大卫做以色列人的王
11 以色列人都聚集到希伯仑来见大卫，对他说：“我们是你的骨肉同胞。 2 从前，即使扫罗做王的时候，率领以色列人出征打仗的仍是你。你的上帝耶和华也曾应许让你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首领。” 3 以色列的长老都到希伯仑见大卫王，大卫与他们在耶和华面前立约，他们膏立大卫做以色列的王，这应验了耶和华借撒母耳所说的话。 4 大卫和以色列众人来到耶路撒冷，即耶布斯。那时耶布斯人住在那里。 5 耶布斯人对大卫说：“你攻不进来。”可是，大卫攻取了锡安的堡垒，即后来的大卫城。 6 大卫说：“谁先攻打耶布斯人，谁就做元帅。”洗鲁雅的儿子约押首先进攻，于是就做了元帅。 7 大卫占据了堡垒，因此那堡垒就叫大卫城。 8 大卫又从米罗开始，在四围修建城墙，其余的部分由约押修建。 9 大卫日渐强盛，因为万军之耶和华与他同在。
大卫的勇士
10 以下是大卫手下众勇士的统领，他们和以色列百姓竭力拥护大卫做王，正如耶和华对以色列的应许。 11 大卫的勇士有哈革摩尼人雅朔班，他是三勇士之首，曾在一次交战中挥矛刺死了三百人。 12 其次是亚合人朵多的儿子以利亚撒，他是三勇士之一。 13 他曾在巴斯·达闵与大卫一起抵抗非利士人。那里有一块大麦田，以色列人战败逃跑， 14 他们却坚守阵地，奋勇杀敌。耶和华使以色列人大获全胜。 15 一次，三十位勇士中有三位到亚杜兰洞附近的磐石那里见大卫，当时非利士的军队驻扎在利乏音谷。 16 那时大卫留守在堡垒里，非利士人的驻军在伯利恒。 17 大卫渴了，说：“真想有人打一些伯利恒城门旁的井水给我喝！” 18 那三位勇士就冲过非利士人的营地，到伯利恒城门旁的井打水，带回来给大卫。大卫却不肯喝，他把水浇奠在耶和华面前， 19 说：“我的上帝啊！这三人冒死去打水，这些水就像是他们的血，我决不能喝。”因此，大卫不肯喝。这是三勇士的事迹。
20 约押的兄弟亚比筛是这三个勇士的统领，他曾挥矛刺死三百人，在三勇士中出了名， 21 最有声望，因此做了他们的统领，只是不及前三位勇士。
22 甲薛人耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅是位勇士，做过非凡的事。他曾杀死摩押的两个勇猛战士，也曾在下雪天跳进坑中杀死一头狮子， 23 还曾杀死一个两米多高的埃及巨人。当时埃及人拿着织布机轴般粗的长矛，比拿雅只拿着棍子迎战，他夺了对方的长矛，用那矛刺死了对方。 24 这是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅的事迹，他在这三个勇士中出了名， 25 比那三十个勇士更有声望，只是不及前三位勇士。大卫派他做护卫长。

Proclamación de David como rey de Israel(A)
11 Todos los israelitas se reunieron con David en Hebrón y le dijeron: «Nosotros somos de tu misma sangre. 2 Ya desde antes, cuando Saúl era rey, tú dirigías a Israel en sus campañas. Además, el Señor tu Dios te dijo: “Tú guiarás a mi pueblo Israel y lo gobernarás”». 3 Así pues, todos los ancianos de Israel fueron a Hebrón para hablar con el rey, quien hizo allí un pacto con ellos en presencia del Señor. Después de eso, ungieron a David para que fuera rey sobre Israel, conforme a lo que el Señor había dicho por medio de Samuel.
David conquista Jerusalén(B)
4 David y todos los israelitas marcharon contra Jebús (que es Jerusalén), la cual estaba habitada por los jebuseos. 5 Estos le dijeron a David: «¡No entrarás aquí!» Pero David se apoderó de la fortaleza de Sión, que también se conoce como la Ciudad de David. 6 Y es que había prometido: «Al primero que mate a un jebuseo lo nombraré comandante en jefe».
El primero en matar a un jebuseo fue Joab hijo de Sarvia, por lo cual fue nombrado jefe. 7 David se estableció en la fortaleza, y por eso la llamaron «Ciudad de David». 8 Luego edificó la ciudad, desde el terraplén hasta sus alrededores, y Joab reparó el resto de la ciudad. 9 Y David se fortaleció más y más, porque el Señor Todopoderoso estaba con él.

10 Estos fueron los jefes del ejército de David, quienes lo apoyaron durante su reinado y se unieron a todos los israelitas para proclamarlo rey, conforme a lo que el Señor dijo acerca de Israel. 11 Esta es la lista de los soldados más valientes de David:
Yasobeán hijo de Jacmoní, que era el principal de los tres[a] más famosos, en una batalla mató con su lanza a trescientos hombres. 12 En segundo lugar estaba Eleazar hijo de Dodó el ajojita, que también era uno de los más famosos. 13 Estuvo con David en Pasdamín, donde los filisteos se habían reunido para la batalla. Allí había un campo sembrado de cebada y, cuando el ejército huía ante los filisteos, 14 los oficiales se plantaron en medio del campo y lo defendieron, matando a los filisteos. Así el Señor los salvó y les dio una gran victoria.
15 En otra ocasión, tres de los treinta más valientes fueron a la roca, hasta la cueva de Adulán, donde estaba David; y el ejército filisteo acampaba en el valle de Refayin. 16 David se encontraba en su fortaleza, y en ese tiempo había una guarnición filistea en Belén. 17 Como David tenía mucha sed, exclamó: «¡Ojalá pudiera yo beber agua del pozo que está a la entrada de Belén!» 18 Entonces los tres valientes se metieron en el campamento filisteo, sacaron agua del pozo de Belén, y se la llevaron a David. Pero David no quiso beberla, sino que derramó el agua en honor al Señor 19 y declaró solemnemente: «¡Que Dios me libre de beberla! ¿Cómo podría yo beber la sangre de quienes han puesto su vida en peligro? ¡Se jugaron la vida para traer el agua!» Y no quiso beberla.
Tales hazañas hicieron estos tres héroes.
20 Abisay, el hermano de Joab, estaba al mando de los tres y ganó fama entre ellos. En cierta ocasión, lanza en mano atacó y mató a trescientos hombres. 21 Se destacó mucho más que los tres valientes, y llegó a ser su jefe, pero no fue contado entre ellos.
22 Benaías hijo de Joyadá era un guerrero de Cabsel que realizó muchas hazañas. Derrotó a dos de los mejores hombres[b] de Moab, y en otra ocasión, cuando estaba nevando, se metió en una cisterna y mató un león. 23 También derrotó a un egipcio que medía como dos metros y medio,[c] y que empuñaba una lanza del tamaño de un rodillo de telar. Benaías, que no llevaba más que un palo, le arrebató la lanza y lo mató con ella. 24 Tales hazañas hizo Benaías hijo de Joyadá, y también él ganó fama como los tres valientes, 25 pero no fue contado entre ellos, aunque se destacó más que los treinta valientes. Además, David lo puso al mando de su guardia personal.
26 Los soldados más distinguidos eran:

11 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2 And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.
3 Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.
6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.
7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.
8 And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the Lord of hosts was with him.
10 These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.
13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14 And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the Lord saved them by a great deliverance.
15 Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!
18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the Lord.
19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.
20 And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.
21 Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.
25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
26 Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
32 Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,

34 The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,
