²⁷We have therefore sent ^(A)Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. ²⁸For it has seemed good ^(B)to the Holy Spirit and ^(C)to us ^(D)to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: ²⁹^(E)that you abstain from ^(F)what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

²⁸For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

²⁹That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

²⁷Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas^(A) to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. ²⁸It seemed good to the Holy Spirit^(B) and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: ²⁹You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.^(C) You will do well to avoid these things.
