他们说∶“我们根本没听说有圣灵这回事。”
3 他又问∶“那么，你们受到的是什么样的洗礼呢？”
他们回答∶“是约翰的洗礼。”
4 保罗说∶“约翰告诉人们受洗是表示要改过自新。他告诉那些人们信仰在他之后来的那位，也就是耶稣。”

2 问他们说：“你们信的时候，受了圣灵没有？”他们说：“没有，连圣灵赐下来这件事，我们也没有听过。” 3 保罗问：“那么你们受的是甚么洗呢？”他们说：“是约翰的洗礼。” 4 保罗说：“约翰施的是悔改的洗礼，他告诉人民当信在他以后要来的那一位，就是耶稣。”

2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit(A) when[a] you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”
“John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism(B) was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”(C)
