祭偶像的食物
8 关于献给偶像的祭物，我们知道大家都有这方面的知识，但知识会使人自高，唯有爱心才能造就人。 2 若有人自以为知道些什么，其实他需要知道的，他还不知道。 3 但如果有人爱上帝，这人是上帝所认识的。
4 论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。 5 虽然天上地上有许多被称为神的，好像有许多神、许多主， 6 但我们只有一位神，就是父上帝，祂是万物的源头，是我们的归宿。我们也只有一位主，就是耶稣基督，万物都是借着祂存在，我们也是借着祂存在。
7 不过，并不是所有的人都有这种知识。有些人因为以前拜惯了偶像，现在吃到某些食物就觉得是祭过偶像的，因而良心不安，觉得自己被玷污了。 8 其实食物并不能改变上帝对我们的看法，我们不吃也没有损失，吃了也不会更好。
9 但你们要小心，不要让你们的自由绊倒那些信心软弱的人。 10 如果有人看见你这明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的庙中吃喝，他虽然良心不安，岂不还是会放胆吃献给偶像的祭物吗？ 11 这样，你的知识反而令那软弱的人，就是基督舍命救回的弟兄沉沦。 12 你们这样得罪弟兄，伤了他脆弱的良心，就是得罪基督。 13 所以，如果我吃某些食物会令我的弟兄在信仰上跌倒，我就情愿永远不吃[a]，免得令他们跌倒。

8 现在，我要谈谈关于祭给偶像食物的问题，我们知道∶“我们都有知识。”但是，知识使人自高自大，但爱却有助人更加坚强。 2 自认为有所知的人，实际上连该知道的都不知道。 3 但是，爱上帝的人，却为上帝所知。
4 关于祭过偶像的食物，我们知道∶“偶像在世上一文不值，也知道只有一位上帝。” 5 即便在天上人间有许多所谓的“神”，（有许多“神”和“主”） 6 然而对我们来说，只有一个上帝，天父，万物自他而生，我们为他而生；只有一位主耶稣基督，万物借助他而存在，我们借他而活。
7 但不是所有的人都知道这些。有些人直到现在还习惯偶像崇拜，所以，每当吃肉时，他们认为这是祭过偶像的。因为他们的良心本来就弱，吃后更觉受到了玷污。 8 食物不能使我们更接近上帝。不吃，我们不会更坏，吃了，也不会使我们更好。
9 但是，你们要小心，不要让你们的自由使信仰弱的人犯罪。 10 你们有知识，所以在偶像的大殿里可以坦然地吃东西。但是，信仰不坚定的人看到你们在那里吃东西，岂不等于鼓励他去吃祭偶像的食物吗？但实际上他却认为这是错误的。 11 结果这个软弱的兄弟因为你的知识而被毁掉了。基督正是为了你的这个兄弟而死的。 12 你们这么做，不但是在对兄弟犯罪，伤害了他们脆弱的良心，而且也是在对基督犯罪。 13 因此，如果食物会让兄弟犯罪，我就永远不再吃肉，避免让我的兄弟犯罪。

8 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
