Pedro y Juan ante el concilio
4 Hablando ellos al pueblo, vinieron sobre ellos los sacerdotes con el jefe de la guardia del templo, y los saduceos, 2 resentidos de que enseñasen al pueblo, y anunciasen en Jesús la resurrección de entre los muertos. 3 Y les echaron mano, y los pusieron en la cárcel hasta el día siguiente, porque era ya tarde. 4 Pero muchos de los que habían oído la palabra, creyeron; y el número de los varones era como cinco mil.
5 Aconteció al día siguiente, que se reunieron en Jerusalén los gobernantes, los ancianos y los escribas, 6 y el sumo sacerdote Anás, y Caifás y Juan y Alejandro, y todos los que eran de la familia de los sumos sacerdotes; 7 y poniéndoles en medio, les preguntaron: ¿Con qué potestad, o en qué nombre, habéis hecho vosotros esto? 8 Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les dijo: Gobernantes del pueblo, y ancianos de Israel: 9 Puesto que hoy se nos interroga acerca del beneficio hecho a un hombre enfermo, de qué manera este haya sido sanado, 10 sea notorio a todos vosotros, y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, a quien vosotros crucificasteis y a quien Dios resucitó de los muertos, por él este hombre está en vuestra presencia sano. 11 Este Jesús es la piedra reprobada por vosotros los edificadores, la cual ha venido a ser cabeza del ángulo.(A) 12 Y en ningún otro hay salvación; porque no hay otro nombre bajo el cielo, dado a los hombres, en que podamos ser salvos.
13 Entonces viendo el denuedo de Pedro y de Juan, y sabiendo que eran hombres sin letras y del vulgo, se maravillaban; y les reconocían que habían estado con Jesús. 14 Y viendo al hombre que había sido sanado, que estaba en pie con ellos, no podían decir nada en contra. 15 Entonces les ordenaron que saliesen del concilio; y conferenciaban entre sí, 16 diciendo: ¿Qué haremos con estos hombres? Porque de cierto, señal manifiesta ha sido hecha por ellos, notoria a todos los que moran en Jerusalén, y no lo podemos negar. 17 Sin embargo, para que no se divulgue más entre el pueblo, amenacémosles para que no hablen de aquí en adelante a hombre alguno en este nombre. 18 Y llamándolos, les intimaron que en ninguna manera hablasen ni enseñasen en el nombre de Jesús. 19 Mas Pedro y Juan respondieron diciéndoles: Juzgad si es justo delante de Dios obedecer a vosotros antes que a Dios; 20 porque no podemos dejar de decir lo que hemos visto y oído. 21 Ellos entonces les amenazaron y les soltaron, no hallando ningún modo de castigarles, por causa del pueblo; porque todos glorificaban a Dios por lo que se había hecho, 22 ya que el hombre en quien se había hecho este milagro de sanidad, tenía más de cuarenta años.
Los creyentes piden confianza y valor
23 Y puestos en libertad, vinieron a los suyos y contaron todo lo que los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos les habían dicho. 24 Y ellos, habiéndolo oído, alzaron unánimes la voz a Dios, y dijeron: Soberano Señor, tú eres el Dios que hiciste el cielo y la tierra, el mar y todo lo que en ellos hay;(B) 25 que por boca de David tu siervo dijiste:
¿Por qué se amotinan las gentes,
Y los pueblos piensan cosas vanas?
26 Se reunieron los reyes de la tierra,
Y los príncipes se juntaron en uno
Contra el Señor, y contra su Cristo.(C)
27 Porque verdaderamente se unieron en esta ciudad contra tu santo Hijo Jesús, a quien ungiste, Herodes(D) y Poncio Pilato,(E) con los gentiles y el pueblo de Israel, 28 para hacer cuanto tu mano y tu consejo habían antes determinado que sucediera. 29 Y ahora, Señor, mira sus amenazas, y concede a tus siervos que con todo denuedo hablen tu palabra, 30 mientras extiendes tu mano para que se hagan sanidades y señales y prodigios mediante el nombre de tu santo Hijo Jesús. 31 Cuando hubieron orado, el lugar en que estaban congregados tembló; y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y hablaban con denuedo la palabra de Dios.
Todas las cosas en común
32 Y la multitud de los que habían creído era de un corazón y un alma; y ninguno decía ser suyo propio nada de lo que poseía, sino que tenían todas las cosas en común.(F) 33 Y con gran poder los apóstoles daban testimonio de la resurrección del Señor Jesús, y abundante gracia era sobre todos ellos. 34 Así que no había entre ellos ningún necesitado; porque todos los que poseían heredades o casas, las vendían, y traían el precio de lo vendido, 35 y lo ponían a los pies de los apóstoles; y se repartía a cada uno según su necesidad.(G) 36 Entonces José, a quien los apóstoles pusieron por sobrenombre Bernabé (que traducido es, Hijo de consolación), levita, natural de Chipre, 37 como tenía una heredad, la vendió y trajo el precio y lo puso a los pies de los apóstoles.

唯一的救主
4 彼得和約翰向百姓講道的時候，祭司、聖殿護衛長和撒都該人趕來了。 2 因為彼得和約翰宣講藉著耶穌死人可以復活，他們非常惱怒， 3 下令拘捕二人，因天色已晚，就把他們扣押了一夜。 4 但有許多聽道的人信了，男人的數目約有五千人。
5 第二天，官長、長老和律法教師都聚集在耶路撒冷， 6 大祭司亞那，以及該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大和大祭司的許多親族都在場。 7 他們令使徒站在當中，質問道：「你們憑什麼權柄、以誰的名義這樣做？」
8 那時彼得被聖靈充滿，對他們說：「各位百姓的官長和長老啊， 9 如果因為那殘疾的乞丐得到醫治這件善事，你們今天來查問我們他是如何痊癒的， 10 那麼，你們和所有以色列人都應當知道，他能健康地站在你們面前，全是靠拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名！你們把祂釘在十字架上，但上帝使祂從死裡復活了。
11 『祂是你們工匠丟棄的石頭，
已成了房角石。』
12 除祂以外，別無救主，因為普天之下沒有賜下別的名我們可以靠著得救！」
13 在場的人看到彼得和約翰的膽量，又知道他們原是沒有學問的平民百姓，都很驚奇。他們認出這些人跟隨過耶穌， 14 又見那被醫好的瘸子站在他們旁邊，便無話可說， 15 只好暫時把他們押下去，然後彼此商量說： 16 「我們該怎樣處置這兩個人呢？整個耶路撒冷的居民都知道他們行了一個神蹟，我們無法否認。 17 為了避免這件事傳得更廣，我們必須警告他們以後不許再對任何人傳講耶穌的事。」
18 於是，他們又把使徒傳來，嚴令他們不許再奉耶穌的名講論或傳道。 19 但彼得和約翰答道：「要我們聽從你們而不聽從上帝，這在上帝看來合理嗎？你們自己想想吧。 20 我們耳聞目睹的，不能不說！」 21 官長實在不知道如何懲治使徒，只好再三恐嚇之後把他們放了，因為百姓都為這個神蹟讚美上帝。 22 在這次神蹟中蒙上帝醫治的那個人已經四十多歲了。
同心禱告
23 彼得和約翰被釋放之後，就去找其他信徒，把祭司長和長老的話都告訴大家。 24 大家聽後，一同高聲向上帝禱告說：「主啊，你創造了天地、海洋和其中的萬物。 25 你藉著聖靈感動你的僕人——我們的祖先大衛說，
『列國為何咆哮？
萬民為何枉費心機？
26 世上的君王一同行動，官長聚集起來，
要抵擋主和祂所膏立的王。』
27 「果然如此，希律和本丟·彼拉多、外族人和以色列人都聚集在這城裡，要對抗你膏立的聖子[a]耶穌， 28 然而他們所做的只不過是你憑自己的能力和旨意所預定的。 29 主啊，你看他們這樣恐嚇我們，求你幫助你的奴僕們坦然無懼地傳你的道。 30 求你伸出手醫治疾病，藉著你聖子耶穌的名行神蹟奇事。」
31 禱告完後，聚會的地方震動起來，他們都被聖靈充滿，放膽傳揚上帝的道。
共用一切
32 當時所有信徒都同心合意，共用所有的東西，沒有人說他的財物只屬於自己。 33 使徒充滿能力，繼續為主耶穌復活的事做見證，上帝也賜下極大的恩典給眾人。 34 信徒都一無所缺，因為大家賣掉房屋田產，把所得的錢交給使徒， 35 照各人的需要分配給各人。
36 有個生在塞浦路斯的利未人名叫約瑟，使徒叫他巴拿巴，意思是勸慰者。 37 他賣掉自己的一塊田，把賣得的錢交給了使徒。

4 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin
4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard(A) and the Sadducees(B) came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.(C) 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail(D) until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew(E) to about five thousand.
5 The next day the rulers,(F) the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas,(G) John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit,(H) said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!(I) 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame(J) and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,(K) whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead,(L) that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”(N)
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John(O) and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men,(P) they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.(Q) 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin(R) and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?”(S) they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign,(T) and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.(U) 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him?(V) You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking(W) about what we have seen and heard.”(X)
21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people(Y) were praising God(Z) for what had happened. 22 For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
The Believers Pray
23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.(AA) “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.(AB) 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:(AC)
“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.[b]’[c](AD)
27 Indeed Herod(AE) and Pontius Pilate(AF) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(AG) whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.(AH) 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.(AI) 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders(AJ) through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”(AK)
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.(AL) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit(AM) and spoke the word of God(AN) boldly.(AO)
The Believers Share Their Possessions
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.(AP) 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify(AQ) to the resurrection(AR) of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace(AS) was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them,(AT) brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet,(AU) and it was distributed to anyone who had need.(AV)
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas(AW) (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.(AX)
