The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub, Shimron.

The sons of Tola, each of whom was the head of a subclan: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, Shemuel.

At the time of King David, the total number of men of war from these families was 22,600.

Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah among whose five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah, all chiefs of subclans. Their descendants, at the time of King David, numbered 36,000 troops; for all five of them had several wives and many sons. The total number of men available for military service from all the clans of the tribe of Issachar was 87,000 stouthearted warriors, all included in the official genealogy.

The sons of Benjamin were: Bela, Becher, Jediael.

The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, Iri.

These five mighty warriors were chiefs of subclans and were the leaders of 22,034 troops (all of whom were recorded in the official genealogies).

The sons of Becher were: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, Alemeth.

At the time of David there were 20,200 mighty warriors among their descendants; and they were led by their clan chiefs.

10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan.

The sons of Bilhan were: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, Ahishahar.

11 They were the chiefs of the subclans of Jediael, and their descendants included 17,200 warriors at the time of King David.

12 The sons of Ir were Shuppim and Huppim. Hushim was one of the sons of Aher.

13 The sons of Naphtali (descendants of Jacob’s wife[a] Bilhah) were: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, Shallum.

14 The sons of Manasseh, born to his Aramaean concubine, were Asriel and Machir (who became the father of Gilead).

15 It was Machir who found wives for Huppim and Shuppim.[b] Machir’s sister was Maacah. Another descendant was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.

16 Machir’s wife, also named Maacah, bore him a son whom she named Peresh; his brother’s name was Sheresh, and he had sons named Ulam and Rakem.

17 Ulam’s son was Bedan. So these were the sons of Gilead, the grandsons of Machir, and the great-grandsons of Manasseh.

18 Hammolecheth, Machir’s sister, bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.

19 The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

20-21 The sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered, Tahath, Eleadah, Tahath, Zabad, Shuthelah, Ezer, Elead.

Elead and Ezer attempted to rustle cattle at Gath, but they were killed by the local farmers. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned for them a long time, and his brothers tried to comfort him. 23 Afterwards his wife conceived and bore a son whom he called Beriah (meaning “a tragedy”) because of what had happened.

24 Ephraim’s daughter’s name was Sheerah. She built Lower and Upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah.

25-27 This is Ephraim’s line of descent:

Rephah, the father of

Ladan, the father of

Ammihud, the father of

Elishama, the father of

Nun, the father of

Joshua.

28 They lived in an area bounded on one side by Bethel and its surrounding towns, on the east by Naaran, on the west by Gezer and its villages, and finally by Shechem and its surrounding villages as far as Ayyah and its towns.

29 The tribe of Manasseh, descendants of Joseph the son of Israel, controlled the following cities and their surrounding areas: Beth-shean, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor.

30 The children of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, Serah (their sister).

31 The sons of Beriah were: Heber, Malchiel (the father of Birzaith).

32 Heber’s children were: Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, Shua (their sister).

33 Japhlet’s sons were: Pasach, Bimhal, Ashvath.

34 His brother Shomer’s[c] sons were: Rohgah, Jehubbah, Aram.

35 The sons of his brother Hotham[d] were: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, Amal.

36-37 The sons of Zophah were: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, Beera.

38 The sons of Ithran[e] were: Jephunneh, Pispa, Ara.

39 The sons of Ulla were: Arah, Hanniel, Rizia.

40 These descendants of Asher were heads of subclans and were all skilled warriors and chiefs. Their descendants in the official genealogy numbered 36,000 men of war.

The Family of Issachar(A)

The sons of Issachar were (B)Tola, [a]Puah, [b]Jashub, and Shimron—four in all. The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house. The sons of Tola were mighty men of valor in their generations; (C)their number in the days of David was twenty-two thousand six hundred. The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah, and the sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Ishiah. All five of them were chief men. And with them, by their generations, according to their fathers’ houses, were thirty-six thousand troops ready for war; for they had many wives and sons.

Now their brethren among all the families of Issachar were mighty men of valor, listed by their genealogies, eighty-seven thousand in all.

The Family of Benjamin(D)

The sons of (E)Benjamin were Bela, Becher, and Jediael—three in all. The sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri—five in all. They were heads of their fathers’ houses, and they were listed by their genealogies, twenty-two thousand and thirty-four mighty men of valor.

The sons of Becher were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these are the sons of Becher. And they were recorded by genealogy according to their generations, heads of their fathers’ houses, twenty thousand two hundred mighty men of valor. 10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan, and the sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tharshish, and Ahishahar.

11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of their fathers’ houses; there were seventeen thousand two hundred mighty men of valor fit to go out for war and battle. 12 [c]Shuppim and [d]Huppim were the sons of [e]Ir, and Hushim was the son of [f]Aher.

The Family of Naphtali(F)

13 The (G)sons of Naphtali were [g]Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and [h]Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.

The Family of Manasseh (West)

14 The (H)descendants of Manasseh: his Syrian concubine bore him (I)Machir the father of Gilead, the father of Asriel. 15 Machir took as his wife the sister of [i]Huppim and [j]Shuppim, whose name was Maachah. The name of Gilead’s [k]grandson was (J)Zelophehad, but Zelophehad begot only daughters. 16 (Maachah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh. The name of his brother was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 The son of Ulam was (K)Bedan.) These were the descendants of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

18 His sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, [l]Abiezer, and Mahlah.

19 And the sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

The Family of Ephraim

20 (L)The sons of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eladah his son, Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead. The men of Gath who were born in that land killed them because they came down to take away their cattle. 22 Then Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.

23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name [m]Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house. 24 Now his daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper (M)Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah; 25 and Rephah was his son, as well as Resheph, and Telah his son, Tahan his son, 26 Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, (N)Elishama his son, 27 [n]Nun his son, and (O)Joshua his son.

28 Now their (P)possessions and dwelling places were Bethel and its towns: to the east [o]Naaran, to the west Gezer and its towns, and Shechem and its towns, as far as [p]Ayyah and its towns; 29 and by the borders of the children of (Q)Manasseh were Beth Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, (R)Megiddo and its towns, Dor and its towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph, the son of Israel.

The Family of Asher(S)

30 (T)The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. 31 The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel, who was the father of [q]Birzaith. 32 And Heber begot Japhlet, [r]Shomer, [s]Hotham, and their sister Shua. 33 The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the children of Japhlet. 34 The sons of (U)Shemer were Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. 35 And the sons of his brother Helem were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, [t]Jithran, and Beera. 38 The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara. 39 The sons of Ulla were Arah, Haniel, and Rizia.

40 All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers’ houses, choice men, mighty men of valor, chief leaders. And they were recorded by genealogies among the army fit for battle; their number was twenty-six thousand.

Now the sons of Issachar were, Tola, and Puah, Jashub, and Shimrom, four.

And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father's house, to wit, of Tola: they were valiant men of might in their generations; whose number was in the days of David two and twenty thousand and six hundred.

And the sons of Uzzi; Izrahiah: and the sons of Izrahiah; Michael, and Obadiah, and Joel, Ishiah, five: all of them chief men.

And with them, by their generations, after the house of their fathers, were bands of soldiers for war, six and thirty thousand men: for they had many wives and sons.

And their brethren among all the families of Issachar were valiant men of might, reckoned in all by their genealogies fourscore and seven thousand.

The sons of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and Jediael, three.

And the sons of Bela; Ezbon, and Uzzi, and Uzziel, and Jerimoth, and Iri, five; heads of the house of their fathers, mighty men of valour; and were reckoned by their genealogies twenty and two thousand and thirty and four.

11 All these the sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers, mighty men of valour, were seventeen thousand and two hundred soldiers, fit to go out for war and battle.

12 Shuppim also, and Huppim, the children of Ir, and Hushim, the sons of Aher.

13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.

14 The sons of Manasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare: (but his concubine the Aramitess bare Machir the father of Gilead:

15 And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters.

16 And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a son, and she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.

17 And the sons of Ulam; Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

29 And by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Bethshean and her towns, Taanach and her towns, Megiddo and her towns, Dor and her towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph the son of Israel.

Rod Isacharův

Synové Isacharovi:

Tola, Pua, Jašub a Šimron – celkem čtyři.

Synové Tolovi:

Uzi, Refajáš, Jeriel, Jachmaj, Jibsam a Samuel, vůdcové svých otcovských rodů. Za dnů Davidových byli Tolovi potomci zapsáni v rodopisech v počtu 22 600 udatných bojovníků.

Syn Uziho:

Jizrachiáš.

Synové Jizrachiáše:

Michael, Obadiáš, Joel, Jišiáš. Všech pět byli vůdcové. Podle jejich rodopisů měl jejich otcovský rod 36 000 vojáků ve zbrani, neboť měli mnoho žen a synů.

Asriel, jehož mu porodila jeho aramejská družka. Porodila také Machira, otce Gileádova. 15 Machir si vzal ženu jménem Maaka, sestru Šupima a Chupima. Manasesův druhorozený se jmenoval Celofchad a ten měl samé dcery.

16 Machirova žena Maaka porodila syna, jehož pojmenovala Pereš. Jeho bratr se jmenoval Šereš a jeho synové byli Ulam a Rekem.

17 Syn Ulamův:

Bedan.

To jsou synové Gileáda, syna Machirova, syna Manasesova. 18 Jeho sestra Molechet porodila Išhoda, Abiezera a Machlu.

19 Synové Šemidovi: Achian, Šechem, Likchi a Aniam.

Rod Efraimův

20 Synové Efraimovi:

Šutelach, jeho syn Bered,

jeho syn Tachat, jeho syn Eleada,

jeho syn Tachat, 21 jeho syn Zabad

a jeho syn Šutelach.

Ezera a Eleada zabili domorodci z Gatu, když jim přišli pobrat dobytek. 22 Jejich otec Efraim je dlouho oplakával a jejich sourozenci ho přišli utěšovat. 23 Potom se miloval se svou ženou, ta počala, porodila syna a on mu dal jméno Beria, Neštěstí, protože do jeho domu přišlo neštěstí.

24 Jeho dcera Šeera vystavěla Dolní i Horní Bet-choron a Uzen-šeeru.

25 Jeho synové byli Refach a Rešef;

jeho syn byl Telach, jeho syn Tachan,

26 jeho syn Ladan, jeho syn Amihud,

jeho syn Elišama, 27 jeho syn Nun

a jeho syn Jozue.

28 Jejich vlastnictvím a bydlištěm byl Bet-el s okolními vesnicemi, od Naaranu na východě po Gezer a jeho vesnice na západě, dále Šechem a jeho vesnice až k Aji a jeho vesnicím. 29 Podél hranic se syny Manasesovými pak Bet-šean, Taanach, Megido a Dor s jejich vesnicemi. Tam všude bydleli synové Josefa, syna Izraelova.

Rod Ašerův

30 Synové Ašerovi:

Jimna, Jišva, Jišvi, Beria a jejich sestra Serach.

31 Synové Beriovi:

Cheber a Malkiel, což je otec Birzaitův.

32 Cheber zplodil Jafleta, Šomera, Chotama a jejich sestru Šúu.

33 Synové Jafletovi:

Pasach, Bimhal a Ašvat – to jsou Jafletovi synové.

34 Synové Šemerovi:

Achi, Rohga, Jechuba a Aram.

35 Synové jeho bratra Chelema:

Cofach, Jimna, Šeleš a Amal.

36 Synové Cofachovi:

Suach, Charnefer, Šual, Beri, Jimra, 37 Becer, Hod, Šama, Šilša, Jitran a Beera.

38 Synové Jeterovi:

Jefune, Pispa a Ara.

39 Synové Ulovi:

Arach, Chaniel a Ricja.

40 Ti všichni jsou synové Ašerovi, náčelníci svých otcovských rodů, vybraní udatní bojovníci, přední vůdcové. V jejich rodovém seznamu je zapsáno 26 000 bojeschopných mužů.
