聖靈降臨
2 五旬節那天，門徒聚集在一起。 2 忽然，天上發出一陣響聲，好像狂風呼嘯而過，充滿了他們所在的房子， 3 又有火焰般的舌頭顯現出來，分別落在各人的頭上。 4 大家都被聖靈充滿，得到聖靈所賜的才能，說起別的語言來。
5 當時耶路撒冷住著從各國回來的虔誠的猶太人。 6 眾人聽見這陣響聲便趕過來，聽見門徒在說他們各自的語言，都十分納悶， 7 驚詫地說：「看啊！這些說話的不都是加利利人嗎？ 8 怎麼會說我們各自的語言呢？ 9 我們這裡有帕提亞人、瑪代人、以攔人，以及住在美索不達米亞、猶太、加帕多迦、本都、亞細亞、 10 弗呂迦、旁非利亞、埃及和靠近古利奈的利比亞的人，還有從羅馬來的猶太人和改信猶太教的人、 11 克里特人和阿拉伯人。我們都聽見他們在用我們各自的語言訴說上帝的偉大！」 12 他們都大感驚奇和困惑，彼此議論說：「這到底是怎麼回事？」
13 有些人就譏笑說：「他們不過是被新酒灌醉了！」

14 彼得和其他十一位使徒都站起來，他大聲對眾人說：「各位猶太同胞和住在耶路撒冷的人啊，請留心聽！我告訴你們這是怎麼回事。 15 你們以為這些人是醉了，其實不是，因為現在才早上九點鐘。 16 你們眼前看見的正是先知約珥所說的，
17 『上帝說，在末後的日子，
我要將我的靈澆灌所有的人，
你們的兒女要說預言，
青年要見異象，
老人要做異夢。
18 那時，我要將我的靈澆灌我的奴僕和婢女，
他們都要說預言。
19 在天上，我要顯異兆；
在地上，我要行神蹟，有血、有火、有濃煙。
20 太陽要變得昏暗，
月亮要變得血紅。
這都要發生在主偉大榮耀的日子來臨以前。
21 那時，凡求告主名的，都必得救。』
22 「各位以色列人啊，請留心聽。上帝藉著拿撒勒人耶穌在你們中間行了異能、奇事和神蹟，以證明拿撒勒人耶穌是祂派來的。這是你們都知道的。 23 上帝照著自己的計劃和預知把耶穌交在你們手裡，你們藉著邪惡之人的手把祂釘死在十字架上了。 24 但上帝為祂解除了死亡的痛苦，使祂從死裡復活，因為祂不可能被死亡拘禁。 25 論到耶穌，大衛曾說，
『我看見主常在我面前，
祂在我右邊，我必不動搖。
26 因此我的心歡喜，我的口頌讚，
我的身體也要活在盼望中。
27 因為你不會把我的靈魂撇在陰間，
也不會讓你的聖者身體朽壞。
28 你已把生命之路指示我，
叫我在你面前充滿喜樂。』
29 「弟兄們，我肯定地對你們說，先祖大衛死了，埋葬了，他的墳墓至今還在這裡。 30 大衛是先知，知道上帝曾起誓要從他的後裔中選立一人繼承他的王位。 31 他預先知道這事，講到基督的復活，說，『祂的靈魂不會被撇在陰間，祂的身體也不會朽壞』。 32 上帝已經使這位耶穌復活了！我們都是這件事的見證人。 33 現在祂升到上帝的右邊，從天父領受了所應許的聖靈，並將聖靈澆灌下來，你們今天也耳聞目睹了。 34 大衛並沒有升到天上，但他曾說，
『主對我主說，
你坐在我的右邊，
35 等我使你的仇敵成為你的腳凳。』
36 「所以，全體以色列人啊！你們應當確實地知道，上帝已經立這位被你們釘在十字架上的耶穌為主，為基督了。」
37 他們聽了彼得的話，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其他使徒說：「弟兄們，我們該怎麼辦呢？」 38 彼得說：「你們每一個人都要悔改，奉耶穌基督的名受洗，使你們的罪得到赦免，你們就必領受上帝所賜的聖靈。 39 因為這應許是給你們和你們的兒女，以及遠方的人，就是所有被主——我們的上帝呼召的人。」
40 然後，彼得還講了許多話警戒、勸勉他們，說：「你們要保守自己脫離這邪惡的世代。」
41 結果，那天約有三千人相信了他傳的道，接受了洗禮。 42 他們都一心遵守使徒的教導，一起團契、掰餅、禱告。
43 大家都滿心敬畏上帝。使徒又行了很多神蹟奇事。 44 信徒聚在一起，共用所有的東西。 45 他們把田產家業變賣了，按照各人的需要把錢分給大家。 46 他們天天同心合意地聚集在聖殿裡敬拜上帝，又在各人家中擘餅聚會，以歡喜、慷慨的心分享食物， 47 讚美上帝，受到眾人的喜愛。主使得救的人數與日俱增。

2 Ðến ngày lễ Ngũ Tuần, các môn đồ đang họp nhau tại một chỗ. 2 Thình lình có tiếng từ trời xuống như tiếng gió thổi rất mạnh, ùa tràn vào căn nhà họ đang ngồi. 3 Họ thấy có gì giống như những lưỡi bằng lửa bay ra và đậu trên mỗi người. 4 Tất cả được đầy dẫy Ðức Thánh Linh và bắt đầu nói những ngôn ngữ khác, theo như Ðức Thánh Linh ban cho họ nói.
5 Lúc ấy tại Giê-ru-sa-lem đang có những người Do-thái tin kính từ mọi nước dưới trời. 6 Nghe tiếng ồn ào, họ kéo đến thành một đám đông và lấy làm lạ, vì mỗi người đều nghe các môn đồ nói tiếng bản xứ của họ. 7 Họ ngạc nhiên và sửng sốt nói với nhau, “Tất cả những người đang nói đó chẳng phải là người Ga-li-lê sao? 8 Thế sao mỗi chúng ta đều nghe họ nói tiếng bản xứ chúng ta? 9 Nào người Pạc-thi, người Mê-đi, người Ê-lam, và những người sống ở Mê-sô-pô-ta-mi-a, Giu-đê, Cáp-pa-đô-xi-a, Pôn-tơ, A-si-a, 10 Phi-ry-gi-a, Pam-phy-li-a, Ai-cập, và dân ở những vùng Li-by-a gần Sy-rê-nê, nào những khách hành hương đến từ Rô-ma, 11 gồm người Do-thái và những người ngoại quốc theo Do-thái Giáo, nào người Cơ-rết và người Ả-rập; chúng ta thảy đều nghe họ nói những việc quyền năng diệu kỳ của Ðức Chúa Trời trong ngôn ngữ chúng ta!”
12 Mọi người đều sửng sốt và hoang mang nói với nhau, “Việc này có nghĩa gì?” 13 Nhưng những người khác thì chế nhạo và nói, “Họ say rượu mới đó mà.”

14 Bấy giờ Phi-rơ đứng ra với mười một sứ đồ, cất tiếng và nói với họ,
“Thưa đồng bào Do-thái và mọi người đang ở Giê-ru-sa-lem, xin hãy biết rõ điều này và xin lắng tai nghe tôi nói: 15 Không phải những người này say rượu như anh chị em tưởng đâu, vì bây giờ mới chín giờ sáng,[a] 16 nhưng đây là những gì đấng Tiên Tri Giô-ên đã nói,
17 ‘Ðức Chúa Trời phán,
Trong những ngày cuối cùng,
Ta sẽ đổ Thần Ta trên mọi loài xác thịt.
Các con trai và các con gái các ngươi sẽ nói tiên tri;
Những người trẻ tuổi sẽ thấy các khải tượng;
Những người già cả sẽ mơ ước những ước mơ.[b]
18 Trong những ngày ấy,
Ta sẽ đổ Thần Ta trên các tôi trai và tớ gái của Ta;
Chúng sẽ nói tiên tri.
19 Ta sẽ ban những điềm lạ trên trời và những dấu kỳ dưới đất,
Ðó là máu, lửa, và những luồng khói.
20 Mặt trời sẽ trở nên tối tăm,
Mặt trăng sẽ đỏ như máu,
Trước ngày lớn và vinh hiển của Chúa đến.
21 Bấy giờ ai kêu cầu danh Chúa sẽ được cứu.’
22 Hỡi người I-sơ-ra-ên, xin lắng nghe những lời này: Ðức Chúa Jesus ở Na-xa-rét là Ðấng đã được Ðức Chúa Trời xác chứng với anh chị em bằng những việc quyền năng, phép lạ, và dấu kỳ; qua Ngài, Ðức Chúa Trời đã thực hiện những việc đó giữa anh chị em như chính anh chị em đã biết. 23 Theo kế hoạch đã vạch trước và theo sự biết trước của Ðức Chúa Trời, anh chị em đã nộp Ngài vào tay những kẻ không coi Luật Pháp ra gì[c] để đóng đinh Ngài trên cây thập tự, và giết đi. 24 Nhưng Ðức Chúa Trời đã làm cho Ngài sống lại, giải thoát Ngài khỏi những đau đớn của sự chết, vì sự chết không thể nào giữ Ngài lại. 25 Vì Vua Ða-vít đã nói về Ngài rằng,
‘Tôi hằng để Chúa ở trước mặt tôi;
Vì Ngài ở bên phải tôi, nên tôi chẳng bị rúng động.
26 Vì thế lòng tôi vui vẻ, lưỡi tôi mừng rỡ,
Và thân xác tôi cũng sẽ sống[d] trong hy vọng.
27 Vì Chúa sẽ chẳng bỏ linh hồn tôi luôn trong âm phủ;
Ngài sẽ không để cho Người Thánh của Ngài thấy sự rữa nát.
28 Chúa đã chỉ cho tôi con đường sự sống;
Ngài sẽ cho tôi đầy tràn niềm vui trước thánh nhan Ngài.’
29 Thưa anh chị em, tôi xin nói một cách quả quyết với anh chị em về tổ phụ Ða-vít của chúng ta rằng, vua đã chết và được chôn; mồ mả của vua vẫn còn ở giữa chúng ta cho đến ngày nay. 30 Nhưng vì vua là một vị tiên tri và biết rằng Ðức Chúa Trời đã lấy lời thề mà thề với vua rằng Ngài sẽ đặt một người trong dòng dõi của vua ngồi trên ngai của vua.
‘Ngài sẽ chẳng bị bỏ luôn trong âm phủ,
Và thân thể Ngài sẽ không thấy sự rữa nát.’
32 Ðức Chúa Jesus này đã được Ðức Chúa Trời làm cho sống lại, và tất cả chúng tôi đây là các nhân chứng cho việc ấy.
33 Vậy sau khi đã được cất lên ngự bên phải Ðức Chúa Trời và đã nhận lãnh Ðức Thánh Linh mà Ðức Chúa Cha đã hứa, Ngài tuôn đổ Ðức Thánh Linh ra như anh chị em đã thấy và nghe. 34 Vì Vua Ða-vít chưa từng lên trời, nhưng chính vua đã nói,
‘Chúa phán với Chúa của tôi,
“Con hãy ngồi bên phải Ta,
35 Cho đến khi Ta đặt những kẻ thù của Con làm bệ chân Con.”’
36 Vậy hỡi toàn thể nhà I-sơ-ra-ên, xin hãy biết một cách chắc chắn rằng: Ðức Chúa Jesus, Ðấng anh chị em đóng đinh trên cây thập tự, đã được Ðức Chúa Trời lập làm Chúa và Ðấng Christ.”[e]

37 Bấy giờ khi nghe như thế, họ cảm thấy đau nhói trong lòng; họ nói với Phi-rơ và các vị sứ đồ còn lại, “Thưa các anh em, chúng tôi phải làm gì?”
38 Phi-rơ nói với họ, “Hãy ăn năn. Mỗi người trong anh chị em phải chịu báp-têm trong danh Ðức Chúa Jesus Christ để được tha tội, và anh chị em sẽ nhận món quà là Ðức Thánh Linh. 39 Vì lời hứa ấy đã dành cho anh chị em, cho con cháu của anh chị em, và cho mọi người ở xa, tức mọi người mà Chúa, Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta, sẽ gọi.”
40 Phi-rơ còn dùng nhiều lời khác để làm chứng và kêu gọi họ rằng, “Anh chị em hãy cứu lấy mình khỏi thế hệ gian tà này.”
41 Vậy những người tin nhận lời ông đều chịu báp-têm, và hôm đó có khoảng ba ngàn linh hồn thêm vào số các môn đồ.

42 Những người ấy cứ chuyên tâm vâng giữ lời dạy của các sứ đồ, giao hảo thân tình với nhau, tham dự lễ bẻ bánh và các buổi nhóm cầu nguyện.
43 Bấy giờ mọi người có cảm giác sợ hãi; các sứ đồ đã làm nhiều việc diệu kỳ và phép lạ. 44 Khi ấy tất cả các tín hữu hiệp lại với nhau và lấy mọi vật làm của chung. 45 Họ bán đất đai và tài sản, rồi lấy tiền bán được chia cho mọi người, tùy theo nhu cầu của mỗi người. 46 Hằng ngày họ một lòng chăm chỉ đến đền thờ; còn tại các tư gia, họ cử hành lễ bẻ bánh và dùng bữa với nhau với lòng vui vẻ và chân thành. 47 Họ ca ngợi Ðức Chúa Trời và được lòng mọi người. Mỗi ngày Chúa thêm những người được cứu vào số người của họ.

2 1 The Apostles 4 filled with the holy Ghost 8 speak with divers tongues: 12 They are thought to be drunk, 15 but Peter disproveth that. 34 He teacheth that Christ is the Messiah: 37 And seeing the hearers astonied, 38 he exhorteth them to repentance.
1 And [a]when the day of Pentecost was [b]come, they were [c]all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing and mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they sat.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speak with [d]other tongues, as the [e]Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, men that feared God, of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised, the multitude came together and were astonied, because that every man heard them speak his own language.
7 And they wondered all, and marveled, saying among themselves, Behold, are not all these which speak, of Galilee?
8 [f]How then hear we every man our own language, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia, and of Judea, and of Cappadocia, of Pontus, and Asia,
10 And of Phrygia, and Pamphylia, of Egypt, and of the parts of Libya, which is beside Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, and [g]Jews, and Proselytes,
11 Cretes, and Arabians: we heard them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.
12 [h]They were all then amazed, and doubted, saying one to another, What may this be?
13 And others [i]mocked, and said, They are full of new wine.
14 ¶ But Peter standing with the eleven, [j]lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and ye all that inhabit Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken unto my words.
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, since it is but the [k]third hour of the day.
16 But this is that, which was spoken by the [l]Prophet (A)Joel,
17 [m]And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon [n]all [o]flesh, and your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on my servants, and on mine handmaids I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapors of smoke.
20 The Sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
21 [p]And it shall be, that whosoever shall [q]call on the Name of the Lord, shall be saved.
22 [r]Ye men of Israel, hear these words, JESUS of Nazareth, a man [s]approved of God among you with great works, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, I say, being delivered by the determinate counsel, and [t]foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked [u]hands you have crucified and [v]slain.
24 [w]Whom God hath raised up, and loosed the [x]sorrows of death, because it was impossible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David saith concerning him, (B)I beheld the Lord always before me: for he is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.
26 Therefore did mine heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad, and moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope,
27 Because thou wilt not [y]leave my soul in grave, neither wilt suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.
28 Thou hast [z]showed me the ways of life, and shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, I may boldly speak unto you of the Patriarch David, (C)that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher remaineth with us unto this day.
30 Therefore, seeing he was a Prophet, and knew that God had (D)[aa]sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would raise up Christ concerning the flesh, to set him upon his throne.
31 He knowing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that (E)his soul should not be left in grave, neither his flesh should see corruption.
32 [ab]This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Since then that he by the [ac]right hand of God hath been exalted, and hath received of his Father the promise of the holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this which ye now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into heaven, but he saith, (F)The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,
35 Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for a surety, that God hath [ad]made him both Lord, and Christ, this Jesus, I say, whom ye have crucified.
37 Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their hearts, and said unto Peter and the other Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 [ae]Then Peter said unto them, Amend your lives, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins: and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Ghost.
39 For the [af]promise is made unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 [ag]And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this [froward] generation.
41 [ah]Then they that gladly received his word, were baptized, and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand souls.
42 [ai]And they continued in the Apostles’ doctrine, and [aj]fellowship, and [ak]breaking of bread, and prayers.
43 ¶ [al]And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the Apostles.
44 [am]And all that believed, were in one place, and had all things common.
45 And they sold their possessions, and goods, and parted them to all men, as everyone had need.
46 [an]And they continued daily with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread at home, did eat their meat together with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and had favor with all the people: and the Lord added to the Church from day to day, such as should be saved.

- Acts 2:1 The Apostles being gathered together on a most solemn feast day in one place, that it might evidently appear to all the world, that they had all one office, one Spirit, one faith, are by a double sign from heaven authorized, and anointed with all the most excellent gifts of the holy Ghost and especially with an extraordinary and necessary gift of tongues.
- Acts 2:1 Word for word, was fulfilled: that is, was begun, as Luke 2:21. For the Hebrews say that a day, or a year is fulfilled or ended, when the former days or years are ended, and the other begun, Jer. 25:12. And it shall come to pass, that when seventy years are fulfilled, I will visit, etc. For the Lord did not bring home his people after the seventieth year was ended, but in the seventieth year. Now the day of Pentecost was the fiftieth day after the feast of the Passover.
- Acts 2:1 The twelve Apostles, which were to be the Patriarchs as it were of the Church.
