那些喜爱敬畏你名的众仆人的祈求，使你仆人今天亨通，在王面前蒙恩。”

1 Palabras de Nehemías hijo de Hacalías. Aconteció en el mes de Quisleu, en el año veinte, que estando yo en Susa, capital del reino, 2 vino Hanani, uno de mis hermanos, con algunos hombres de Judá. Entonces les pregunté por los judíos que habían escapado, los que se habían salvado de la cautividad, y por Jerusalén. 3 Ellos me dijeron: «El resto, los que se salvaron de la cautividad, allí en la provincia, están en una situación muy difícil y vergonzosa. El muro de Jerusalén está en ruinas y sus puertas destruidas por el fuego.»
4 Cuando oí estas palabras me senté y lloré, hice duelo por algunos días, ayuné y oré delante del Dios de los cielos. 5 Y le dije: «Te ruego, Jehová, Dios de los cielos, fuerte, grande y temible, que guardas el pacto y tienes misericordia de los que te aman y observan tus mandamientos; 6 esté ahora atento tu oído y abiertos tus ojos para oír la oración de tu siervo, que hago ahora delante de ti, día y noche, por los hijos de Israel, tus siervos. Confieso los pecados que los hijos de Israel hemos cometido contra ti; sí, yo y la casa de mi padre hemos pecado. 7 En extremo nos hemos corrompido contra ti y no hemos guardado los mandamientos, estatutos y preceptos que diste a Moisés, tu siervo. 8 Acuérdate ahora de la palabra que diste a Moisés, tu siervo, diciendo: “Si vosotros pecáis, yo os dispersaré por los pueblos; 9 pero si os volvéis a mí y guardáis mis mandamientos y los ponéis por obra, aunque vuestra dispersión sea hasta el extremo de los cielos, de allí os recogeré y os traeré al lugar que escogí para hacer habitar allí mi nombre”.
10 »Ellos, pues, son tus siervos y tu pueblo, los cuales redimiste con tu gran poder y con tu mano poderosa. 11 Te ruego, Jehová, que esté ahora atento tu oído a la oración de tu siervo, y a la oración de tus siervos, quienes desean reverenciar tu nombre; concede ahora buen éxito a tu siervo y dale gracia delante de aquel hombre.»
En aquel entonces servía yo de copero al rey.

1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
5 And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Nehemiah’s Prayer for the People
1 The words of Nehemiah son of Hacaliah.
It happened in the month of Kislev, in the twentieth year, that I myself was in the citadel in Susa, 2 and one of my brothers, Hanani, came with some men from Judah. I asked them about the Jews who had escaped the captivity and about Jerusalem. 3 They replied to me, “The survivors in the province who have survived the captivity are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned in the fire.”
4 When I heard these words, I sat and wept and mourned for days, and I was fasting and praying before the God of the heavens. 5 I said, “O Yahweh God of the heavens, the great and awesome one who keeps the covenant and loyal love for the ones who love him and for those who keep his commands. 6 Please, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer of your servant that I am praying before you by day and by night for your servants, the Israelites,[a] and confessing the sins of the Israelites[b] that we have sinned against you. I and my father’s house have sinned. 7 We have certainly offended you and have not kept the commands, regulations, and judgments that you have commanded your servant Moses. 8 Please, remember the word that you have commanded to your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you act unfaithfully I will scatter you all among the nations. 9 But if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, even though all of your outcasts are at the furthest parts of heaven, I will gather them and bring them to the place which I have chosen to make my name dwell.’ 10 They are your servants and your people whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand. 11 O Lord, please let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight to revere in your name. Please, let your servant be successful this day and give him compassion before this man.”
I was cupbearer for the king.
