12 羅波安的王位穩定，他也強盛起來，就離棄了耶和華的律法，全體以色列人也都跟隨他。 2 羅波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為他們得罪了耶和華。 3 示撒率領戰車一千二百輛，馬兵六萬，和他一同從埃及出來的路比人、蘇基人和古實人，多得無法數算。 4 他攻取了猶大境內的設防城，然後來到耶路撒冷。 5 那時，猶大的眾領袖，因為示撒的緣故，就聚集在耶路撒冷；示瑪雅先知就來見羅波安和眾領袖，對他們說：“耶和華這樣說：‘你們既然離棄了我，所以我也離棄你們，把你們交在示撒的手裡。’” 6 於是以色列的眾領袖和君王，都謙卑下來，說：“耶和華是公義的。”

12 But as soon as Rehoboam had secured his royal power, he, along with all Israel, abandoned the Lord’s Instruction.
Rehoboam rules
2 Egypt’s King Shishak attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam because Israel had been unfaithful to the Lord. 3 Accompanying Shishak from Egypt were twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand horses, and countless Libyan, Sukkite, and Cushite warriors. 4 He captured the fortified cities of Judah and came toward Jerusalem. 5 Then the prophet Shemaiah went to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and told them, This is what the Lord says: Since you have abandoned me, now I am abandoning you to Shishak’s power.
6 Then the leaders of Israel and the king submitted. “The Lord is right,” they said.
7 When the Lord saw that they had submitted, the Lord’s word came to Shemaiah: Since they have submitted, I won’t destroy them. I will deliver them in a little while, and I won’t use Shishak to pour out my anger against Jerusalem. 8 Nevertheless, they will be subject to him so that they learn the difference between serving me and serving other nations.
9 Egypt’s King Shishak attacked Jerusalem and seized the treasures of the Lord’s temple and the royal palace. He took everything, even the gold shields Solomon had made. 10 King Rehoboam replaced them with bronze shields and assigned them to the officers of the guard who protected the entrance to the royal palace. (11 Whenever the king entered the Lord’s temple, the guards would carry the shields and then return them to the guardroom.) 12 When Rehoboam submitted, the Lord was no longer angry with him, and total destruction was avoided. There were, after all, some good things still in Judah.
13 So King Rehoboam was securely established in Jerusalem. Rehoboam was 41 years old when he became king, and he ruled seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the Lord had chosen from all the tribes of Israel to put his name. His mother’s name was Naamah from Ammon. 14 But Rehoboam did what was evil because he didn’t set his heart on seeking the Lord. 15 The deeds of Rehoboam, from beginning to end, aren’t they written in the records of the prophet Shemaiah and the seer Iddo, including the genealogical records? There was continual warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. 16 Rehoboam lay down with his ancestors and was buried in David’s City. His son Abijah[a] succeeded him as king.

Egypt Attacks Judah
12 When the rule of Rehobo′am was established and was strong, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him. 2 In the fifth year of King Rehobo′am, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem 3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And the people were without number who came with him from Egypt—Libyans, Suk′ki-im, and Ethiopians. 4 And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 5 Then Shemai′ah the prophet came to Rehobo′am and to the princes of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Thus says the Lord, ‘You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak.’” 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is righteous.” 7 When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemai′ah: “They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. 8 Nevertheless they shall be servants to him, that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.”
9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem; he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house; he took away everything. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made; 10 and King Rehobo′am made in their stead shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the officers of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house. 11 And as often as the king went into the house of the Lord, the guard came and bore them, and brought them back to the guardroom. 12 And when he humbled himself the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to make a complete destruction; moreover, conditions were good in Judah.
Death of Rehoboam
13 So King Rehobo′am established himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Rehobo′am was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother’s name was Na′amah the Ammonitess. 14 And he did evil, for he did not set his heart to seek the Lord.
15 Now the acts of Rehobo′am, from first to last, are they not written in the chronicles of Shemai′ah the prophet and of Iddo the seer?[a] There were continual wars between Rehobo′am and Jerobo′am. 16 And Rehobo′am slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; and Abi′jah his son reigned in his stead.

12 Cuando Roboam había consolidado el reino, abandonó la ley de Jehová, y todo Israel con él.
2 Y por cuanto se habían rebelado contra Jehová, en el quinto año del rey Roboam subió Sisac rey de Egipto contra Jerusalén,
3 con mil doscientos carros, y con sesenta mil hombres de a caballo; mas el pueblo que venía con él de Egipto, esto es, de libios, suquienos y etíopes, no tenía número.
4 Y tomó las ciudades fortificadas de Judá, y llegó hasta Jerusalén.
5 Entonces vino el profeta Semaías a Roboam y a los príncipes de Judá, que estaban reunidos en Jerusalén por causa de Sisac, y les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Vosotros me habéis dejado, y yo también os he dejado en manos de Sisac.
6 Y los príncipes de Israel y el rey se humillaron, y dijeron: Justo es Jehová.
7 Y cuando Jehová vio que se habían humillado, vino palabra de Jehová a Semaías, diciendo: Se han humillado; no los destruiré; antes los salvaré en breve, y no se derramará mi ira contra Jerusalén por mano de Sisac.
8 Pero serán sus siervos, para que sepan lo que es servirme a mí, y qué es servir a los reinos de las naciones.
9 Subió, pues, Sisac rey de Egipto a Jerusalén, y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa del rey; todo lo llevó, y tomó los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho.
10 Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de bronce, y los entregó a los jefes de la guardia, los cuales custodiaban la entrada de la casa del rey.
11 Cuando el rey iba a la casa de Jehová, venían los de la guardia y los llevaban, y después los volvían a la cámara de la guardia.
12 Y cuando él se humilló, la ira de Jehová se apartó de él, para no destruirlo del todo; y también en Judá las cosas fueron bien.
13 Fortalecido, pues, Roboam, reinó en Jerusalén; y era Roboam de cuarenta y un años cuando comenzó a reinar, y diecisiete años reinó en Jerusalén, ciudad que escogió Jehová de todas las tribus de Israel para poner en ella su nombre. Y el nombre de la madre de Roboam fue Naamá amonita.
14 E hizo lo malo, porque no dispuso su corazón para buscar a Jehová.
15 Las cosas de Roboam, primeras y postreras, ¿no están escritas en los libros del profeta Semaías y del vidente Iddó, en el registro de las familias? Y entre Roboam y Jeroboam hubo guerra constante.
16 Y durmió Roboam con sus padres, y fue sepultado en la ciudad de David; y reinó en su lugar Abías su hijo.
