6 他們中間有猶大人但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利和亞撒利雅。 7 太監長給他們另外起名，稱但以理為伯提沙撒，稱哈拿尼雅為沙得拉，稱米沙利為米煞，稱亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。
8 但以理卻立志，不以王的膳和王所飲的酒玷污自己，於是懇求太監長容他不使自己玷污。

6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel,(A) Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.(B) 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar;(C) to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.(D)
8 But Daniel resolved not to defile(E) himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
