9 第五位天使吹號，我就看見一顆星從天上落到地上，有無底坑的鑰匙賜給它。 2 它開了無底坑，就有煙從坑裡冒出來，好像大火爐的煙，太陽和天空因這坑的煙就都變黑了。 3 有蝗蟲從煙裡出來到了地上；有能力賜給牠們，好像地上蠍子的能力一樣。 4 有話吩咐牠們，不可傷害地上的草，和所有青翠的東西，以及所有的樹木，只可傷害那些額上沒有 神印記的人。 5 蝗蟲沒有能力殺死他們，只可使他們受痛苦五個月。他們的痛苦就像人給蠍子螫了的痛苦一樣。 6 在那些日子，人要求死，卻決不得死；切願要死，死卻遠離他們。
7 蝗蟲的形象，好像是預備好了要上陣的戰馬一樣。牠們頭上戴的好像金冠冕，臉像人的面孔， 8 牠們的頭髮好像女人的頭髮，牙齒好像獅子的牙齒； 9 牠們的胸甲像鐵甲，牠們翅膀的聲音好像許多馬車奔馳上陣的聲音。 10 牠們好像蠍子一樣有尾巴和毒刺，牠們的尾巴能傷害人五個月。 11 牠們有無底坑的使者作王統治牠們。這王的名字，希伯來話叫阿巴頓，希臘話叫阿波倫。

The Fifth Trumpet
9 The fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to earth.(A) The key for the shaft to the abyss(B) was given to him. 2 He opened the shaft to the abyss, and smoke came up out of the shaft like smoke from a great[a] furnace(C) so that the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the shaft.(D) 3 Then locusts came out of the smoke on to the earth,(E) and power[b] was given to them(F) like the power that scorpions have on the earth.(G) 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree,(H) but only those people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads.(I) 5 They were not permitted to kill them but were to torment them for five months; their torment is like the torment caused by a scorpion when it stings someone. 6 In those days people will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, but death will flee from them.(J)
7 The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle.(K) Something like golden crowns was on their heads; their faces were like human faces; 8 they had hair like women’s hair; their teeth were like lions’ teeth;(L) 9 they had chests like iron breastplates; the sound of their wings was like the sound of many chariots with horses rushing into battle; 10 and they had tails with stingers like scorpions, so that with their tails they had the power to harm people for five months. 11 They had as their king[c] the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon,[d](M) and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.[e]
12 The first woe has passed. There are still two more woes to come after this.(N)
The Sixth Trumpet
13 The sixth angel blew his trumpet. From the four[f] horns of the golden altar(O) that is before God, I heard a voice 14 say to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, ‘Release the four angels(P) bound at the great river Euphrates.’(Q) 15 So the four angels who were prepared for the hour, day, month, and year(R) were released to kill a third(S) of the human race. 16 The number of mounted troops was two hundred million;[g] I heard their number. 17 This is how I saw the horses and their riders in the vision: They had breastplates that were fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulphur yellow. The heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and from their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulphur.(T) 18 A third of the human race was killed by these three plagues – by the fire, the smoke, and the sulphur that came from their mouths. 19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, because their tails, which resemble snakes, have heads that inflict injury.
20 The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands(U) to stop worshipping demons(V) and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood,(W) which cannot see, hear, or walk.(X) 21 And they did not repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.

Esa estrella recibió la llave de la entrada al abismo[a] profundo. 2 Entonces, la estrella abrió la entrada y de allí salió humo como de un gran horno; y el humo oscureció el sol y el cielo. 3 Del humo bajaron langostas a la tierra, que recibieron un poder como el de los escorpiones. 4 Se les dijo que no dañaran el pasto, ni las plantas ni los árboles, sino a la gente que no tuviera la señal de Dios en su frente. 5 Pero no podían matar a la gente, sino torturarla durante cinco meses; el dolor que causaban era como el de la picadura de un escorpión. 6 Durante esos cinco meses, la gente buscará la muerte pero no la encontrará; deseará morir, pero la muerte se alejará de ellos.
7 Las langostas parecían caballos listos para la guerra. En la cabeza tenían algo parecido a una corona de oro, y su cara era como de ser humano. 8 Su crin era como el cabello de las mujeres, y sus dientes como los de los leones. 9 Tenían corazas como corazas de hierro, y sus alas sonaban como carros llevados por caballos que corren a la guerra. 10 Tenían colas con aguijones, parecidas a las de los escorpiones, en las que llevaban el poder de hacer sufrir a la gente durante cinco meses. 11 El rey de las langostas era el ángel del abismo. Su nombre en hebreo es Abadón[b] y en griego es Apolión[c].
12 El primer gran desastre ya pasó, pero aun faltan por venir dos más.
13 El sexto ángel tocó la trompeta y oí una voz que venía desde los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro que está ante Dios. 14 La voz le dijo al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: «Deja libres a los cuatro ángeles que están atados junto al gran río Éufrates». 15 Los cuatro ángeles habían sido preparados precisamente para ese año, mes, día y hora, entonces fueron liberados para que mataran a la tercera parte de la humanidad. 16 Oí el número total de sus tropas a caballo: eran 200 000 000.
17 En mi visión, vi los caballos y sus jinetes con armaduras rojas como el fuego, azules como el jacinto y amarillas como el azufre. La cabeza de los caballos parecía de león y de su boca salía fuego, humo y azufre. 18 La tercera parte de los seres humanos murió a causa de estas tres plagas que salían de la boca de los caballos. 19 El poder de los caballos estaba en su boca y en su cola, que era como una serpiente que hería con la cabeza.
20 El resto de los seres humanos no murió por estas plagas, pero ni aun así no sintieron remordimiento por sus pecados ni dejaron de hacer maldades ni de adorar a los demonios, ni a los ídolos que habían hecho de oro, plata, bronce, piedra y madera, los cuales no pueden ver ni oír ni caminar. 21 Tampoco dejaron de cometer asesinatos, ni se apartaron de la brujería, ni de sus pecados sexuales, ni de sus robos.
