10 救他脫離一切患難，並且使他在埃及王法老面前蒙恩寵、有智慧。法老就委任約瑟做宰相，統管埃及和法老全家。 11 後來整個埃及[a]和迦南地區遭遇了饑荒和大災難，我們的祖先找不到糧食。 12 雅各聽說埃及有糧食，就派我們的祖先去，這是第一次。

10 and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace.(A)
11 “Then a famine struck all Egypt and Canaan, bringing great suffering, and our ancestors could not find food.(B) 12 When Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our forefathers on their first visit.(C)
