12 Cam în aceeaşi vreme, regele Irod[a] a pus mâna pe unii din biserică ca să-i chinuiască. 2 El l-a omorât cu sabia pe Iacov, fratele lui Ioan. 3 Când a văzut că lucrul acesta place iudeilor, l-a mai arestat şi pe Petru. Era în timpul Sărbătorii Azimelor. 4 După ce l-a arestat, l-a aruncat în închisoare, lăsându-l pe mâna a patru grupe[b] de câte patru soldaţi, ca să-l păzească. El intenţiona ca, după Paşte, să-l scoată afară, înaintea poporului. 5 În timp ce Petru era păzit în închisoare, biserica se ruga cu înflăcărare lui Dumnezeu pentru el.
Eliberarea miraculoasă a lui Petru
6 În noaptea de dinaintea zilei când Irod urma să-l scoată afară, înaintea poporului, Petru dormea între doi soldaţi, legat cu două lanţuri, iar nişte gărzi păzeau închisoarea, stând în faţa porţii. 7 Şi iată că un înger al Domnului a apărut deodată şi o lumină a strălucit în celula închisorii. El l-a trezit pe Petru, lovindu-l în coastă, şi i-a zis: „Ridică-te repede!“ Lanţurile i-au căzut de la mâini. 8 Apoi îngerul i-a zis: „Încinge-ţi mijlocul şi leagă-ţi sandalele!“ El a făcut întocmai. Îngerul i-a mai zis: „Înfăşoară-te în manta şi urmează-mă!“ 9 Petru l-a urmat şi a ieşit afară, dar nu ştia dacă este adevărat ceea ce făcea îngerul: i se părea că vede o viziune. 10 După ce au trecut de prima şi de a doua gardă, au ajuns la poarta de fier care dă în cetate, iar ea li s-a deschis de la sine. Au ieşit şi au luat-o pe o stradă; şi, deodată, îngerul a plecat de la el. 11 Când s-a dezmeticit, Petru şi-a zis: „Acum ştiu într-adevăr că Domnul Şi-a trimis îngerul şi m-a salvat din mâna lui Irod şi de la tot ce aştepta poporul iudeu să se întâmple!“ 12 Dându-şi bine seama de aceasta, s-a dus acasă la Maria, mama lui Ioan, numit şi Marcu, unde erau adunaţi mulţi oameni şi se rugau. 13 A bătut la uşa pridvorului şi o slujnică, pe nume Roda, a venit să deschidă. 14 Ea a recunoscut glasul lui Petru şi, de bucurie, în loc să deschidă uşa a alergat înăuntru şi a dat de ştire că Petru se află înaintea uşii. 15 Ei i-au zis: „Ţi-ai ieşit din minţi!“ Dar ea insista şi susţinea că este aşa cum spune ea. Ei însă ziceau: „Este îngerul lui!“[c] 16 Petru însă continua să bată, aşa că au deschis şi au rămas uluiţi când l-au văzut. 17 El le-a făcut semn cu mâna să tacă, le-a istorisit cum l-a scos Domnul din închisoare şi apoi a zis: „Spuneţi-le aceste lucruri lui Iacov[d] şi celorlalţi fraţi!“ După aceea a ieşit şi a plecat în alt loc.
18 Când s-a făcut ziuă, s-a stârnit o mare tulburare între gardieni cu privire la ceea ce se întâmplase cu Petru. 19 Irod l-a căutat şi, pentru că nu l-a găsit, a interogat gărzile şi a poruncit să fie executate. Apoi a plecat din Iudeea în Cezareea şi a rămas o vreme acolo.
Moartea lui Irod
20 Irod era foarte supărat pe cei din Tir şi Sidon. Dar aceştia au venit într-un singur gând la el şi, câştigându-l de partea lor pe Blastus, care era şambelanul[e] regelui, au cerut pace, pentru că ţara lor primea hrană din ţara regelui. 21 Într-o zi hotărâtă[f], Irod s-a îmbrăcat în haina regală, s-a aşezat pe scaunul de judecată şi a ţinut un discurs poporului. 22 Adunarea a strigat: „Acesta este glasul unui zeu, nu al unui om!“ 23 Imediat l-a lovit un înger al Domnului[g], pentru că nu dăduse slavă lui Dumnezeu, şi şi-a dat suflarea, fiind mâncat de viermi.
24 Însă Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu continua să înainteze şi să fie răspândit. 25 Barnabas şi Saul, după ce şi-au împlinit însărcinarea, s-au întors la[h] Ierusalim, luându-l cu ei pe Ioan, numit şi Marcu.

希律的下场
20 希律对泰尔和西顿的人非常恼火。于是，他们联合起来去见他，先取得宫廷总管伯拉斯都的支持，然后向他求和，因为他们两地需要从他的辖区获得粮食。

Peter’s Miraculous Escape From Prison
12 It was about this time that King Herod(A) arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. 2 He had James, the brother of John,(B) put to death with the sword.(C) 3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews,(D) he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.(E) 4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.(F)
5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.(G)
6 The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains,(H) and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7 Suddenly an angel(I) of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.(J)
8 Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. 9 Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision.(K) 10 They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself,(L) and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.
11 Then Peter came to himself(M) and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me(N) from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”
12 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark,(O) where many people had gathered and were praying.(P) 13 Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door.(Q) 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed(R) she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!”
15 “You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.”(S)
16 But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 Peter motioned with his hand(T) for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James(U) and the other brothers and sisters(V) about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.
18 In the morning, there was no small commotion among the soldiers as to what had become of Peter. 19 After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross-examined the guards and ordered that they be executed.(W)
Herod’s Death
Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea(X) and stayed there. 20 He had been quarreling with the people of Tyre and Sidon;(Y) they now joined together and sought an audience with him. After securing the support of Blastus, a trusted personal servant of the king, they asked for peace, because they depended on the king’s country for their food supply.(Z)
21 On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. 22 They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” 23 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel(AA) of the Lord struck him down,(AB) and he was eaten by worms and died.
24 But the word of God(AC) continued to spread and flourish.(AD)
Barnabas and Saul Sent Off
25 When Barnabas(AE) and Saul had finished their mission,(AF) they returned from[a] Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.(AG)
