所罗门诣基遍献祭
1 大卫的儿子所罗门国位坚固，耶和华他的神与他同在，使他甚为尊大。 2 所罗门吩咐以色列众人，就是千夫长、百夫长、审判官、首领与族长都来。 3 所罗门和会众都往基遍的丘坛去，因那里有神的会幕，就是耶和华仆人摩西在旷野所制造的—— 4 只是神的约柜，大卫已经从基列耶琳搬到他所预备的地方，因他曾在耶路撒冷为约柜支搭了帐幕—— 5 并且户珥的孙子、乌利的儿子比撒列所造的铜坛也在基遍耶和华的会幕前。所罗门和会众都就近坛前。 6 所罗门上到耶和华面前会幕的铜坛那里，献一千牺牲为燔祭。
祈求智慧
7 当夜，神向所罗门显现，对他说：“你愿我赐你什么，你可以求。” 8 所罗门对神说：“你曾向我父大卫大施慈爱，使我接续他做王。 9 耶和华神啊，现在求你成就向我父大卫所应许的话，因你立我做这民的王，他们如同地上尘沙那样多。 10 求你赐我智慧、聪明，我好在这民前出入，不然谁能判断这众多的民呢？”

11 神对所罗门说：“我已立你做我民的王，你既有这心意，并不求资财、丰富、尊荣，也不求灭绝那恨你之人的性命，又不求大寿数，只求智慧、聪明好判断我的民， 12 我必赐你智慧、聪明，也必赐你资财、丰富、尊荣，在你以前的列王都没有这样，在你以后也必没有这样的。” 13 于是所罗门从基遍丘坛会幕前回到耶路撒冷，治理以色列人。
14 所罗门聚集战车马兵，有战车一千四百辆，马兵一万二千名，安置在屯车的城邑和耶路撒冷，就是王那里。 15 王在耶路撒冷使金银多如石头，香柏木多如高原的桑树。 16 所罗门的马是从埃及带来的，是王的商人一群一群按着定价买来的。 17 他们从埃及买来的车每辆价银六百舍客勒，马每匹一百五十舍客勒。赫人诸王和亚兰诸王所买的车马，也是按这价值经他们手买来的。

1 And Sh’lomo Ben Dovid was strengthened in his kingdom, and Hashem Elohav was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2 Then Sh’lomo spoke unto kol Yisroel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and to the shofetim, and to every Nasi in kol Yisroel, the Rashei HaAvot.
3 So Sh’lomo, and Kol HaKahal with him, went to the high place that was at Giv’on, for there was the Ohel Mo’ed HaElohim, which Moshe eved Hashem had made in the midbar.
4 But the Aron HaElohim Dovid had brought up from Kiryat-Yearim to the place which Dovid had prepared for it; for he had pitched an Ohel for it at Yerushalayim.
5 Moreover the Mizbe’ach Hanechoshet, that Betzalel ben Uri ben Chur had made, he put in front of the Mishkan Hashem; and Sh’lomo and HaKahal inquired of Him.
6 And Sh’lomo went up there to the Mizbe’ach Hanechoshet before Hashem, which was at the Ohel Mo’ed, and offered a thousand olot upon it.
7 In that lailah did Elohim appear unto Sh’lomo, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8 And Sh’lomo said unto Elohim, Thou hast showed chesed gadol unto Dovid Avi, and hast made me to reign in his place.
9 Now, Hashem Elohim, let Thy Davar unto Dovid Avi be established, for Thou hast made me melech over Am Rav like the aphar ha’aretz in multitude.
10 Give me now chochmah and intelligence, that I may go out and come in before HaAm Hazeh, for who can judge this Thy people, that is so great?
11 And Elohim said to Sh’lomo, Because this was in thine levav, and thou hast not asked osher, riches, or kavod, nor the nefesh of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked yamim rabbim (many days, long life), but hast asked chochmah and intelligence for thyself, that thou mayest judge My people, over whom I have made thee melech,
12 Chochmah and intelligence is granted unto thee; and I will give thee osher, and riches, and kavod, such as none of the melachim have had that be before or after thee.
13 Then Sh’lomo came from his journey to the high place that was at Giv’on, from before the Ohel Mo’ed, to Yerushalayim, and reigned over Yisroel.
14 And Sh’lomo gathered chariots and parashim (horsemen); and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand parashim, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with HaMelech at Yerushalayim.
15 And HaMelech made kesef and zahav at Yerushalayim as plenteous as avanim, and cedar trees he made as abundant as the sycomore fig trees that are in the Shefelah.
16 And Sh’lomo had susim imported from Mitzrayim and from Keve; the royal buyers purchased them from Keve.
17 And they imported from Mitzrayim, and then exported a merkavah (chariot) for six hundred shekels of kesef, and a sus (horse) for a hundred and fifty; and so they exported susim to all the melachim of the Chittim, and to the melachim of Aram (Syria).

El rey Salomón pide sabiduría
1 Salomón, hijo de David, se estableció firmemente en su reino(A), y el Señor su Dios estaba con él y lo engrandeció en gran manera(B). 2 Y Salomón habló a todo Israel, a los capitanes de miles y de cientos, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel(C), jefes de casas paternas. 3 Entonces Salomón y toda la asamblea con él fueron al lugar alto que había en Gabaón(D), porque allí estaba la tienda de reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo del Señor, había hecho en el desierto(E). 4 Pero David había traído el arca de Dios de Quiriat Jearim al lugar que había preparado para ella(F), porque le había levantado una tienda(G) en Jerusalén. 5 Y el altar de bronce(H) que había hecho Bezalel, hijo de Uri, hijo de Hur, estaba delante del tabernáculo del Señor, al cual consultaron Salomón y la asamblea. 6 Subió Salomón allí, delante del Señor, al altar de bronce que estaba en la tienda de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos(I).
7 (J)Aquella noche Dios se apareció a Salomón y le dijo: «Pide lo que quieras que Yo te dé». 8 Entonces Salomón dijo a Dios: «Tú has mostrado gran misericordia con mi padre David, y me has hecho rey en su lugar(K). 9 Ahora, oh Señor Dios, Tu promesa a mi padre David se ha cumplido(L), porque me has hecho rey sobre un pueblo tan numeroso como el polvo de la tierra(M). 10 Dame ahora sabiduría y conocimiento, para que pueda salir y entrar delante de este pueblo; porque, ¿quién podrá juzgar a este pueblo Tuyo tan grande(N)?».
11 Y dijo Dios a Salomón: «Por cuanto esto estaba en tu corazón, y no has pedido riquezas, ni bienes, ni gloria, ni la vida de los que te odian, ni aun has pedido larga vida, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y conocimiento(O) para poder gobernar a Mi pueblo sobre el cual te he hecho rey, 12 sabiduría y conocimiento te han sido concedidos. También te daré riquezas y bienes y gloria, tales como no las tuvieron ninguno de los reyes que fueron antes de ti(P), ni los que vendrán después de ti». 13 Salomón salió del lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, de la tienda de reunión(Q), a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel.
14 (R)Y Salomón juntó carros y hombres de a caballo; y tenía 1,400 carros y 12,000 hombres de a caballo(S), y los puso en las ciudades de los carros(T), y en Jerusalén, junto al rey. 15 El rey hizo la plata y el oro tan común(U) en Jerusalén como las piedras, e hizo los cedros tan abundantes como los sicómoros en el llano[a](V). 16 Los caballos de Salomón eran importados de Egipto(W) y de Coa, y[b] los mercaderes del rey los adquirían de Coa[c] por cierto precio. 17 Y se importaba un carro de Egipto por 600 siclos (6.84 kilos) de plata, y un caballo por 150 y de la misma manera los exportaban a todos los reyes de los hititas y a los reyes de Aram.
