11 当将你的粮食撒在水面，因为日久必能得着。 2 你要分给七人或分给八人，因为你不知道将来有什么灾祸临到地上。 3 云若满了雨，就必倾倒在地上；树若向南倒或向北倒，树倒在何处，就存在何处。 4 看风的必不撒种，望云的必不收割。 5 风从何道来，骨头在怀孕妇人的胎中如何长成，你尚且不得知道，这样，行万事之神的作为，你更不得知道。 6 早晨要撒你的种，晚上也不要歇你的手，因为你不知道那一样发旺，或是早撒的，或是晚撒的，或是两样都好。 7 光本是佳美的，眼见日光也是可悦的。 8 人活多年，就当快乐多年。然而也当想到黑暗的日子，因为这日子必多，所要来的都是虚空。
幼时当知神必鞫诸事
9 少年人哪，你在幼年时当快乐，在幼年的日子使你的心欢畅。行你心所愿行的，看你眼所爱看的，却要知道，为这一切的事神必审问你。 10 所以你当从心中除掉愁烦，从肉体克去邪恶，因为一生的开端和幼年之时，都是虚空的。

11 当慷慨施舍[a]，
因为日后必有收获。
2 当把你的资财分给多人，
因为你不知道日后会有什么灾难临到世上。
3 云中满了水，就会下雨。
树不论倒向南或倒向北，
倒在哪里就躺在哪里。
4 你若等待完美的天气，
必无法撒种，无法收割。
5 正如你不知道风的路线，不知道骨骼在母胎中如何形成，你也无法了解创造万物之上帝的作为。 6 你要早晚不停地撒种，因为你不知道什么时候撒的种子会发芽生长，或许所撒的都会带来收获。 7 光真美好，能够看见阳光真好！ 8 人一生不论活多久，都要活得快乐，但不要忘记死后有许多黑暗的日子。将来的一切都是虚空。 9 年轻人啊，在年轻时要快乐，要在青春岁月里使自己的心欢畅。心里想做什么就去做，眼睛想看什么就去看。然而，要切记：上帝必照你所行的一切审判你。 10 所以，你要抛开心中的烦恼和肉体的痛苦，因为青春年华转瞬即逝。

11 Lanza tu pan sobre el agua;
después de algún tiempo volverás a encontrarlo.
2 Comparte lo que tienes entre siete,
y aun entre ocho,
pues no sabes qué calamidad
pueda venir sobre la tierra.
3 Cuando las nubes están cargadas,
derraman su lluvia sobre la tierra.
Si el árbol cae hacia el sur,
o cae hacia el norte,
donde cae allí se queda.
4 Quien vigila al viento no siembra;
quien contempla las nubes no cosecha.
5 Así como no sabes por dónde va el viento ni cómo se forma el niño en el vientre de la madre, tampoco entiendes la obra de Dios, creador de todas las cosas.
6 Siembra tu semilla por la mañana, y no te des reposo por la tarde, pues nunca sabes cuál siembra saldrá mejor, si esta o aquella, o si ambas serán igual de buenas.
7 Grata es la luz, y qué bueno que los ojos disfruten del sol. 8 Mas si el hombre vive muchos años, y todos ellos los disfruta, debe recordar que los días tenebrosos serán muchos y que lo venidero será un absurdo.
Acuérdate de tu creador
9 Alégrate, joven, en tu juventud; deja que tu corazón disfrute de la adolescencia. Sigue los impulsos de tu corazón y responde al estímulo de tus ojos, pero ten en cuenta que Dios te juzgará por todo esto. 10 Aleja de tu corazón el enojo, y echa fuera de tu ser la maldad, porque confiar en la juventud y en la flor de la vida es un absurdo.

11 [a]Cast thy bread [b]upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days. 2 [c]Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall [d]toward the south, or [e]toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be. 4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. 5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the [f]wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all. 6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. 7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun. 8 [g]Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; [h]but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. 9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 10 Therefore remove [i]sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
