16 众人将上帝的约柜抬进去，安放在大卫所搭的帐篷里，然后在上帝面前献上燔祭和平安祭。 2 大卫献上燔祭和平安祭后，就奉耶和华的名给民众祝福， 3 又给以色列男女每人一个饼、一块肉和一个葡萄饼。
4 大卫指派一些利未人在耶和华的约柜前事奉，颂扬、称谢和赞美以色列的上帝耶和华。 5 为首的是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别·以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲钹。 6 比拿雅和雅哈悉两位祭司在上帝的约柜前吹号。

The Ark Placed in the Tabernacle(A)
16 So (B)they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 2 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, (C)he blessed the people in the name of the Lord. 3 Then he distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins.
4 And he appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to (D)commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord God of Israel: 5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then (E)Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom: Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals; 6 Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.
David’s Song of Thanksgiving(F)
7 On that day (G)David (H)first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:
8 (I)Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
10 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
13 O seed of Israel His servant,
You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the Lord our God;
His (J)judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,
16 The (K)covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac,
17 And (L)confirmed it to (M)Jacob for a statute,
To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the allotment of your inheritance,”

Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Declare His glory among the nations,

25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods (R)of the peoples are [a]idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.
28 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him.
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
30 Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The world also is firmly established,

37 So he left (Y)Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister before the ark regularly, as every day’s work (Z)required; 38 and (AA)Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight brethren, including Obed-Edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers; 39 and Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests, (AB)before the tabernacle of the Lord (AC)at the [b]high place that was at Gibeon, 40 to offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly (AD)morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel; 41 and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord, (AE)because His mercy endures forever; 42 and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.
43 (AF)Then all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.

16 وَأدخَلُوا صُنْدُوقَ اللهِ، وَوَضَعُوهُ دَاخِلَ الخَيْمَةِ الَّتِي نَصَبَهَا دَاوُدُ لَهُ. وَذَبَحُوا ذَبَائِحَ صَاعِدَةً وَتَقْدِمَاتِ سَلَامٍ فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ.
2 وَلَمَّا أكمَلَ دَاوُدُ تَقْدِيمَ الذَّبَائِحِ الصَّاعِدَةِ وَذَبَائِحِ السَّلَامِ، بَارَكَ الشَّعْبَ بِاسْمِ اللهِ. 3 وَوَزَّعَ عَلَى كُلِّ رَجُلٍ وَامْرَأةٍ مِنْ بَنِي إسْرَائِيلَ رَغِيفَ خُبْزٍ وَكَعْكَ تَمْرٍ وَكَعْكَ زَبِيبٍ. 4 وَعَيَّنَ بَعْضَ اللَّاوِيِّينَ لِيَخْدِمُوا كَخُدَّامٍ أمَامَ صُنْدُوقِ عَهْدِ اللهِ لِكَي يُذِيعَوُا، وَيَشْكُرُوا، وَيُسَبِّحُوا اللهَ، إلَهَ إسْرَائِيلَ.

مَزْمُورُ شُكْرٍ لِدَاوُد
7 وَفِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ نَظَمَ دَاوُدُ مَزْمُورَ شُكْرٍ للهِ عَزَفَهُ آسَافُ وَأقْرِبَاؤُهُ:
8 احْمَدُوا اللهَ، أذِيعُوا اسْمَهُ.
خَبِّرُوا الشُّعُوبَ بِمَا صَنَعَ.
9 غَنُّوا لَهُ.
رَنِّمُوا لَهُ.
وَفِي رَوَائِعِهِ تَأمَّلُوا.
10 تَبَاهَوْا بِاسْمِهِ القُدُّوسِ.
وَلْيَفْرَحِ الَّذِينَ يَطْلُبُونَ اللهَ.
11 اطْلُبُوا اللهَ وَقُوَّتَهُ،
اطْلُبُوا حُضُورَهُ دَائِمًا.
12 تَذَكَّرُوا الأُمُورَ العَظِيمَةَ الَّتِي أجْرَاهَا،
عَجَائِبَهُ وَأحْكَامَهُ الَّتِي نَطَقَ بِهَا.
13 يَا أبْنَاءَ خَادِمِهِ إسْرَائِيلَ،
يَا مُخْتَارِيهِ أبْنَاءَ يَعْقُوبَ.
14 يهوه هُوَ إلَهُنَا،
أحكَامُهُ فِي كُلِّ الأرْضِ.
15 إلَى الأبَدِ اذْكُرُوا عَهْدَهُ،
الكَلَامَ الَّذِي أوصَى بِهِ لِألْفِ جِيلٍ،
16 العَهْدَ الَّذِي قَطَعَهُ مَعَ إبْرَاهِيمَ،
وَوَعَدَ بِهِ إسْحَاقَ.
17 ثَبَّتَهُ مَعَ يَعْقُوبَ شَرِيعَةً،
وَمَعَ إسْرَائِيلَ عَهْدًا أبَدِيًّا.
18 فَقَالَ: «سَأُعْطِيكَ أرْضَ كَنْعَانَ،
فَتَكُونَ مِنْ نَصِيبِكَ.»
19 كَانُوا قَلِيلِينَ وَغُرَبَاءَ فِي الأرْضِ،
20 يَرْتَحِلُونَ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إلَى أُمَّةٍ،
وَمِنْ مَملَكَةٍ إلَى مَملَكَةٍ.
21 فَلَمْ يَسْمَحْ لِأحَدٍ بِأنْ يَظْلِمَهُمْ،
بَلْ حَذَّرَ المُلُوكَ مِنْ أجْلِهِمْ.
22 قَالَ لَهُمْ: «لَا تَمَسُّوا مَنْ مَسَحْتُهُمْ،
وَلَا تُؤْذُوا أنبِيَائِي!»
23 غَنُّوا للهِ يَا كُلَّ أهْلِ الأرْضِ،
حَدِّثُوا بِخَلَاصِهِ يَومًا بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ.
24 أخبِرُوا بِمَجْدِهِ بَيْنَ الشُّعُوبِ.
أخبِرُوا كُلَّ النَّاسِ بِعَجَائِبِهِ.
25 لِأنَّ اللهَ عَظِيمٌ وَمُسْتَحِقٌّ لِلتَّسبِيحِ!
هُوَ الأكثَرُ مَهَابَةً بَيْنَ جَمِيعِ الآلِهَةِ.
26 لِأنَّ كُلَّ آلِهَةِ الأُمَمِ تَمَاثِيلُ تَافِهَةٌ.
أمَّا اللهُ فَهُوَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ!
27 يُشِعُّ مَجدًا وَكَرَامَةً.
وَفِي بَيْتِهِ القُوَّةُ وَالِابْتِهَاجُ.
28 يَا شُعُوبَ الأرْضِ،
سَبِّحُوا اللهَ عَلَى مَجْدِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ.
29 مَجِّدُوا اللهَ لِأجْلِ اسْمِهِ.
هَاتُوا تَقْدِمَةً وَادْخُلُوا مَحْضَرَهُ.
اعْبُدُوا اللهَ فِي بَهَاءِ قَدَاسَتِهِ.
30 ارتَعِدُوا فِي حَضْرَتِهِ يَا جَمِيعَ سُكَّانِ الأرْضِ.
العَالَمُ ثَابِتٌ فِي مَكَانِهِ،
لَا تَقْدِرُ قُوَّةٌ أنْ تُزَحْزِحَهُ.
31 لِتَبْتَهِجِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَلْتَفْرَحِ الأرْضُ،
وَلْيُقَلْ بَيْنَ الأُمَمِ:
«اللهُ يَمْلُكُ.»
32 لِيَهْدِرِ البَحْرُ وَكُلُّ مَا يَملأُهُ،
لِيَبْتَهِجِ الحَقْلُ وَكُلُّ مَا فِيهِ.
33 حِينَئِذٍ، سَتُغَنِّي أشْجَارُ الغَابَةِ
بِفَرَحٍ فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ.
لِأنَّهُ يأتِي لِيَدِينَ الأرْضَ.
34 سبِّحُوا اللهَ، لِأنَّهُ صَالِحٌ،
لِأنَّ رَحْمَتَهُ إلَى الأبَدِ.
35 قُولُوا: «يَا إلَهَنَا المُخَلِّصَ أنْقِذْنَا،
رُدَّنَا وَأنْقِذْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ،
لِكَي نُقَدِّمَ الشُّكرَ لِاسْمِكَ القُدُّوسِ،
وَبِتَرَانِيمِ التَّسبِيحِ نُكرِمُكَ.»
36 مُبَارَكٌ اللهُ إلَهُ إسْرَائِيلَ،
مِنَ الأزَلِ إلَى الأبَدِ مُسْتَحِقٌ التَّسْبِيحَ.
وَقَالَ الشَّعْبُ كُلُّهُ: «آمِينَ!» وَسَبَّحُوا اللهَ.
37 وَتَرَكَ دَاوُدُ آسَافَ وَمُسَاعِدِيهِ هُنَاكَ أمَامَ صُنْدُوقِ عَهْدِ اللهِ لِيَخْدِمُوا أمَامَ الصُّنْدُوقِ دَائِمًا حَسَبَ المُتَطَلَّبَاتِ اليَوْمِيَّةِ. 38 وَبَقِيَ هُنَاكَ أيْضًا عُوبِيدُ آدُومُ وَأقْرِبَاؤُهُ الثَّمَانِيَةُ وَالسِّتُّونَ، وَعُوبِيدُ أدُومُ بْنُ يَدِيثُونَ وَحُوسَةَ، لِيَخْدِمُوا كَبَوَّابِينَ.
39 وَبَقِيَ أمَامَ خَيْمَةِ اجتِمَاعِ اللهِ فِي المُرْتَفَعِ فِي جِبْعُونَ الكَاهِنُ صَادُوقُ وَزُمَلَاؤُهُ الكَهَنَةُ. 40 وَكَانَ مَطلُوبًا مِنْهُمْ أنْ يُقَدِّمُوا تَقْدِمَاتٍ صَاعِدَةً كَامِلَةً للهِ صَبَاحًا وَمَسَاءً عَلَى مَذْبَحِ التَّقْدِمَاتِ الصَّاعِدَةِ، وَفْقَ كُلِّ مَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي شَرِيعَةِ اللهِ الَّتِي أمَرَ إسْرَائِيلَ بِاتِّبَاعِهَا. 41 وَبَقِيَ مَعَهُمْ هَيمَانُ، وَيَدُوثُونُ، وَبَقِيَّةُ المُختَارِينَ وَالمُعَيَّنِينَ بِالِاسْمِ لِتَقْدِيمِ التَّسبِيحِ للهِ: «لِأنَّ رَحْمَتَهُ إلَى الأبَدِ.»[a] 42 وَكَانَ مَعْهُمَا، أيْ مَعَ هَيمَانَ وَيَدُوثُونَ، أبْوَاقٌ وَصُنُوجٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْزِفُونَ عَلَيْهَا وَآلَاتٌ لِعَزْفِ تَرَانِيمَ للهِ. وَكَانَ أبْنَاءُ يَدُوثُونَ مَسْؤُولِينَ عَنِ البَوَّابَةِ.
43 ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ الشَّعْبُ كُلُّهُمْ إلَى بُيُوتِهِمْ. وَرَجِعَ دَاوُدُ لِيُبَارِكَ بَيْتَهُ.

De muziek voor de Heer
16 David had een tent neergezet voor de kist van God. En nadat ze de kist in de stad hadden binnengebracht, zetten ze hem in de tent. Daarna bracht David brand-offers en dank-offers aan de Heer. 2 Toen hij daarmee klaar was, zegende hij het volk namens de Heer. 3 Aan alle mannen en vrouwen gaf hij een broodkoek, een stuk goed vlees en een kruik wijn.
4 Hij wees Levieten aan die de Heer moesten dienen bij de kist van de Heer. Ze moesten de Heer, de God van Israël, met liederen eren en prijzen. 5 Asaf had de leiding. Zijn helper was Zecharja. Jeïël, Semiramot, Jehiël, Mattitja, Eliab, Benaja, Obed-Edom en Jeïël speelden op harpen en citers. Asaf sloeg de koperen deksels. 6 Op vaste tijdstippen bliezen de priesters Benaja en Jahaziël op trompetten bij de kist van het verbond van God.
7 Die dag gaf David aan Asaf en de andere Levieten de opdracht om voortaan de Heer te prijzen met het volgende lied:
8 Prijs de Heer, prijs Hem!
Vertel de volken over Hem.
9 Zing! Zing voor Hem!
Vertel van al zijn wonderen.
10 Wees blij over zijn heiligheid.
De mensen die van Hem houden, zullen blij zijn.
11 Ga naar de Heer en vraag Hem om zijn kracht.
Verlang er altijd naar om dicht bij Hem te zijn.
12 Denk aan de wonderen die Hij heeft gedaan.
Denk aan hoe Hij oordeelt over zijn vijanden.
13 Denk daaraan,
kinderen van Gods dienaar Israël,
kinderen van Jakob die door God uitgekozen is.
14 De Heer is onze God.
Hij spreekt recht over de hele aarde.
15 Hij zal Zich voor eeuwig houden aan zijn verbond,
het verbond dat Hij voor eeuwig heeft gesloten,
16 het verbond dat Hij sloot met Abraham,[a]
de eed, die Hij aan Izaäk heeft gezworen.
17 de belofte die Hij deed aan Jakob,
het eeuwige verbond dat Hij sloot met Israël
18 toen Hij zei: ''Ik zal jullie het land Kanaän geven.
Kanaän wordt jullie eigendom."
19 In het begin was het maar een klein volk,
een kleine groep vreemdelingen in dat land.
20 Ze trokken van volk naar volk,
van het ene koninkrijk naar het andere.
21 Maar Hij stond niet toe dat een ander volk hen kwaad deed.
Vijandige koningen strafte Hij.
22 Hij zei: "Raak mijn volk niet aan!
Doe mijn profeten geen kwaad!"
23 Zing allemaal voor de Heer en prijs zijn naam.
Vertel elke dag over zijn redding.
24 Vertel aan de volken van zijn macht.
Vertel alle landen van zijn wonderen.
25 Want de Heer is geweldig.
Hij is het waard dat we Hem prijzen.
Voor Hem moeten we veel meer ontzag hebben
dan voor alle andere goden.
26 Want de goden van de andere volken zijn maar afgoden.
Maar de Heer heeft de hemel gemaakt.
27 Hij is een indrukwekkend Koning.
Kracht en blijdschap zijn in zijn heiligdom.
28 Mensen van de aarde, gehoorzaam de Heer.
Erken zijn macht, want daar heeft Hij recht op.
29 Eer Hem en aanbid Hem.
Kom naar zijn heiligdom en breng Hem offers.
Buig voor de Heer als Hij in al zijn pracht verschijnt.
30 Heel de aarde, heb ontzag voor Hem!
Dankzij Hem staat de wereld stevig en vast.
31 Wees blij, hemel! Juich, aarde!
De volken zullen zeggen: 'De Heer is Koning!'
32 De zee met alles wat daarin leeft, zal bruisen.
Het veld en alles wat daarop is, zal huppelen van blijdschap.
33 De bossen zullen juichen voor de Heer.
Want Hij komt rechtspreken over de aarde.
34 Prijs de Heer, want Hij is goed.
Zijn liefde duurt voor eeuwig.
35 En zeg: 'Red ons, God, U bent onze Redder.
Breng ons terug naar ons land.
Red ons van de volken om ons heen.
Dan zullen wij U prijzen.'
Vol trots zullen we onze God prijzen.
36 Prijs de Heer, de God van Israël,
voor altijd en eeuwig.
En alle mensen riepen: "Amen! Zo is het!" en ze prezen de Heer.
De dienst in Jeruzalem en in Gibeon
37 Asaf en de Levieten uit zijn familie bleven in de tent. Daar dienden ze elke dag de Heer volgens de wetten die God had gegeven. 38 Ook Obed-Edom en de 68 mannen uit zijn familie bleven daar. Een andere Obed-Edom, de zoon van Jedutun, en Hosa werden poortwachters. 39 Maar de priester Zadok met de priesters uit zijn familie bleven dienst doen bij de tent van ontmoeting die nog steeds op de heuvel bij Gibeon stond.[b] 40 Elke dag brachten ze daar het ochtend-offer en het avond-offer voor de Heer. Ook deden ze alle andere dingen die de Heer in zijn wet aan Israël had bevolen. 41 Bij hen waren ook Heman en Jedutun. Samen met de anderen die daarvoor waren aangewezen, moesten ze de Heer prijzen met de woorden: "Prijs de Heer, want zijn liefde duurt voor eeuwig." 42 Heman en Jedutun hadden trompetten en koperen deksels en andere muziekinstrumenten voor de muzikanten. Daarmee werden de zangers begeleid. De zonen van Jedutun bewaakten de ingang.
43 Toen ging iedereen weer naar huis terug. Ook David ging terug naar huis, om zijn gezin te begroeten.

De offerdienst vond dus plaats op het altaar bij de (lege) tent van ontmoeting in Gibeon, terwijl de kist van het verbond, die daar hoorde te staan, in een gewone tent in Jeruzalem stond!
