9 掃羅繼續用兇狠的話恐嚇主的門徒。他去見大祭司， 2 要取得授權書到大馬士革的各會堂搜捕信耶穌的人，無論男女，都要把他們押回耶路撒冷。
3 當他快到大馬士革的時候，突然有一道光從天上射下來，四面照著他。 4 他倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為什麼迫害我？」 5 他說：「主啊，你是誰？」那聲音說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。 6 起來！進城去，有人會告訴你該做的事。」
7 同行的人站在那裡只聽見聲音，卻看不見人，嚇得張口結舌。 8 掃羅爬起來，睜大眼睛，卻什麼也看不見，同伴拉著他的手進了大馬士革。 9 一連三天，掃羅什麼也看不見，也不吃也不喝。
10 這時候，在大馬士革有個門徒名叫亞拿尼亞，他在異象中聽見主呼喚他的名字，就回答說：「主啊，我在這裡。」
11 主說：「起來，到直街的猶大家去見一個來自大數、名叫掃羅的人，他正在向我禱告。 12 我讓他在異象中看見一個名叫亞拿尼亞的人去他那裡，把手按在他身上，使他恢復視力。」

掃羅逃生
23 過了一段日子，猶太人圖謀殺死掃羅。 24 他們晝夜在城門守候，伺機下手，但這陰謀被掃羅知道了。 25 他的門徒趁夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋下去。
26 掃羅逃到耶路撒冷後，曾設法與當地的門徒聯絡，可是他們都怕他，不相信他是門徒。 27 只有巴拿巴接待他，帶他去見使徒，向他們陳述掃羅如何在路上遇見主，主如何對他說話，他又如何勇敢地在大馬士革奉耶穌的名傳道。 28 於是，掃羅就在耶路撒冷與使徒一起出入來往，奉主的名放膽傳道。 29 他常常跟那些講希臘話的猶太人辯論，於是他們打算殺掉他。 30 弟兄姊妹知道這消息後，就把掃羅帶到凱撒利亞，然後送他到大數去。
31 當時，猶太、加利利、撒瑪利亞各地的教會都很平安，得到了堅固。信徒們非常敬畏主，又得到聖靈的安慰，人數越來越多。
彼得醫治癱子
32 彼得四處奔波，來到呂大探訪那裡的信徒， 33 遇見一個已經臥床八年、名叫以尼雅的癱子。 34 彼得對他說：「以尼雅，耶穌基督已經醫好你了，起來收拾你的墊子吧！」他立刻應聲而起。 35 呂大和沙崙的居民看見他，都歸向了主。
彼得使死人復活
36 在約帕有個樂善好施的女信徒名叫戴碧達，希臘話叫多加，意思是「羚羊」。 37 當時，她患病死了。有人將她的屍體洗乾淨後，停放在樓上。 38 呂大和約帕相距不遠，門徒聽說彼得在呂大，就派兩個人趕去請他立刻來約帕。 39 彼得便隨他們一同到了那裡，有人領他上樓。眾寡婦都站在彼得周圍哭，並把多加生前縫制的內衣、外衣給他看。

Conversión de Saulo
9 Mientras tanto, Saulo pronunciaba amenazas en cada palabra y estaba ansioso por matar a los seguidores[a] del Señor. Así que acudió al sumo sacerdote. 2 Le pidió cartas dirigidas a las sinagogas de Damasco para solicitarles su cooperación en el arresto de los seguidores del Camino que se encontraran ahí. Su intención era llevarlos—a hombres y mujeres por igual—de regreso a Jerusalén encadenados.
3 Al acercarse a Damasco para cumplir esa misión, una luz del cielo de repente brilló alrededor de él. 4 Saulo cayó al suelo y oyó una voz que le decía:
—¡Saulo, Saulo! ¿Por qué me persigues?
5 —¿Quién eres, señor?—preguntó Saulo.
—Yo soy Jesús, ¡a quien tú persigues! —contestó la voz—. 6 Ahora levántate, entra en la ciudad y se te dirá lo que debes hacer.
7 Los hombres que estaban con Saulo se quedaron mudos, porque oían el sonido de una voz, ¡pero no veían a nadie! 8 Saulo se levantó del suelo, pero cuando abrió los ojos, estaba ciego. Entonces sus acompañantes lo llevaron de la mano hasta Damasco. 9 Permaneció allí, ciego, durante tres días sin comer ni beber.
10 Ahora bien, había un creyente[b] en Damasco llamado Ananías. El Señor le habló en una visión, lo llamó:
—¡Ananías!
—¡Sí, Señor!—respondió.
11 El Señor le dijo:

17 Así que Ananías fue y encontró a Saulo, puso sus manos sobre él y dijo: «Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, quien se te apareció en el camino, me ha enviado para que recobres la vista y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo». 18 Al instante, algo como escamas cayó de los ojos de Saulo y recobró la vista. Luego se levantó y fue bautizado. 19 Después comió algo y recuperó las fuerzas.
Saulo en Damasco y Jerusalén
Saulo se quedó unos días con los creyentes[e] en Damasco. 20 Y enseguida comenzó a predicar acerca de Jesús en las sinagogas, diciendo: «¡Él es verdaderamente el Hijo de Dios!».
21 Todos los que lo oían quedaban asombrados. «¿No es este el mismo hombre que causó tantos estragos entre los seguidores de Jesús en Jerusalén?—se preguntaban—. ¿Y no llegó aquí para arrestarlos y llevarlos encadenados ante los sacerdotes principales?».
22 La predicación de Saulo se hacía cada vez más poderosa, y los judíos de Damasco no podían refutar las pruebas de que Jesús de verdad era el Mesías. 23 Poco tiempo después, unos judíos conspiraron para matarlo. 24 Día y noche vigilaban la puerta de la ciudad para poder asesinarlo, pero a Saulo se le informó acerca del complot. 25 De modo que, durante la noche, algunos de los creyentes[f] lo bajaron en un canasto grande por una abertura que había en la muralla de la ciudad.

28 Así que Saulo se quedó con los apóstoles y los acompañó por toda Jerusalén, predicando con valor en el nombre del Señor. 29 Debatió con algunos judíos que hablaban griego, pero ellos trataron de matarlo. 30 Cuando los creyentes[g] se enteraron, lo llevaron a Cesarea y lo enviaron a Tarso, su ciudad natal.
31 La iglesia, entonces, tuvo paz por toda Judea, Galilea y Samaria; se fortalecía y los creyentes vivían en el temor del Señor. Y, con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo, también creció en número.
Pedro sana a Eneas y resucita a Dorcas
32 Mientras tanto, Pedro viajaba de un lugar a otro, y descendió a visitar a los creyentes de la ciudad de Lida. 33 Allí conoció a un hombre llamado Eneas, quien estaba paralizado y postrado en cama hacía ocho años. 34 Pedro le dijo: «Eneas, ¡Jesucristo te sana! ¡Levántate y enrolla tu camilla!». Al instante, fue sanado. 35 Entonces todos los habitantes de Lida y Sarón vieron a Eneas caminando, y se convirtieron al Señor.
36 Había una creyente en Jope que se llamaba Tabita (que en griego es Dorcas[h]). Ella siempre hacía buenas acciones a los demás y ayudaba a los pobres. 37 En esos días, se enfermó y murió. 39 Así que Pedro regresó con ellos y, tan pronto como llegó, lo llevaron al cuarto de la planta alta. El cuarto estaba lleno de viudas que lloraban y le mostraban a Pedro las túnicas y demás ropa que Dorcas les había hecho. 40 Pero Pedro les pidió a todos que salieran del cuarto; luego se arrodilló y oró. 9 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

Saulus ontmoet Jezus
9 Saulus bleef de leerlingen van Jezus fanatiek achtervolgen en dreigde hen met dood en gevangenis. Hij ging naar de hogepriester en 2 vroeg om aanbevelingsbrieven voor de synagogen in Damascus, een stad waar veel Joden woonden. Hij wilde daar mannen en vrouwen opsporen die in Jezus geloofden, hen in de boeien slaan en naar Jeruzalem brengen. Hij kreeg die brieven en ging op weg.
3 Toen hij in de buurt van Damascus kwam, flitste er plotseling een licht vanuit de hemel dat hem omstraalde. 4 Hij viel op de grond en hoorde een stem: ‘Saul, Saul, waarom vervolgt u Mij?’ 5 ‘Wie bent U, Here?’ vroeg Saulus. ‘Ik ben Jezus,’ zei de stem, ‘die u zo fanatiek vervolgt. 6 Sta op en ga de stad in. Daar zal u gezegd worden wat u moet doen.’
7 De mannen die met Saulus meereisden, waren met stomheid geslagen. Zij hadden de stem wel gehoord, maar niemand gezien. 8 Saulus stond op en deed zijn ogen open, maar kon niets zien. De mannen die bij hem waren, namen hem bij de hand en brachten hem Damascus binnen. 9 Drie dagen lang kon hij niet zien. Al die tijd at en dronk hij niets.
10 Een van de volgelingen van Jezus in die stad kreeg een visioen. In dat visioen riep de Here hem. ‘Ananias!’ ‘Ja, Here,’ antwoordde Ananias. 11 De Here zei: ‘Ga naar de Rechte Straat, naar het huis van Judas. Daar logeert een zekere Saulus uit Tarsus, hij is nu aan het bidden. 12 In een visioen heeft hij u zien binnenkomen. En in dat visioen legde u uw handen op hem, waardoor hij weer kon zien.’ 13 Ananias maakte bezwaren. ‘Maar, Here,’ zei hij. ‘Ik heb zoveel slechte dingen over die man gehoord. Hij heeft uw mensen in Jeruzalem veel kwaad gedaan. 14 Hij heeft van de leidende priesters zelfs toestemming gekregen om iedereen die uw naam aanroept hier in de boeien te slaan!’ 15 Maar de Here zei tegen hem: ‘Toch moet u gaan, Ananias! Ik heb besloten die man te gebruiken. Ik heb hem uitgekozen om Mij bekend te maken aan andere volken en hun koningen en ook aan het volk van Israël. 16 Ik zal hem duidelijk maken hoeveel leed hij voor Mij moet doorstaan.’
17 Ananias deed wat de Here hem had opgedragen en begaf zich naar het huis waar Saulus was. Hij legde zijn handen op hem en zei: ‘Saul, broeder, ik ben gestuurd door Jezus, die u onderweg hebt ontmoet. U zult weer kunnen zien en vol worden van de Heilige Geest.’ 18 Het was net of er een vlies van Saulusʼ ogen viel. Ineens kon hij weer zien. 19 Daarna liet hij zich dopen en ging wat eten om op krachten te komen. Saulus bleef een paar dagen bij de volgelingen van Jezus in Damascus en 20 ging zelfs naar de verschillende synagogen en vertelde daar openlijk dat Jezus Gods Zoon is. 21 Allen die hem hoorden, waren hoogst verbaasd. ‘Dit is toch de man die in Jeruzalem de aanhangers van Jezus heeft uitgeroeid? Hij kwam hier toch om mensen van dat geloof gevangen te nemen en naar de leidende priesters in Jeruzalem te brengen?’ 22 Maar Saulus sprak met steeds meer overtuiging en bracht de Joden in Damascus in verwarring door aan te tonen dat Jezus de Christus is.
23 Enkele dagen later besloten de Joodse leiders hem te doden. 24 Dag en nacht bewaakten zij de poorten van de stad om hem te vermoorden. Maar Saulus hoorde van hun plannen. 25 Toen het donker was, lieten zijn leerlingen hem vanaf de stadsmuur in een mand naar beneden zakken.
26 Toen Saulus in Jeruzalem aankwam, probeerde hij zich bij de andere leerlingen van Jezus aan te sluiten. Maar die waren allemaal bang voor hem, omdat zij niet konden geloven dat hij ook een leerling van Jezus was geworden. 27 Maar Barnabas nam het voor hem op en bracht hem bij de apostelen. Hij vertelde hun hoe Saulus op weg naar Damascus de Here had gezien en wat Hij tegen hem had gezegd. Barnabas vertelde ook dat Saulus in Damascus vrijmoedig over Jezus had gesproken.
28 Saulus werd in de groep opgenomen. Hij bewoog zich vrij in Jeruzalem en 29 sprak openlijk over Jezus. De Griekstalige Joden waren hem niet goedgezind. Na enkele verhitte gesprekken met hem, probeerden zij hem te doden. 30 Toen zijn vrienden dat hoorden, brachten zij Saulus naar Caesarea en stuurden hem vandaar naar Tarsus.
31 De volgelingen van Jezus in Judea, Galilea en Samaria hadden een tijd van rust en konden in vrede bij elkaar komen. Hun geloof werd sterker en zij gehoorzaamden de Here. De Heilige Geest bemoedigde hen en steeds meer mensen sloten zich bij hen aan.
32 Petrus nu maakte een rondreis langs alle plaatsen waar volgelingen van Jezus woonden en kwam ook in de stad Lydda. 33 Daar trof hij Eneas aan, een verlamde man die al acht jaar op bed had gelegen. 34 Petrus zei tegen hem: ‘Jezus Christus geneest u, Eneas. Kom uit uw bed en maak het zelf op.’ 35 De man stond onmiddellijk op. Toen de bewoners van Lydda en Saron hem gezond en wel zagen rondlopen, bekeerden zij zich ook tot de Here Jezus. 36 In de stad Joppe woonde een volgelinge van Jezus, die Tabitha heette. Tabitha is in het Grieks Dorkas en betekent Gazelle. Deze vrouw deed heel veel goeds, in het bijzonder voor de armen. 37 Zij werd in die tijd ziek en stierf. Nadat men haar gewassen had, werd zij in een kamer op de bovenverdieping gelegd. 38 De volgelingen van Jezus in die stad hadden gehoord dat Petrus in Lydda was, daar niet ver vandaan. Daarom stuurden zij twee mannen naar hem toe met de vraag of hij zo vlug mogelijk naar Joppe wilde komen. 39 Petrus maakte zich meteen klaar en ging met hen mee. Zodra hij bij het huis aankwam, werd hij naar boven gebracht. Alle weduwen in de kamer kwamen huilend om hem heen staan en lieten hem de onderkleden en mantels zien die Tabitha voor hen had gemaakt. 40 Maar Petrus stuurde iedereen de kamer uit, knielde neer en bad. Daarna zei hij tegen de dode vrouw: ‘Tabitha, sta op!’ Zij deed haar ogen open en toen ze Petrus zag, ging zij zitten. 41 Petrus nam haar bij de hand en hielp haar opstaan. Daarna riep hij de volgelingen van Jezus en de weduwen binnen en zei: ‘Kijk, zij leeft weer.’ 42 De hele stad hoorde ervan en velen gingen in de Here Jezus geloven.
43 Petrus bleef nog een tijd in Joppe en logeerde bij Simon, een leerlooier.
