教会受迫害
8 当时，扫罗也赞成杀死司提凡。从那天起，耶路撒冷的教会开始遭到极大的迫害。除了使徒之外，门徒都分散到犹太和撒玛利亚各地。 2 有些虔诚人将司提凡埋葬了，为他大声痛哭。
3 扫罗却在摧毁教会，他挨家挨户搜寻，把男女信徒抓进监里。
腓利传扬福音
4 但那些逃往各地的信徒逃到哪里，就将福音传到哪里。 5 腓利来到撒玛利亚城宣讲基督。 6 城里的人耳闻目睹他所行的神迹，都聚精会神地听他讲道。 7 当时有许多人被污鬼附身，那些污鬼大声喊叫着被赶了出来。还有不少瘫子和瘸子也被医好了。 8 城里洋溢着欢乐的气氛。
术士归主
9 有个名叫西门的术士，向来妄自尊大，曾用邪术使撒玛利亚人惊奇不已。 10 无论贵贱，众人都听从他，称他为“上帝的大能者”。 11 他们听从他，因为他长期用邪术迷惑他们。 12 后来，他们相信了腓利传的有关上帝的国度和耶稣基督的福音，男男女女都接受了洗礼。 13 西门本人也信了基督，接受了洗礼，并常常追随腓利左右。腓利所行的神迹奇事令他非常惊奇。
14 耶路撒冷的使徒听说撒玛利亚人接受了上帝的道，就派彼得和约翰去那里。 15 二人到了，为那些信徒祷告，好让他们领受圣灵， 16 因为他们只是奉耶稣的名受了洗，圣灵还没有降在他们身上。 17 使徒把手按在他们身上，他们就领受了圣灵。

20 彼得责备他说：“你和你的钱都一同毁灭吧！因为你以为可以用钱买上帝的恩赐！ 21 你在上帝面前心术不正，休想在我们的事工上有份。 22 你要悔改，离弃邪恶，向主祷告，或许主会赦免你心中的邪念。 23 我看得出你正因为嫉妒而心里充满了苦涩，被罪恶捆绑。”
24 西门说：“请为我求求主，免得我遭受你们所说的刑罚。”
25 彼得和约翰为主做见证，传讲主的道。之后，他们启程回耶路撒冷，沿途又在撒玛利亚各村庄传扬福音。
太监归主
26 有一天，主的天使对腓利说：“起来，向南走，往耶路撒冷通往迦萨的路去。”那条路很荒凉。 27 腓利立刻动身，结果在那条路上遇见一个埃塞俄比亚的太监。他是埃塞俄比亚女王甘大基手下的重臣，负责管理国库。他刚从耶路撒冷参加敬拜回来， 28 正坐在车上诵读以赛亚先知的书。 29 圣灵吩咐腓利：“赶上去，贴近那辆马车！”
30 腓利跑上前，听见太监在诵读以赛亚先知的书，就问：“你明白所读的经文吗？”
31 他说：“没有人为我解释，我怎能明白呢？”他就请腓利上车和他一起坐。 32 他刚才念的那段经文是：
“祂默然不语，
像被人牵去宰杀的羔羊，
又如在剪毛人手下一声不吭的绵羊。
33 祂忍受耻辱，
无人为祂主持公道，
谁能明白那个世代呢？
因为祂的生命竟然被夺去。”
34 太监问腓利：“请问先知是在说谁？在说他自己还是在说别人？” 35 腓利就从这段经文入手向他传耶稣的福音。 36 他们往前走的时候，经过一处有水的地方，太监说：“你看，这里有水，我可以在这里接受洗礼吗？” 37 腓利说：“只要你全心相信，当然可以。”太监说：“我相信耶稣基督是上帝的儿子！”
38 于是，太监吩咐停车，二人一同下到水里，腓利为他施洗。 39 他们从水里上来时，主的灵把腓利带走了。太监看不见腓利了，就继续前行，满心欢喜。 40 后来，腓利出现在亚锁都。他走遍那里，在各城各乡传扬福音，直到凯撒利亚。

8 1-2 Saulo vio cómo mataban a Esteban, y le pareció muy bien.
Más tarde, unos hombres que amaban mucho al Señor recogieron el cuerpo de Esteban, lo enterraron, y durante varios días lloraron su muerte.
La iglesia empieza a sufrir
A partir de ese día, mucha gente comenzó a maltratar a los seguidores de Jesús que vivían en Jerusalén. Por eso todos tuvieron que separarse y huir a las regiones de Judea y de Samaria. Solamente los apóstoles se quedaron en Jerusalén.
3 Mientras tanto, Saulo seguía maltratando a los miembros de la iglesia. Entraba en las casas, sacaba por la fuerza a hombres y a mujeres, y los encerraba en la cárcel.
Felipe en Samaria
4 Sin embargo, los que habían huido de la ciudad de Jerusalén seguían anunciando las buenas noticias de salvación en los lugares por donde pasaban.
5 Felipe fue a la ciudad de Samaria, y allí se puso a hablar acerca de Jesús, el Mesías. Felipe era uno de los siete ayudantes de la iglesia. 6 Toda la gente se reunía para escucharlo con atención y para ver los milagros que hacía. 7 Muchos de los que fueron a verlo tenían espíritus impuros, pero Felipe los expulsaba, y los espíritus salían dando gritos. Además, muchos cojos y paralíticos volvían a caminar. 8 Y todos en la ciudad estaban muy alegres.
9 Desde hacía algún tiempo, un hombre llamado Simón andaba por ahí. Este Simón asombraba a la gente de Samaria con sus trucos de magia, y se hacía pasar por gente importante. 10 Ricos y pobres le prestaban atención, y decían: «Este hombre tiene lo que se llama el gran poder de Dios.»
11 Toda la gente prestaba mucha atención a los trucos mágicos que realizaba. 12 Pero llegó Felipe y les anunció las buenas noticias del reino de Dios. Les habló acerca de Jesús, el Mesías, y todos en Samaria le creyeron. Y así Felipe bautizó a muchos hombres y mujeres.
13 También Simón creyó en el mensaje de Felipe, y Felipe lo bautizó. Y Simón estaba tan asombrado de los milagros y las maravillas que Felipe hacía, que no se apartaba de él.
Pedro y Juan viajan a Samaria
14 Los apóstoles estaban en Jerusalén. En cuanto supieron que la gente de Samaria había aceptado el mensaje de Dios, mandaron allá a Pedro y a Juan. 15 Cuando éstos llegaron, oraron para que los nuevos seguidores recibieran el Espíritu Santo, 16 porque todavía no lo habían recibido. Y es que sólo habían sido bautizados en el nombre de Jesús. 17 Entonces Pedro y Juan pusieron sus manos sobre la cabeza de cada uno, y todos ellos recibieron el Espíritu Santo.
18 Al ver Simón que la gente recibía el Espíritu Santo cuando los apóstoles les ponían las manos sobre la cabeza, les ofreció dinero a los apóstoles y les dijo:
19 —Denme ese mismo poder que tienen ustedes. Así yo también podré darle el Espíritu Santo a quien le imponga las manos.
20 Pero Pedro le respondió:
—¡Vete al infierno con todo y tu dinero! ¡Lo que Dios da como regalo, no se compra con dinero! 21 Tú no tienes parte con nosotros, pues bien sabe Dios que tus intenciones no son buenas. 22-23 Claramente veo que tienes envidia, y que no puedes dejar de hacer lo malo. Tienes que dejar de hacerlo. Si le pides perdón a Dios por tus malas intenciones, tal vez te perdone.
24 Simón les suplicó:
—¡Por favor, pídanle a Dios que me perdone, para que no me vaya al infierno!
25 Antes de volver a Samaria, Pedro y Juan compartieron con la gente el mensaje del Señor. Después regresaron a la ciudad de Jerusalén, pero en el camino fueron anunciando a los samaritanos las buenas noticias del reino de Dios.
Felipe y un oficial etíope
26 Un ángel del Señor se le apareció a Felipe y le dijo: «Prepárate para cruzar el desierto, y dirígete al sur por el camino que va de la ciudad de Jerusalén a la ciudad de Gaza.»
27-28 Felipe obedeció. En el camino se encontró con un hombre muy importante, pues era oficial y tesorero de la reina de Etiopía. Ese oficial había ido a Jerusalén para adorar a Dios, y ahora volvía a su país.
El oficial iba sentado en su carruaje, leyendo el libro del profeta Isaías. 29 Entonces el Espíritu de Dios le dijo a Felipe: «Acércate al carruaje, y camina junto a él.»
30 Felipe corrió para alcanzar el carruaje. Cuando ya estuvo cerca, escuchó que el oficial leía el libro del profeta Isaías. Entonces le preguntó:
—¿Entiende usted lo que está leyendo?
31 Y el oficial de Etiopía le respondió:
—¿Y cómo voy a entenderlo, si no hay quien me lo explique?
Dicho esto, el oficial invitó a Felipe a que subiera a su carruaje y se sentara a su lado. 32-33 En ese momento el oficial leía el pasaje que dice:
«Fue llevado al matadero,
como se lleva a las ovejas
para cortarles la lana.
Como si fuera un cordero,
él ni siquiera abrió su boca.
Fue maltratado y humillado,
pero nunca se quejó.
»No lo trataron con justicia;
no llegó a tener hijos[a]
porque le quitaron la vida.»
34 El oficial le preguntó a Felipe:
—Dígame usted, por favor: ¿está hablando el profeta de él mismo, o de otra persona?
35 Entonces Felipe, partiendo de ese pasaje de Isaías, le explicó las buenas noticias acerca de Jesús. 36-37 En el camino pasaron por un lugar donde había agua. Entonces el oficial dijo: «¡Allí hay agua! ¿No podría usted bautizarme ahora?»[b]
38 Enseguida el oficial mandó parar el carruaje, bajó con Felipe al agua, y Felipe lo bautizó. 39 Pero cuando salieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor se llevó a Felipe; y aunque el oficial no volvió a verlo, siguió su viaje muy contento.
40 Más tarde, Felipe apareció en la ciudad de Azoto y se dirigió a la ciudad de Cesarea. Y en todos los pueblos por donde pasaba, anunciaba las buenas noticias acerca de Jesús.

La iglesia perseguida y dispersa
Aquel día se desató una gran persecución contra la iglesia en Jerusalén y todos, excepto los apóstoles, se dispersaron por las regiones de Judea y Samaria. 2 Unos hombres piadosos sepultaron a Esteban e hicieron gran duelo por él. 3 Saulo, por su parte, causaba estragos en la iglesia: entraba de casa en casa, arrastraba a hombres y mujeres y los encarcelaba.
Felipe en Samaria
4 Los que se habían dispersado predicaban la palabra por dondequiera que iban. 5 Felipe bajó a una ciudad de Samaria y les anunciaba al Cristo. 6 Al oír a Felipe y ver las señales que realizaba, mucha gente se reunía y todos prestaban atención a su mensaje. 7 De muchos endemoniados los espíritus malignos salían dando gritos, y un gran número de paralíticos y cojos quedaban sanos. 8 Y aquella ciudad se llenó de alegría.
Simón el hechicero
9 Ya desde antes había en esa ciudad un hombre llamado Simón que, jactándose de ser un gran personaje, practicaba la hechicería y asombraba a la gente de Samaria. 10 Todos, desde el más pequeño hasta el más grande, le prestaban atención y exclamaban: «¡Este hombre es al que llaman el Gran Poder de Dios!».
11 Lo seguían porque por mucho tiempo los había tenido deslumbrados con sus artes mágicas. 12 Pero cuando creyeron a Felipe, quien anunciaba las buenas noticias del reino de Dios y el nombre de Jesucristo, tanto hombres como mujeres se bautizaron. 13 Simón mismo creyó y, después de bautizarse, seguía a Felipe por todas partes, asombrado de los grandes milagros y señales que veía.
14 Cuando los apóstoles que estaban en Jerusalén se enteraron de que los samaritanos habían aceptado la palabra de Dios, les enviaron a Pedro y a Juan. 15 Estos, al llegar, oraron por ellos para que recibieran el Espíritu Santo, 16 porque el Espíritu aún no había descendido sobre ninguno de ellos; solamente habían sido bautizados en el nombre del Señor Jesús. 17 Entonces Pedro y Juan les impusieron las manos y ellos recibieron el Espíritu Santo.
18 Al ver Simón que mediante la imposición de las manos de los apóstoles se daba el Espíritu Santo, les ofreció dinero 19 y pidió:
—Denme también a mí ese poder, para que todos a quienes yo les imponga las manos reciban el Espíritu Santo.
20 —¡Que tu dinero perezca contigo —contestó Pedro—, porque intentaste comprar el don de Dios con dinero! 21 No tienes arte ni parte en este asunto, porque no eres íntegro delante de Dios. 22 Por eso, arrepiéntete de tu maldad y ruega al Señor. Tal vez te perdone el haber tenido esa mala intención. 23 Veo que vas camino a la amargura y a la esclavitud de la maldad.
24 —Rueguen al Señor por mí —respondió Simón—, para que no me suceda nada de lo que han dicho.
25 Después de testificar y proclamar la palabra del Señor, Pedro y Juan se pusieron en camino de vuelta a Jerusalén y de paso predicaron las buenas noticias en muchas poblaciones de los samaritanos.
Felipe y el etíope
26 Un ángel del Señor dijo a Felipe: «Ponte en marcha hacia el sur, por el camino del desierto que baja de Jerusalén a Gaza». 27 Felipe emprendió el viaje, y resulta que se encontró con un etíope eunuco, alto funcionario encargado de todo el tesoro de la Candace, reina de los etíopes. Este había ido a Jerusalén para adorar 28 y, de regreso a su país, iba sentado en su carro leyendo el libro del profeta Isaías. 29 El Espíritu dijo a Felipe: «Acércate y júntate a ese carro».
30 Felipe se acercó de prisa al carro y, al oír que el hombre leía al profeta Isaías, preguntó:
—¿Acaso entiende usted lo que está leyendo?
31 —¿Y cómo voy a entenderlo —contestó— si nadie me lo explica?
Así que invitó a Felipe a subir y sentarse con él. 32 El pasaje de la Escritura que estaba leyendo era el siguiente:
«Como cordero fue llevado al matadero,
como oveja que enmudece ante su trasquilador,
ni siquiera abrió su boca.
33 Lo humillaron y no le hicieron justicia.
¿Quién describirá su descendencia?
Porque su vida fue arrancada de la tierra».[a]
34 —Dígame usted, por favor, ¿de quién habla aquí el profeta, de sí mismo o de algún otro? —preguntó el eunuco a Felipe.
35 Entonces Felipe, comenzando con ese mismo pasaje de la Escritura, le anunció las buenas noticias acerca de Jesús. 36 Mientras iban por el camino, llegaron a un lugar donde había agua y el eunuco dijo:

The Church Persecuted and Scattered
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered(B) throughout Judea and Samaria.(C) 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. 3 But Saul(D) began to destroy the church.(E) Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.
Philip in Samaria
4 Those who had been scattered(F) preached the word wherever they went.(G) 5 Philip(H) went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many,(I) and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.(J) 8 So there was great joy in that city.
Simon the Sorcerer
9 Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery(K) in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great,(L) 10 and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.”(M) 11 They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery. 12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God(N) and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized,(O) both men and women. 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles(P) he saw.
14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria(Q) had accepted the word of God,(R) they sent Peter and John(S) to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit,(T) 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them;(U) they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.(V) 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them,(W) and they received the Holy Spirit.(X)
18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!(Y) 21 You have no part or share(Z) in this ministry, because your heart is not right(AA) before God. 22 Repent(AB) of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”
24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me(AC) so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
25 After they had further proclaimed the word of the Lord(AD) and testified about Jesus, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages.(AE)
Philip and the Ethiopian
26 Now an angel(AF) of the Lord said to Philip,(AG) “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a](AH) eunuch,(AI) an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship,(AJ) 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told(AK) Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”
30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
31 “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”[b](AL)
34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” 35 Then Philip began(AM) with that very passage of Scripture(AN) and told him the good news(AO) about Jesus.
36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”(AP) [37] [c] 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away,(AQ) and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns(AR) until he reached Caesarea.(AS)

8 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
