6 门徒不断增加的时候，讲希腊话的犹太人，埋怨本地的希伯来人，因为在日常的供给上，忽略了他们的寡妇。 2 于是十二使徒召集了众门徒，说：“要我们放下 神的道，去管理伙食，是不合适的。 3 所以弟兄们，应当从你们中间选出七个有好见证、满有圣灵和智慧的人，我们就派他们负责这事。 4 至于我们，我们要专心祈祷、传道。” 5 这个意见全会众都很满意，于是选出司提反，他是一位满有信心和圣灵的人，还有腓利、伯罗哥罗、尼加挪、提门、巴米拿，以及归信犹太教的安提阿人尼哥拉， 6 叫他们站在使徒面前。使徒祷告后，就为他们按手。 7 神的道传开了；在耶路撒冷，门徒人数大大增加，有很多祭司也信从了真道。
司提反被捕
8 司提反满有恩惠能力，在民间施行大奇事和神迹。 9 当时有几个称为“自由人”会堂的人，就是从古利奈和亚历山太来的人，另外还有基利家人和亚西亚人，他们出面与司提反辩论， 10 但司提反靠着圣灵和智慧说话，他们就抵挡不住。 11 于是他们唆使众人，说：“我们听过他说谤渎摩西和 神的话。” 12 又煽动民众、长老、经学家，这些人就来捉拿他，把他带到公议会， 13 并且造了假的证供说：“这人不断抨击圣地和律法。 14 我们听他说过：‘这拿撒勒人耶稣要毁坏这地方，改变摩西传给我们的规例。’” 15 当时，坐在公议会里的人，都注视他，见他的面貌像天使一样。

6 En ce temps-là, le nombre des disciples augmentant, les Hellénistes murmurèrent contre les Hébreux, parce que leurs veuves étaient négligées dans la distribution qui se faisait chaque jour.
2 Les douze convoquèrent la multitude des disciples, et dirent: Il n'est pas convenable que nous laissions la parole de Dieu pour servir aux tables.
3 C'est pourquoi, frères, choisissez parmi vous sept hommes, de qui l'on rende un bon témoignage, qui soient pleins d'Esprit Saint et de sagesse, et que nous chargerons de cet emploi.
4 Et nous, nous continuerons à nous appliquer à la prière et au ministère de la parole.
5 Cette proposition plut à toute l'assemblée. Ils élurent Étienne, homme plein de foi et d'Esprit Saint, Philippe, Prochore, Nicanor, Timon, Parménas, et Nicolas, prosélyte d'Antioche.
6 Ils les présentèrent aux apôtres, qui, après avoir prié, leur imposèrent les mains.
7 La parole de Dieu se répandait de plus en plus, le nombre des disciples augmentait beaucoup à Jérusalem, et une grande foule de sacrificateurs obéissaient à la foi.
8 Étienne, plein de grâce et de puissance, faisait des prodiges et de grands miracles parmi le peuple.
9 Quelques membres de la synagogue dite des Affranchis, de celle des Cyrénéens et de celle des Alexandrins, avec des Juifs de Cilicie et d'Asie, se mirent à discuter avec lui;
10 mais ils ne pouvaient résister à sa sagesse et à l'Esprit par lequel il parlait.
11 Alors ils subornèrent des hommes qui dirent: Nous l'avons entendu proférer des paroles blasphématoires contre Moïse et contre Dieu.
12 Ils émurent le peuple, les anciens et les scribes, et, se jetant sur lui, ils le saisirent, et l'emmenèrent au sanhédrin.
13 Ils produisirent de faux témoins, qui dirent: Cet homme ne cesse de proférer des paroles contre le lieu saint et contre la loi;
14 car nous l'avons entendu dire que Jésus, ce Nazaréen, détruira ce lieu, et changera les coutumes que Moïse nous a données.
15 Tous ceux qui siégeaient au sanhédrin ayant fixé les regards sur Étienne, son visage leur parut comme celui d'un ange.

6 In quei giorni, mentre aumentava il numero dei discepoli, sorse un malcontento fra gli ellenisti verso gli Ebrei, perché venivano trascurate le loro vedove nella distribuzione quotidiana. 2 Allora i Dodici convocarono il gruppo dei discepoli e dissero: «Non è giusto che noi trascuriamo la parola di Dio per il servizio delle mense. 3 Cercate dunque, fratelli, tra di voi sette uomini di buona reputazione, pieni di Spirito e di saggezza, ai quali affideremo quest'incarico. 4 Noi, invece, ci dedicheremo alla preghiera e al ministero della parola». 5 Piacque questa proposta a tutto il gruppo ed elessero Stefano, uomo pieno di fede e di Spirito Santo, Filippo, Pròcoro, Nicànore, Timòne, Parmenàs e Nicola, un proselito di Antiochia. 6 Li presentarono quindi agli apostoli i quali, dopo aver pregato, imposero loro le mani.
7 Intanto la parola di Dio si diffondeva e si moltiplicava grandemente il numero dei discepoli a Gerusalemme; anche un gran numero di sacerdoti aderiva alla fede.

8 Stefano intanto, pieno di grazia e di fortezza, faceva grandi prodigi e miracoli tra il popolo. 9 Sorsero allora alcuni della sinagoga detta dei «liberti» comprendente anche i Cirenei, gli Alessandrini e altri della Cilicia e dell'Asia, a disputare con Stefano, 10 ma non riuscivano a resistere alla sapienza ispirata con cui egli parlava. 11 Perciò sobillarono alcuni che dissero: «Lo abbiamo udito pronunziare espressioni blasfeme contro Mosè e contro Dio». 12 E così sollevarono il popolo, gli anziani e gli scribi, gli piombarono addosso, lo catturarono e lo trascinarono davanti al sinedrio. 13 Presentarono quindi dei falsi testimoni, che dissero: «Costui non cessa di proferire parole contro questo luogo sacro e contro la legge. 14 Lo abbiamo udito dichiarare che Gesù il Nazareno distruggerà questo luogo e sovvertirà i costumi tramandatici da Mosè».
15 E tutti quelli che sedevano nel sinedrio, fissando gli occhi su di lui, videro il suo volto come quello di un angelo.

6 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.
12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
