天使与小书卷
10 我看见另一位大力天使从天而降。他身披云霞，头顶彩虹，脸如太阳，双腿如火柱， 2 手中拿着一卷打开了的小书卷，右脚踏在海中，左脚踏在地上。 3 他大喊的时候，声如狮吼，之后有七声雷鸣。 4 我正要将雷鸣的意思记录下来，就听见天上有声音说：“你要封住七声雷鸣所说的事，别写下来。”
5 我刚才所见的那位脚踏海洋和陆地的天使向天举起右手， 6 凭着活到永永远远、创造天地海洋和其中一切的上帝起誓说：“必不再耽延了。 7 等第七位天使吹响号角时，上帝奥秘的计划就实现了，正如上帝向祂的奴仆——众先知所宣告的。”
8 先前从天上对我说话的声音又吩咐我：“你去，从那位脚踏海洋陆地的天使手中把展开的小书卷拿来。”
9 于是，我走到那天使面前，请他将小书卷给我。他对我说：“拿去，把它吃了。你的腹中会感到苦涩，可是你口中会觉得甘甜如蜜。” 10 我就从天使手中接过小书卷，将它吃了，我口中果然甘甜如蜜，之后腹中觉得苦涩。 11 那天使又对我说：“你必要再对许多民族、国家、语言族群、君王说预言。”

O anjo e o pequeno pergaminho
10 Depois vi outro anjo forte descendo do céu, envolto numa nuvem, com o arco-íris por cima de sua cabeça. Seu rosto era como o sol e as suas pernas como colunas de fogo. 2 O anjo tinha na mão um pequeno pergaminho aberto. Ele pôs o seu pé direito sobre o mar e o esquerdo sobre a terra 3 e gritou, com uma voz forte, da mesma forma que o leão faz quando ruge. Logo depois que ele gritou, os sete trovões levantaram suas vozes. 4 Assim que os trovões falaram, eu ia escrever, mas ouvi uma voz do céu, dizendo:
—Guarde em segredo as coisas que os sete trovões disseram e não as escreva.
5 Então o anjo, que vi em pé sobre o mar e sobre a terra, levantou a mão direita para o céu 6 e jurou por aquele que vive para todo o sempre, o Criador do céu, da terra, do mar e de tudo o que neles existe:
—Não haverá mais demora!
7 Mas, quando chegar a hora de ouvir o sétimo anjo, isto é, quando ele estiver para tocar a sua trombeta, então o plano secreto de Deus se cumprirá, conforme ele anunciou aos seus servos, os profetas.
8 A voz, que eu tinha ouvido vinda do céu, estava de novo falando comigo e dizendo:
—Vá e pegue o pergaminho que se encontra aberto na mão do anjo que está em pé sobre o mar e sobre a terra.
9 Então eu fui ao anjo e lhe pedi que me desse o pequeno pergaminho. Ele me disse:
—Pegue o pergaminho e coma-o. Ele será amargo no seu estômago, mas doce como mel na sua boca.
10 Então, peguei o pequeno pergaminho da mão do anjo e o comi. Na minha boca ele era doce como o mel, mas quando o comi o meu estômago ficou amargo. 11 Então me disseram:
—É necessário que você ainda profetize a respeito de muitos povos, nações, línguas e reis.

10 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
