哥尼流蒙主指示
10 在該撒利亞有一個人，名叫哥尼流，是意大利營的百夫長。 2 他是一個虔誠的人，他和全家都敬畏 神，對人民行過許多善事，常常向 神禱告。 3 有一天，大約下午三點鐘，他在異象中，清清楚楚看見 神的一位天使來到他那裡，對他說：“哥尼流！” 4 他定睛一看，害怕起來，說：“主啊，甚麼事？”天使說：“你的禱告和善行，已經達到 神面前，蒙他記念了。 5 現在你要派人到約帕去，請那個名叫彼得的西門來。 6 他在一個製皮工人西門的家裡作客，房子就在海邊。” 7 和他說話的天使走了之後，他就叫了兩個家僕和侍候他的一個虔誠的士兵來， 8 把一切事向他們講明，然後派他們到約帕去。

9 第二天，大約正午，他們走近那座城的時候，彼得上了房頂去禱告。 10 那家人正在預備飯的時候，彼得覺得餓了，很想吃飯。這時候他魂遊象外， 11 看見天開了，有一件東西，好像一塊大布，綁著四角，降在地上。 12 裡面有地上的各樣四足牲畜，還有昆蟲和天空的飛鳥。 13 有聲音對他說：“彼得，起來，宰了吃！” 14 彼得說：“主啊，千萬不可！我從來不吃俗物和不潔的東西。” 15 第二次又有聲音對他說：“ 神所潔淨的，你不可當作俗物。” 16 這樣一連三次，那件東西就立刻收回天上去了。 17 彼得猶豫不定，不明白所看見的異象是甚麼意思，恰好哥尼流派來的人，找到西門的家，站在門口， 18 大聲問：“有沒有一個名叫彼得的西門在這裡作客？” 19 彼得還在思量那異象，聖靈對他說：“你看，有三個人來找你！ 20 起來，下去吧，跟他們一起去，不要疑惑，因為是我差他們來的。” 21 於是彼得下樓到他們那裡，說：“看，我就是你們所要找的人。你們是為甚麼來的？” 22 他們說：“百夫長哥尼流是個義人，敬畏 神，全猶太族都稱讚他。他得到一位聖天使的指示，請你到他家裡，要聽你的話。” 23 彼得就請他們進去，留他們住下。
第二天，彼得動身跟他們一同去，另有約帕的幾位弟兄同行。 24 第三天，他們到了該撒利亞。哥尼流已經招聚了自己的親戚好友在恭候他們。 25 彼得一進去，哥尼流就迎接他，俯伏在他腳前叩拜。 26 彼得扶起他，說：“起來，我也是人。” 27 彼得和他說了話，就進去，看見許多人聚集在那裡， 28 就對他們說：“你們知道，猶太人本來是不准和外國人接近來往的，但 神已經指示了我，不可把任何人當作凡俗或不潔的。 29 所以我一被邀請，就毫不推辭地來了。現在請問：你們請我來是為甚麼事？” 30 哥尼流說：“四天以前下午三點鐘，我在家裡禱告的時候，忽然有一位身穿光明衣服的人，站在我面前， 31 說：‘哥尼流，你的禱告已蒙垂聽，你的善行在 神面前已蒙記念。 32 你要派人到約帕去，請那個名叫彼得的西門來。他在海邊一個製皮工人西門的家作客。’ 33 所以我立刻派人去請你，現在你來了，好極了！我們都在 神面前，要聽主吩咐你的一切話。”
彼得對哥尼流全家講道
34 彼得就開口說：“我實在看出 神是不偏待人的。 35 原來在各民族中，凡敬畏他而行義的，都蒙他悅納。 36 神藉著耶穌基督（他是萬有的主）傳和平的福音，把這道傳給以色列人。 37 你們知道：在約翰傳講洗禮之後，這道從加利利傳遍了猶太， 38 並且知道 神怎樣用聖靈和能力膏立拿撒勒人耶穌。他到各處行善事，醫好所有被魔鬼壓制的人，因為 神與他同在。 39 我們就是他在猶太人之地和耶路撒冷所行一切事的見證人；他們竟然把他掛在木頭上，殺了他。 40 神叫他第三天復活，並且使他顯現， 41 不是顯現給所有的人看，而是給 神預先揀選的見證人看，就是我們這些在他從死人中復活之後，與他一同吃喝的人。 42 他吩咐我們向人民傳講，鄭重證明他是 神所立，審判活人死人的主。 43 所有先知都為他作見證：所有信他的，都必藉著他的名，罪得赦免。”
外族人領受聖靈
44 彼得還在說話的時候，聖靈降在所有聽道的人身上， 45 那些受了割禮、跟彼得一同來的信徒，因為聖靈的恩賜（“恩賜”或譯：“恩賞”）也澆灌在外族人的身上，都很驚訝； 46 原來聽見他們講方言，尊 神為大。於是彼得說： 47 “這些人既然領受了聖靈，跟我們一樣，誰能禁止他們受水的洗禮呢？” 48 就吩咐他們奉耶穌基督的名受洗。後來，他們請彼得住了幾天。

10 ¶ Y había un varón en Cesarea llamado Cornelio, centurión de la compañía que se llamaba la Italiana,
2 pío y temeroso de Dios con toda su casa, y que hacía muchas limosnas al pueblo, y oraba a Dios siempre.
3 Este vio en visión manifiestamente, como a la hora novena del día, que un ángel de Dios entraba a él, y le decía: Cornelio.
4 Y él, puestos en él los ojos, espantado, dijo: ¿Qué es, Señor? Y le dijo: Tus oraciones y tus limosnas {lit. actos de misericordia} han sido estimadas en la presencia de Dios.
5 Envía pues ahora hombres a Jope, y haz venir a un Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro.
6 Este posa en casa de un Simón, curtidor, que tiene su casa junto al mar; él te dirá lo que te conviene hacer.
7 E ido el ángel que hablaba con Cornelio, llamó a dos de sus criados, y un soldado temeroso del Señor de los que le asistían;
8 a los cuales, después de habérselo contado todo, los envió a Jope.
9 ¶ Y al día siguiente, yendo ellos su camino, y llegando cerca de la ciudad, Pedro subió a la azotea a orar, cerca de la hora sexta;
10 y aconteció que le vino una gran hambre, y quiso comer; pero mientras disponían, cayó sobre él un rapto de entendimiento;
11 y vio el cielo abierto, y que descendía un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que atado de los cuatro cabos era bajado del cielo a la tierra;
12 En el cual había de todos los animales cuadrúpedos de la tierra, y bestias fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.
13 Y le vino una voz: Levántate, Pedro, mata y come.
14 Entonces Pedro dijo: Señor, no; porque ninguna cosa común e inmunda he comido jamás.
15 Y volvió la voz hacia él la segunda vez: Lo que Dios limpió, no lo ensucies.
16 Y esto fue hecho por tres veces; y el vaso volvió a ser recogido en el cielo.
17 Y estando Pedro dudando dentro de sí qué sería la visión que había visto, he aquí, los hombres que habían sido enviados por Cornelio, que, preguntando por la casa de Simón, llegaron a la puerta.
18 Y llamando, preguntaron si un Simón que tenía por sobrenombre Pedro, posaba allí.
19 ¶ Y estando Pedro pensando en la visión, le dijo el Espíritu Santo: He aquí, tres hombres te buscan.
20 Levántate, pues, y desciende, y no dudes de ir con ellos; porque yo los he enviado.
21 Entonces Pedro, descendiendo a los hombres que eran enviados por Cornelio, dijo: He aquí, yo soy el que buscáis; ¿cuál es la causa por la que habéis venido?
22 Y ellos dijeron: Cornelio, el centurión, varón justo y temeroso de Dios, y que tiene testimonio de toda la nación de los judíos, ha recibido respuesta por un santo ángel, de hacerte venir a su casa, y oír de ti palabras.
23 Entonces metiéndolos dentro, los hospedó. Y al día siguiente, levantándose, se fue con ellos; y le acompañaron algunos de los hermanos de Jope.
24 Y al otro día entraron en Cesarea. Y Cornelio los estaba esperando, habiendo llamado a sus parientes y los amigos más familiares.
25 Y cuando Pedro entró, salió Cornelio a recibirle; y derribándose a sus pies, adoró.
26 Y Pedro le levantó, diciendo: Levántate; yo mismo también soy hombre.
27 Y hablando con él, entró, y halló a muchos que se habían juntado.
28 Y les dijo: Vosotros sabéis que es abominable a un varón judío juntarse o llegarse a extranjero; mas me ha mostrado Dios que a ningún hombre llame común o inmundo;
29 por lo cual, llamado, he venido sin dudar. Así que pregunto: ¿por qué causa me habéis hecho venir?
30 Entonces Cornelio dijo: Hace cuatro días hasta esta hora yo estaba en ayuno; y a la hora novena mientras oraba en mi casa, he aquí un varón se puso delante de mí en vestido resplandeciente.
31 Y dijo: Cornelio, tu oración es oída, y tus limosnas han venido en memoria en la presencia de Dios.
32 Envía pues a Jope, y haz venir a un Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro; éste posa en casa de Simón, un curtidor, junto al mar; (el cual venido, te hablará).
33 Así que, luego envié a ti; y tú has hecho bien en venir. Ahora pues, todos nosotros estamos aquí en la presencia de Dios, para oír todo lo que Dios te ha mandado.
34 ¶ Entonces Pedro, abriendo su boca, dijo: En verdad hallo que Dios no hace acepción de personas;
35 sino que en cualquier nación el que le teme y obra justicia, es acepto a él.
36 Dios envió Palabra a los hijos de Israel, anunciando el evangelio por Jesús, el Cristo; (éste es el Señor de todos).
37 Vosotros sabéis de la palabra que ha sido hecha por toda Judea; que comenzando desde Galilea, después del bautismo que Juan predicó;
38 a Jesús de Nazaret; cómo le ungió Dios del Espíritu Santo y de potencia; que anduvo haciendo bienes, y sanando a todos los oprimidos del diablo; porque Dios era con él.
39 Y nosotros somos testigos de todas las cosas que hizo en la tierra de Judea, y en Jerusalén; al cual mataron colgándole en un madero.
40 A éste Dios lo levantó al tercer día, y dio que fuera hecho manifiesto,
41 no a todo el pueblo, sino a testigos que Dios antes había ordenado, es a saber, a nosotros que comimos y bebimos juntamente con él, después que resucitó de los muertos.
42 Y nos mandó que predicásemos al pueblo, y testificásemos que él es el que Dios ha puesto por Juez de vivos y muertos.
43 A éste dan testimonio todos los profetas, de que todos los que en él creyeren, recibirán perdón de pecados por su Nombre.
44 ¶ Estando aún hablando Pedro estas palabras, el Espíritu Santo cayó sobre todos los que oían la palabra.
45 Y se espantaron los fieles que eran de la circuncisión, que habían venido con Pedro, de que también sobre los gentiles se derramara el don del Espíritu Santo.
46 Porque los oían que hablaban en lenguas, y que magnificaban a Dios.
47 Entonces Pedro respondió: ¿Puede alguno impedir el agua, para que no sean bautizados éstos que han recibido el Espíritu Santo también como nosotros?
48 Y les mandó bautizar en el Nombre del Señor Jesús. Y le rogaron que se quedara por algunos días.

10 There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a Roman army officer in what was called the Italian Regiment. 2 He was a devout man, a “God-fearer,” as was his whole household; he gave generously to help the Jewish poor and prayed regularly to God. 3 One afternoon around three o’clock he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” 4 Cornelius stared at the angel, terrified. “What is it, sir?” he asked. “Your prayers,” replied the angel, “and your acts of charity have gone up into God’s presence, so that he has you on his mind. 5 Now send some men to Yafo to bring back a man named Shim‘on, also called Kefa. 6 He’s staying with Shim‘on the leather-tanner, who has a house by the sea.” 7 As the angel that had spoken to him went away, Cornelius called two of his household slaves and one of his military aides, who was a godly man; 8 he explained everything to them and sent them to Yafo.
9 The next day about noon, while they were still on their way and approaching the city, Kefa went up onto the roof of the house to pray. 10 He began to feel hungry and wanted something to eat; but while they were preparing the meal, he fell into a trance 11 in which he saw heaven opened, and something that looked like a large sheet being lowered to the ground by its four corners. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals, crawling creatures and wild birds. 13 Then a voice came to him, “Get up, Kefa, slaughter and eat!” 14 But Kefa said, “No, sir! Absolutely not! I have never eaten food that was unclean or treif.” 15 The voice spoke to him a second time: “Stop treating as unclean what God has made clean.” 16 This happened three times, and then the sheet was immediately taken back up into heaven.
17 Kefa was still puzzling over the meaning of the vision he had seen, when the men Cornelius had sent, having inquired for Shim‘on’s house, stood at the gate 18 and called out to ask if the Shim‘on known as Kefa was staying there. 19 While Kefa’s mind was still on the vision, the Spirit said, “Three men are looking for you. 20 Get up, go downstairs, and have no misgivings about going with them, because I myself have sent them.”
21 So Kefa went down and said to the men, “You were looking for me? Here I am. What brings you here?” 22 They answered, “Cornelius. He’s a Roman army officer, an upright man and a God-fearer, a man highly regarded by the whole Jewish nation; and he was told by a holy angel to have you come to his house and listen to what you have to say.” 23 So Kefa invited them to be his guests.
The next day, he got up and went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Yafo; 24 and he arrived at Caesarea the day after that. Cornelius was expecting them — he had already called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Kefa entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell prostrate at his feet. 26 But Kefa pulled him to his feet and said, “Stand up! I myself am just a man.”
27 As he talked with him, Kefa went inside and found many people gathered. 28 He said to them, “You are well aware that for a man who is a Jew to have close association with someone who belongs to another people, or to come and visit him, is something that just isn’t done. But God has shown me not to call any person common or unclean; 29 so when I was summoned, I came without raising any questions. Tell me, then, why did you send for me?”
30 Cornelius answered, “Three days ago around this time, I was at minchah prayers in my house, when suddenly a man in shining clothes stood in front of me 31 and said, ‘God has heard your prayer and remembered your acts of charity. 32 Now send to Yafo and ask for Shim‘on, known as Kefa; he is staying in the house of Shim‘on, a leather-tanner, by the sea.’ 33 So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now all of us are here in the presence of God to hear everything the Lord has ordered you to say.”
34 Then Kefa addressed them: “I now understand that God does not play favorites, 35 but that whoever fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him, no matter what people he belongs to.
36 “Here is the message that he sent to the sons of Isra’el announcing shalom through Yeshua the Messiah, who is Lord of everything. 37 You know what has been going on throughout Y’hudah, starting from the Galil after the immersion that Yochanan proclaimed; 38 how God anointed Yeshua from Natzeret with the Ruach HaKodesh and with power; how Yeshua went about doing good and healing all the people oppressed by the Adversary, because God was with him.
39 “As for us, we are witnesses of everything he did, both in the Judean countryside and in Yerushalayim. They did away with him by hanging him on a stake;[a] 40 but God raised him up on the third day and let him be seen, 41 not by all the people, but by witnesses God had previously chosen, that is, by us, who ate and drank with him after he had risen again from the dead.
42 “Then he commanded us to proclaim and attest to the Jewish people that this man has been appointed by God to judge the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets bear witness to him, that everyone who puts his trust in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
44 Kefa was still saying these things when the Ruach HaKodesh fell on all who were hearing the message. 45 All the believers from the Circumcision faction who had accompanied Kefa were amazed that the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh was also being poured out 46 on the Goyim, for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Kefa’s response was, 47 “Is anyone prepared to prohibit these people from being immersed in water? After all, they have received the Ruach HaKodesh, just as we did.” 48 And he ordered that they be immersed in the name of Yeshua the Messiah. Then they asked Kefa to stay on with them for a few days.
