所罗门王求智慧
1 大卫的儿子所罗门巩固了自己的王位。因为他的上帝耶和华与他同在，使他极其伟大。
2 所罗门召集所有以色列人，包括千夫长、百夫长、审判官、首领和族长， 3 与他们一起去基遍的丘坛，因为那里有上帝的会幕，是耶和华的仆人摩西在旷野制造的。 4 大卫已经把上帝的约柜从基列·耶琳搬到耶路撒冷，因为他在那里为约柜搭了一个帐篷。 5 户珥的孙子、乌利的儿子比撒列造的铜坛在基遍耶和华的会幕前，所罗门和会众就在那里求问耶和华。 6 所罗门上到耶和华会幕前的铜坛那里，献上一千头祭牲作为燔祭。

13 于是，所罗门从基遍丘坛的会幕前回到耶路撒冷治理以色列。

14 所罗门组建了战车和骑兵，有一千四百辆战车、一万二千名骑兵，驻扎在屯车城和他所在的耶路撒冷。 15 王使耶路撒冷的金银多如石头，使香柏木多如丘陵的无花果树。 16 所罗门的马匹都是由王室商队从埃及和古厄按定价买来的。 17 他们从埃及买来的车马，每辆车六百块银子，每匹马一百五十块银子，他们也把车马卖给赫人诸王和亚兰诸王。

1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2 Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
3 So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.
4 But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5 Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.
6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
9 Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
17 And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

1 Salomón, hijo de David, consiguió fortalecer su reinado con la ayuda del Señor, que aumentó muchísimo su poder. 2 Entonces llamó a todo Israel: a los jefes militares, a los principales funcionarios y a todos los jefes de familia que tenían autoridad en Israel. 3 Y con toda la gente que se había reunido fue al santuario que había en Gabaón, porque allí estaba la tienda del encuentro con Dios, que Moisés, siervo de Dios, había hecho en el desierto. 4 Pero David había llevado el arca de Dios desde Quiriat-jearim hasta el sitio que le tenía preparado, pues le había levantado una tienda de campaña en Jerusalén. 5 El altar de bronce que había hecho Besalel, hijo de Urí y nieto de Hur, también estaba en Gabaón delante de la tienda del Señor. Salomón y toda la comunidad fueron allí a consultarlo.
6 Salomón subió al altar de bronce que estaba ante el Señor, frente a la tienda del encuentro con Dios, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.
7 Y aquella misma noche, Dios se apareció a Salomón y le dijo: «Pídeme lo que quieras, y yo te lo daré.»
8 Salomón le respondió a Dios: «Tú trataste con gran bondad a mi padre David, y a mí me pusiste a reinar en su lugar. 9 Ahora pues, Dios y Señor, cumple lo que dijiste a David mi padre, ya que me hiciste rey de un pueblo tan numeroso como el polvo de la tierra. 10 Por tanto, dame sabiduría y conocimiento para dirigir a este pueblo; porque ¿quién va a gobernar a este pueblo tuyo tan grande?»
11 Dios respondió a Salomón: «Puesto que éste ha sido tu deseo, y no has pedido riquezas ni bienes ni honores, ni la muerte de tus enemigos, ni tampoco una larga vida, sino sabiduría y conocimiento para poder gobernar a mi pueblo, del que te hice rey, 12 te concedo sabiduría y conocimiento, pero además te daré riquezas, bienes y honores, como no tuvieron los reyes que hubo antes de ti ni los tendrán los que habrá después de ti.»
13 Después Salomón volvió a Jerusalén desde el santuario que había en Gabaón, y luego de haber visitado la tienda del encuentro con Dios, reinó en Israel.

14 Salomón reunió carros y jinetes. Tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales destinó a los cuarteles de carros de combate y a la guardia real en Jerusalén. 15 El rey hizo que en Jerusalén hubiera tanta plata y oro como piedras; y que abundara el cedro como las higueras silvestres en la llanura. 16 Los caballos para Salomón eran llevados de Musri y de Cilicia, pues los comerciantes de la corte los compraban allí. 17 Un carro importado de Egipto valía seiscientas monedas de plata, y un caballo, ciento cincuenta. Y todos los reyes hititas y sirios los compraban por medio de los agentes de Salomón.

Solomon Asks for Wisdom(A)(B)
1 Solomon son of David established(C) himself firmly over his kingdom, for the Lord his God was with(D) him and made him exceedingly great.(E)
2 Then Solomon spoke to all Israel(F)—to the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, to the judges and to all the leaders in Israel, the heads of families— 3 and Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at Gibeon,(G) for God’s tent of meeting(H) was there, which Moses(I) the Lord’s servant had made in the wilderness. 4 Now David had brought up the ark(J) of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent(K) for it in Jerusalem. 5 But the bronze altar(L) that Bezalel(M) son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was in Gibeon in front of the tabernacle of the Lord; so Solomon and the assembly inquired(N) of him there. 6 Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord in the tent of meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.
7 That night God appeared(O) to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
8 Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me(P) king in his place. 9 Now, Lord God, let your promise(Q) to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.(R) 10 Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead(S) this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth,(T) possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor,(U) such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.(V)”
13 Then Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting. And he reigned over Israel.
14 Solomon accumulated chariots(W) and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses,[a] which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem. 15 The king made silver and gold(X) as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills. 16 Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue[b]—the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price. 17 They imported a chariot(Y) from Egypt for six hundred shekels[c] of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty.[d] They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.

Salomo ber Gud om vishet
1 Kung Davids son Salomo hade nu etablerat sig som suverän härskare över Israel, och Herren, hans Gud, hade gjort honom mycket mäktig.
2-3 Han kallade samman alla officerare i armén, alla domare och alla andra ledare. De gick till det gamla tabernaklet, det tält som Mose hade gjort i öknen, och som nu fanns uppe på höjden i Gibeon.
4 Det fanns ett senare iordningställt tält i Jerusalem, som kung David låtit bygga åt Guds ark när han flyttade den från Kirjat-Jearim.
5-6 Men kopparaltaret, som var gjort av Besalel, Uris son och Hurs sonson, stod fortfarande framför det gamla tabernaklet. Nu samlades Salomo och alla de inbjudna framför altaret, och där offrade han 1.000 brännoffer till Herren.
7 Den natten uppenbarade sig Gud för Salomo och sa: Be mig om vad du vill, så ska du få det!
8 Salomo svarade: Gud, du har varit så god och barmhärtig mot min far David, och nu har du gett mig riket.
9 Du har redan infriat ditt löfte till min far David och har gjort mig till kung över ett folk som består av lika många människor som jorden är full av gruskorn!
10 Men ge mig nu vishet och kunskap, så att jag kan regera över dem på rätt sätt, för vem kan av sig själv styra en så stor nation som denna?
11 Gud svarade: Därför att din största önskan är att hjälpa mitt folk, och därför att du inte har bett om personlig rikedom och ära eller ett långt liv, och inte heller bett mig om att förbanna dina fiender, utan om vishet och kunskap för att rätt kunna leda mitt folk -
12 ja, därför ska jag ge dig den vishet och kunskap som du har bett om. Men jag ska också ge dig mer rikedom och ära än någon kung någonsin haft före dig! Och det kommer aldrig mer att finnas en mäktigare kung i hela världen!
13 Sedan lämnade Salomo Herrens tält, gick tillbaka ner från höjden och återvände till Jerusalem för att regera över Israel.
14 Han byggde upp ett stort försvar med 1.400 vagnar och 12.000 ridhästar och förlade styrkorna dels i de städer där vagnarna fanns uppställda, dels i Jerusalem, nära kungen själv.
15 Under Salomos regering var silver och guld lika vanligt i Jerusalem som sten. Dyrbart cederträ användes som om det var billigt mullbärsfikonträ.
16 Salomos hästar köptes i Egypten.
17 Därifrån kunde man få en vagn för 600 siklar silver och en häst för 150 siklar. Många av dessa såldes sedan vidare till kungarna i Aram och till hetiternas kungar.
