Descendientes de Judá

4 Los hijos de Judá fueron Pérez, Hazrón, Carmi, Hur y Sobal(A). 2 Reaía, hijo de Sobal, fue padre de Jahat, y Jahat fue el padre de Ahumai y de Lahad. Estas fueron las familias de los zoratitas. 3 Estos fueron los hijos de Etam: Jezreel, Isma e Ibdas; y el nombre de su hermana era Hazelelponi. 4 Penuel fue el padre de Gedor, y Ezer, padre de Husa. Estos fueron los hijos de Hur, primogénito de Efrata, padre de Belén. 5 Asur, padre de Tecoa, tuvo dos mujeres: Hela y Naara. 6 Naara dio a luz a Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni y Ahastari. Estos fueron los hijos de Naara. 7 Los hijos de Hela fueron Zeret, Izhar y Etnán. 8 Cos fue el padre de Anub y Zobeba y de las familias de Aharhel, hijo de Harum.

9 Jabes fue más ilustre que sus hermanos, y su madre lo llamó Jabes, diciendo: «Porque lo di a luz con dolor». 10 Jabes invocó al Dios de Israel, diciendo: «¡Oh, si en verdad me bendijeras, ensancharas mi territorio, y Tu mano estuviera conmigo y me guardaras del mal para que no me causara dolor!». Y Dios le concedió lo que pidió.

11 Quelub, hermano de Súa, fue el padre de Mehir, que fue padre de Estón. 12 Estón fue el padre de Bet Rafa, de Paseah y de Tehina, padre de Ir Nahas. Estos son los hombres de Reca.

13 Los hijos de Quenaz fueron Otoniel y Seraías. Y los hijos de Otoniel fueron Hatat y Meonotai[a]. 14 Meonotai el padre de Ofra, y Seraías fue el padre de Joab, padre de Gue Jarasim, porque eran artífices. 15 Los hijos de Caleb, hijo de Jefone, fueron Iru, Ela y Naam; y el hijo de Ela fue Quenaz. 16 Los hijos de Jehalelel fueron Zif y Zifa, Tirías y Asareel.

17 Los hijos de Esdras fueron Jeter, Mered, Efer y Jalón. (Estos son los hijos de Bitia, hija de Faraón, que Mered tomó por mujer)[b]. Bitia concibió y dio a luz a Miriam, a Samai y a Isba, padre de Estemoa. 18 Y su mujer Jehudaía dio a luz a Jered, padre de Gedor, a Heber, padre de Soco, y a Jecutiel, padre de Zanoa. 19 Los hijos de la mujer de Hodías, hermana de Naham, fueron los padres de Keila el garmita y Estemoa el maacateo. 20 Los hijos de Simón fueron Amnón y Rina, Ben Hanán y Tilón. Y los hijos de Isi fueron Zohet y Benzohet. 21 Los hijos de Sela, hijo de Judá, fueron Er, padre de Leca, y Laada, padre de Maresa, y las familias de la casa de los que trabajaban el lino en Bet Asbea; 22 y Joacim, los hombres de Cozeba, Joás y Saraf, que gobernaban en Moab, y Jasubi Lehem. Y los registros[c] son antiguos. 23 Estos eran alfareros y habitantes de Netaím y Gedera; moraban allí con el rey para hacer su trabajo.

Descendientes de Simeón

24 Los hijos de Simeón fueron Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl; 25 Salum su hijo, Mibsam su hijo, Misma su hijo. 26 Los hijos de Misma fueron Hamuel su hijo, Zacur su hijo, Simei su hijo. 27 Simei tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas, pero sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni se multiplicaron todas sus familias como los hijos de Judá. 28 (B)Y habitaron en Beerseba, Molada y Hazar Sual, 29 en Bilha, Ezem, Tolad, 30 Betuel, Horma, Siclag, 31 Bet Marcabot, Hazar Susim, Bet Birai y Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reinado de David. 32 Y sus aldeas fueron Etam, Aín, Rimón, Toquén y Asán, cinco ciudades; 33 y todas sus aldeas que estaban alrededor de las mismas ciudades hasta Baal. Estas fueron sus moradas, y tienen su genealogía.

34 Y Mesobab, Jamlec, Josías, hijo de Amasías, 35 Joel, Jehú, hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel, 36 Elioenai, Jaacoba, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaía, 37 Ziza, hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías; 38 estos, mencionados por nombre, fueron jefes de sus familias; y sus casas paternas aumentaron en gran manera. 39 Ellos fueron a la entrada de Gedor, hasta el lado oriental del valle, para buscar pastos para sus ganados. 40 Allí encontraron pastos abundantes y buenos, y la tierra era espaciosa, tranquila y reposada, porque los que habitaban antes allí eran los de Cam(C). 41 Estos, registrados por nombre(D), llegaron en los días de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y atacaron[d] sus tiendas y a los meunitas que se encontraban allí, y los destruyeron completamente hasta el día de hoy, y habitaron en su lugar, porque allí había pastos para sus ganados. 42 Y de ellos, de los hijos de Simeón, 500 hombres fueron al monte Seir(E), con Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isi, como sus jefes. 43 Y destruyeron al remanente de los de Amalec(F), que habían escapado, y allí han habitado hasta el día de hoy.

The Family of Judah

4 The sons of Judah were (A)Perez, Hezron, [a]Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. 2 And [b]Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites. 3 These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi; 4 and Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah.

These were the sons of (B)Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah the father of Bethlehem.

5 And (C)Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah. 6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah. 7 The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan; 8 and Koz begot Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9 Now Jabez was (D)more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name [c]Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my [d]territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

11 Chelub the brother of (E)Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 12 And Eshton begot Beth-Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of [e]Ir-Nahash. These were the men of Rechah.

13 The sons of Kenaz were (F)Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel were [f]Hathath, 14 and Meonothai who begot Ophrah. Seraiah begot Joab the father of (G)Ge Harashim,[g] for they were craftsmen. 15 The sons of (H)Caleb the son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah was [h]Kenaz. 16 The sons of Jehallelel were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel. 17 The sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And [i]Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa. 18 ([j]His wife Jehudijah bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Sochoh, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) And these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19 The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the (I)Maachathite. 20 And the sons of Shimon were Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21 The sons of (J)Shelah (K)the son of Judah were Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the linen workers of the house of Ashbea; 22 also Jokim, the men of Chozeba, and Joash; Saraph, who ruled in Moab, and Jashubi-Lehem. Now the [k]records are ancient. 23 These were the potters and those who dwell at [l]Netaim and [m]Gederah; there they dwelt with the king for his work.

The Family of Simeon(L)

24 The (M)sons of Simeon were [n]Nemuel, Jamin, [o]Jarib, [p]Zerah, and Shaul, 25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son. 26 And the sons of Mishma were Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, and Shimei his son. 27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers did not have many children, (N)nor did any of their families multiply as much as the children of Judah.

28 They dwelt at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual, 29 [q]Bilhah, Ezem, [r]Tolad, 30 Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag, 31 Beth Marcaboth, [s]Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David. 32 And their villages were [t]Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan—five cities— 33 and all the villages that were around these cities as far as [u]Baal. These were their dwelling places, and they maintained their genealogy: 34 Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah; 35 Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel; 36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, and Benaiah; 37 Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah— 38 these mentioned by name were leaders in their families, and their father’s house increased greatly.

39 So they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks. 40 And they found rich, good pasture, and the land was broad, quiet, and peaceful; for some Hamites formerly lived there.

41 These recorded by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and they (O)attacked[v] their tents and the Meunites who were found there, and (P)utterly destroyed them, as it is to this day. So they dwelt in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks there. 42 Now some of them, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, having as their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi. 43 And they [w]defeated (Q)the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have dwelt there to this day.
