9 关于捐助圣徒的事，其实我不必再写信提醒你们， 2 因我知道你们的热心。我向马其顿教会的人夸耀你们，说亚该亚人的捐款在一年前就预备好了，你们的热心激励了许多人。 3 现在我先派这几位弟兄到你们那里，以便你们把捐款预备好，正如我所说的那样，免得我们在这件事上夸耀你们的话成了虚言。 4 因为万一有马其顿的人与我同去，发现你们并没有准备好，不但我们会因如此信任你们而羞愧，你们也会无地自容。 5 因此，我认为有必要请那几位弟兄先去你们那里，将你们从前认捐的款项收集妥当，这样就表明你们的捐赠是出于甘心乐意，而不是出于勉强。
甘心乐意地捐助
6 要记住：“少种的少收，多种的多收。” 7 各人心里想捐多少就捐多少，不要勉强，不要为难。因为捐得甘心乐意的人才是上帝所喜爱的。 8 上帝能够将各样的恩典多多赐给你们，使你们在各方面常常富足有余，可以多行各样的善事。 9 正如圣经上说：
“他慷慨施舍、周济穷人，
他的仁义永远长存。”
10 赐农夫种子又赐人粮食的上帝，必加倍赐给你们种子，使你们收获更多仁义的果子， 11 叫你们事事丰裕，可以多多施舍。这样，从我们这里得到你们帮助的人便会向上帝献上感恩。 12 因为这件善事不单可以帮助经济困难的圣徒，也使许多人对上帝充满感恩。 13 通过这件善事，他们会把荣耀归给上帝，因为看见你们信服基督的福音，慷慨地帮助他们及众人。 14 他们也会因上帝赐给你们的丰盛恩典而热切地为你们祷告。 15 感谢上帝，祂的恩赐真是无以言表！

9 For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
3 Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Administering the Gift
9 Now concerning (A)the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you; 2 for I know your willingness, about which I boast of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a (B)year ago; and your zeal has stirred up the majority. 3 (C)Yet I have sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this respect, that, as I said, you may be ready; 4 lest if some Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we (not to mention you!) should be ashamed of this [a]confident boasting. 5 Therefore I thought it necessary to [b]exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a [c]grudging obligation.
The Cheerful Giver
6 (D)But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows [d]bountifully will also reap [e]bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, (E)not grudgingly or of [f]necessity; for (F)God loves a cheerful giver. 8 (G)And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:
(H)“He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now [g]may He who (I)supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, [h]supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your (J)righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, (K)which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only (L)supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they (M)glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal (N)sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding (O)grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God (P)for His indescribable gift!

9 예루살렘에 있는 성도들을 돕는 이 일에 관하여 내가 여러분에게 편지를 쓸 필요는 없습니다. 2 그들을 돕고 싶어하는 여러분의 열성을 알고 있기 때문입니다. 나는 마케도니아에 있는 형제들에게, 아가야에 있는 여러분이 지난해부터 준비를 다 해 놓았다고 자랑해 오고 있습니다. 여러분의 그러한 열성을 듣고 여기 있는 대부분의 형제들도 힘을 내고 있습니다. 3 그러나 이제 형제들을 여러분에게 보내는 것은, 여러분에 대한 우리의 자랑이 빈말이 되지 않게 하려는 것입니다. 아무쪼록 내가 자랑한 것처럼 여러분이 준비되어 있기를 바랍니다. 4 마케도니아에 있는 형제 가운데 누구라도 나와 함께 여러분을 찾아갔다가, 여러분이 준비되어 있지 않은 것을 보게 되면, 여러분은 물론이고 우리도 얼마나 부끄럽겠습니까! 우리는 여러분을 크게 믿었던 것을 부끄러워하게 될 것입니다. 5 그래서 우리보다 앞서 이 형제들을 여러분에게 보내어, 그들이 가서 여러분이 약속했던 선물을 준비해 놓게 할 필요가 있다고 생각하였습니다. 그러면 우리가 갔을 때에, 마지못해 드리는 선물이 아니라 마음에서 우러나 드린 선물이 준비되어 있을 것입니다.
6 적게 심는 사람은 적게 거두고, 많이 심는 사람은 많이 거둔다는 사실을 기억하십시오. 7 사람마다 마음에 바치기로 작정한 대로 바치십시오. 아까워하면서 바치거나 마지못해 바치는 일이 있어서는 안 됩니다. 하나님께서는 기쁜 마음으로 바치는 사람을 사랑하십니다. 8 하나님께서는 여러분에게 온갖 복을 넘치도록 주실 수 있습니다. 그러므로 여러분은 모든 일에 여러분이 쓸 것을 언제나 넉넉하게 가지게 되어, 온갖 선한 일을 다 할 수 있게 될 것입니다. 9 성경에 이렇게 쓰여 있습니다.
“그분은 가난한 이들에게 아낌없이 주시며
그분의 자비는 영원히 계속될 것이다.”(A)
10 씨를 뿌리는 농부에게 씨를 주시고, 우리 모두에게 먹을 양식을 주시는 분은 하나님이십니다. 마찬가지로 하나님께서는 여러분에게도 씨를 주시고, 그 씨를 자라게 해 주실 것입니다. 그리고 여러분이 베푼 선한 일의 열매를 풍성하게 해 주실 것입니다. 11 하나님께서는 여러분을 모든 일에 넉넉하게 하시어, 여러분이 언제나 마음껏 베풀 수 있게 해 주실 것입니다. 그리고 여러분이 베푸는 선물을 우리가 전할 때에 많은 사람이 하나님께 감사드릴 것입니다.
12 여러분이 하고 있는 이런 봉사가 믿는 형제들에게 필요한 것을 채워 줄 뿐만 아니라, 여러분의 봉사를 보고 많은 사람이 하나님께 넘치도록 감사를 드릴 것입니다. 13 여러분의 이 봉사의 결과로, 사람들이 하나님께 찬양을 돌리게 될 것입니다. 그것은, 여러분이 그리스도의 기쁜 소식을 믿고, 그 기쁜 소식에 순종하여 예루살렘에 있는 형제들과 그 밖의 모든 사람들을 아낌없이 돕는다는 것을 보여 줄 것이기 때문입니다. 14 그들은 또한 하나님께서 여러분을 통해 넘치는 복을 베푸시는 것을 보고, 여러분을 그리워하며 여러분을 위해 기도할 것입니다. 15 말로 다 설명할 수 없는 선물을 주시는 하나님께 감사드립니다.
