保罗在亚基帕面前
26 亚基帕对保罗说∶“你已获准为自己辩护。”保罗伸手，开始他的申辩∶ 2 “亚基帕王，今天我要在您的面前，为犹太人对我的所有控告进行申辩，我认为自己有幸。 3 尤其幸运的是，您对犹太人的习俗和争议很了解。因此，我请您耐心地听我说。
4 所有的犹太人都了解我的全部生活， 自我的幼年，从我当初在自己国家和耶路撒冷以来，他们都知道我的生活方式。 5 他们认识我很久了。如果他们愿意，他们能为我作证，他们知道我做为一个法利赛人生活，即我们宗教中最严格的分派的一员。 6 现在，我站在这里受审，是因为对上帝为我们的祖先们许下的诺言寄予盼望。那诺言就是当我们十二个部落日日夜夜热切地崇拜，盼望着领受到的。 7 啊，王啊，就是因为这个盼望，我才遭到犹太人的指控。 8 上帝让死人复活，在座的你们任何人为什么认为是不可思议的呢？
9 我自己以往也认为应该竭尽全力反对拿撒勒人耶稣的名字， 10 我在耶路撒冷就是这样做的。我曾把许多上帝的子民关进监狱，因为祭司长们给了我这么做的权力。他们被杀害时，我也赞成， 11 曾多次我在所有的会堂里经常强迫他们说亵渎的话来惩罚他们。我对他们极端的恼怒，以致于我到外邦去迫害他们。

12 有一次，我带着祭司长的授权和委任去大马士革。 13 大约中午时分，我正走在路上时，王啊，我看见一道比太阳还要明亮的光从天而降，照射在我和同行人的周围。 14 我们都跌倒在地上，并且，听到一个声音，用阿拉米语对我说∶‘扫罗，扫罗，你为什么要迫害我呢？你对抗我的刺棒是顽固的。’ 15 我问∶‘你是谁，先生？’主回答道∶‘我就是你所迫害的耶稣， 16 站起来吧。我在你面前显现，是要指派你做我的仆人，去见证你看见我的情形，以及我将要给你看到的事情。 17 我要把你从犹太人和外族人那里营救出来，我要派你到他们那里去， 18 打开他们的眼睛，让他们弃暗投明，从撒旦的力量转向上帝，从而使他们的罪孽得到宽恕，并且在因对我的信仰而得圣的那些人中获得一席之地。’
保罗谈他的工作
19 所以，亚基帕王，我没有违背来自天上的异象。 20 相反，我首先向大马士革的人们传道，然后向耶路撒冷、犹太各地的那些人们以及外族人传道，告诫人们悔改，归顺上帝，并做出与悔过相称的事情来。 21 就是因为这个原因，当我在大殿院时，犹太人把我抓了起来，并企图杀害我。 22 至今，我一直蒙受上帝的帮助，因此我站在这里，向各种不同的人，不论高低（社会地位）作见证。我正在说的也是先知们和摩西预言将要发生的事－ 23 就是基督将会受难，并且将会成为第一个从死里复活的人，向犹太人和外族人宣告光明。”

25 保罗答道∶“尊敬的非斯都大人，我没有疯，我所说的事都是真实的、合乎情理的。 26 在座的君王知道这些事，所以我可以大胆对他直言。我肯定这些事没有一件能够逃脱他的注意，因为这事不是在角落里做的。 27 亚基帕 [a]王，你相信先知们吗？我知道你相信。”
28 这时，亚基帕王对保罗说∶“‘’你以为这么容易就能说服我成为基督徒吗？”
29 保罗答道∶“对我来说，不论容易还是难都没关系。我向上帝祷告，不仅为你，也为今天所有听我讲话的人都能得救， 就向我一样，只是不要戴这些锁链。”
30 这时，国王站起身来，总督、百妮基，以及那些和他们坐在一起的人也跟着站了起来。 31 他们离开那房间后，便彼此议论道∶“这个人没有做过任何该判死刑或囚禁的事。” 32 亚基帕对非斯都说∶“这个人如果没有向凯撒上诉的话，就可以获释了。”

26 亞基帕對保羅說：「准你為自己辯護。」於是保羅伸手示意，然後為自己辯護說： 2 「亞基帕王啊，面對猶太人對我的種種控告，我今天很榮幸可以在你面前申辯， 3 尤其是你對猶太習俗和各種爭議都十分熟悉。因此，求你耐心聽我說。
4 「我從小在本族和耶路撒冷為人如何，猶太人都知道。 5 他們認識我很久了，如果他們肯作證的話，他們可以證明我從小就屬於猶太教中最嚴格的法利賽派。 6 現在我站在這裡受審，是因為我盼望上帝給我們祖先的應許。 7 我們十二支派日夜虔誠地事奉上帝，盼望這應許能夠實現。王啊！就是因為我有這樣的盼望，才被猶太人控告。 8 上帝叫死人復活，你們為什麼認為不可信呢？ 9 我自己也曾經認為應該盡一切可能反對拿撒勒人耶穌。 10 我在耶路撒冷就是這樣做的。我得到祭司長的授權，把許多聖徒[a]關進監獄。他們被判死刑，我也表示贊同。 11 我多次在各會堂懲罰他們，逼他們說褻瀆的話，我對他們深惡痛絕，甚至到國外的城鎮去追捕、迫害他們。

19 「亞基帕王啊！我沒有違背這從天上來的異象。 20 我先在大馬士革，然後到耶路撒冷、猶太全境和外族人當中勸人悔改歸向上帝，行事為人要與悔改的心相稱。 21 就因為這些事，猶太人在聖殿中抓住我，打算殺我。 22 然而，我靠著上帝的幫助，到今天還能站在這裡向所有尊卑老幼做見證。我講的不外乎眾先知和摩西說過要發生的事， 23 就是基督必須受害，並首先從死裡復活，將光明帶給猶太人和外族人。」
24 這時，非斯都打斷保羅的申辯，大聲說：「保羅，你瘋了！一定是你的學問太大，使你神經錯亂了！」
25 保羅說：「非斯都大人，我沒有瘋。我講的話真實、合理。 26 王瞭解這些事，所以我才敢在王面前直言。我相信這些事沒有一件瞞得過王，因為這些事並非暗地裡做的。 27 亞基帕王啊，你信先知嗎？我知道你信。」

29 保羅說：「不論話多話少，我求上帝不僅使你，也使今天在座的各位都能像我一樣，只是不要像我這樣帶著鎖鏈。」

26 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:
2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
3 Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
4 My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:
7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
30 And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
