8 耶和華卻對我的父親大衛說：‘你心想要為我的名建造殿宇，你心意很好； 9 不過不是由你建造殿宇，而是你的兒子，你親生的兒子，他必為我的名建殿。’ 10 現在耶和華實現了他所說過的話，我已經起來接續我的父親大衛，坐上了以色列的王位，就像耶和華所說的；我為耶和華以色列的 神的名建造了這殿。

8 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘You did well to have it in your heart to build a temple for my Name. 9 Nevertheless, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own flesh and blood—he is the one who will build the temple for my Name.’
10 “The Lord has kept the promise he made. I have succeeded David my father and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord promised, and I have built the temple for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
