3 猶大王約沙法執政第十八年，亞哈的兒子約蘭在撒瑪利亞登基做以色列王，執政十二年。 2 他做耶和華視為惡的事，不過沒有他父母那麼敗壞，因為他除掉了他父親立的巴力神柱。 3 可是他沉溺於尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪惡，使以色列人陷入罪中。

3 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.
2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

يَهُورَامُ مَلِكُ إسْرَائِيل
3 وَصَارَ يَهُورَامُ بْنُ أخآبَ مَلِكًا عَلَى إسْرَائِيلَ فِي السَّامِرَةِ. كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي السَّنَةِ الثَّامِنَةَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ حُكْمِ يَهُوشَافَاطَ لِيَهُوذَا. وَحَكَمَ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً. 2 وَفَعَلَ الشَّرَّ أمَامَ اللهِ. لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَى الدَّرَجَةِ نَفْسِهَا مِنَ الشَّرِّ مِثْلَ أبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ. فَقَدْ أزَالَ التِّمثَالَ الَّذِي نَصَبَهُ أبُوهُ لِعِبَادَةِ البَعْلِ. 3 غَيْرَ أنَّهُ وَاصَلَ ارْتِكَابَ نَفْسِ خَطَايَا يَرُبْعَامَ بْنِ نَابَاطَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ بَنِي إسْرَائِيلَ يُخطِئُونَ. اسْتَمَرَّ بَذَلِكَ وَلَمْ يَتَوَقَّفْ.
